REVIEW: It strikes me that Raven has sort of settled into a rhythm with Wicked, and although not a bad rhythm, it seems a bit on the rote side at times. American Dreams is what Wicked refers to as a "vignette" release, which is debatable. What you see here is really nothing more than a visual establishing shot followed by some sex, but I prefer my vignettes to have a little story to them. In any case, it does feature some cast members that I very much like, including Stormy Daniels, Dani Woodward, and even Katja Kassin and Melissa Lauren. The headliner, of course, is Julia Ann, and she's in two of the seven scenes. Julia Ann has never really rocked my boat as it were, but I know she has a lot of avid fans out there who would be only too happy to give me a swift kick in the pants by way of becoming her champion. It's all good. If there's one thing porn is not in short supply of, it's a dizzying variety of gorgeous women to champion.

HIGHWAY Alexis has that sexy pouty-lipped look going for her, and she has a gorgeous little body to match. She discovers Kurt Lockwood in the middle of the desert--his truck broken down and his luck run out. Apparently, his luck hasn't gone too far away, though. As you might guess, they inexplicably turn a terrible misfortune into an impromptu mating ritual. They both end up in the bed of the truck, fucking each other. Alexis gets licked out, Kurt gets his cock sucked, and they go through both a missionary and a cowgirl position before he unloads a nice cumshot on her pretty face. It's an okay seen with some great visuals if you like 'em long haired, pouty-lipped and tight bodied, otherwise, this is fairly average Wicked fair.

SUNSET RIDE Julia Ann looks typically good here, although I have to admit she's not my most beloved Wicked contract performer. There's no accounting for taste, I guess. That said I can certainly see why many people like her, and the mature beauty and performance style she brings to the table. She starts out riding a horse, and eventually goes "back to the ranch" and encounters a rugged, blue-jeany cowboy--Trevor Zen. It's ultimately a very average indoor scene with a few post-production tricks that I didn't much care for--including some echoes added to the sounds of the performers and some slow-motion footage of them fucking. As I said, if you're a fan of Julia Ann, I can't complain about how she looks here, and the scene finishes off with Trevor pumping his cock between her voluptuous breasts and unloading onto her chest and neck. That's about the only relatively unusual thing about this scene, though..

Katsumi & Unknown Katsumi is looking great here--complete with a very light sprinkling of glitter over her naked body--which is a touch I especially enjoyed. Call me a perve, what can I say? She's wrapped in an American flag and is soon partnered with a faceless cock that she proceeds to lick and deep throat like only she can. After that, it's straight to the a-hole for Katsumi for the remainder of the scene. I really enjoy the harder edge that Wicked is showing here, but the scene ends up frustratingly short in comparison to most all-sex offerings these days. ::sigh:: While it's hard to imagine what this scene might have offered in sexual variety if it had run a longer course, I can't help but wish there were a little more to it anyway. It ends in a nice facial, and Katsumi does all the work in getting her man off--a nice touch at the end of a nice, if frustratingly short, scene.

HOME MOVIES The first thing to mention is that Katja is a blonde here, which is a bit of a change of pace. She looks pretty good too, as does Melissa Lauren (blonde also for those wondering), but there are a couple things about this scene that "hard-ass hardcore" lovers are going to want to know about. The first, and most potentially annoying thing is that the entire scene is shot in a mock 16mm film, "home movie" fashion. Meaning that of course it wasn't shot on 16mm film, it was shot on video and run through a post production "filter" that made it look like the crappiest 16mm film you could find laying around your basement after 10 years. It's complete with visual pops and noise and even frame jumping and color shifting. Obviously many people are going to absolutely hate this, but I have to tell you--the sex is surprisingly strokable despite the crappy haze you have to watch it through. It's not at all surprising given that Katja and Melissa are indeed two of the most intense female performers in the business. While they don't go anywhere near demonstrating all the craziness they are capable of, there is some very nice deep throating by both girls and some anal action for Melissa. The most frustrating thing of all, however, is that the scene seems very short, and has the feeling of being abruptly truncated at the end. There is only one popshot, despite there being two guys in the scene, and although it's a pretty darn nice facial for Melissa, there just seemed like there was a ton missing from the final edit. Anyway, I really don't know what to say about the home movie theme. Besides it being a very very thin setup that didn't make much logical sense, I have a hard time understanding why you would deliberately add effects that make the visuals look not only worse, but even more amateurishly produced than video itself looks in its unaltered format. Regardless, though, I would caution against dismissing this scene out of hand. These ladies are great performers, and I enjoyed the scene quite a bit, despite my problems with it.

THE MECHANIC Speaking of girls to champion. Here's one of the ones I'd choose. Dani Woodward is instant hard-on material for me. Who can say why? You may as well ask what makes an otherwise intelligent and well educated person waste so much time on ADT. It's one of those eternal mysteries of life, and honestly, they are both mysteries that are better left unsolved. In any case, I love Dani. She's not only my type, physically, but she's also got an energetic performance style and a shiny personality that comes through on camera--and I can't resist her. The setup of the scene is so incredibly thin, that even after having just watched it, I can't for the life of me remember what it was. It's set in a sort of junk-yardy, desert garage, if you can picture that, but who really cares when you've got a girl like Dani to look at? By and large, the scene is pretty average for this disc, meaning there's a little cock-sucking (including a tiny bit of deep-throat) and Dani gets fucked while both bending over a wooden picnic table, and then laying on top of it. Another nice facial ends the scene, and Dani milks the cum out of Kris's cock in fine fashion. Objectively, this is just another ho-hum, but decent looking porn scene, but if you happen to like Dani Woodward as much as I do, you can ratchet that enthusiasm up a few notches for the more subjective evaluation.

BURN BABY BURN Stormy and Julia Ann "play" firewomen, but only in as much as they are dressed like them. There is a brief establishing shot in a dirty, flame-happy set suggestive of a burning building and they waist no time just going at it, leaving the alleged fire to destroy whatever it wants to. Since, unless there's something crazy original or unique about them, I'm not much a fan of girl-girl scenes, I really don't have much useful to say here. Both girls get petted and well licked in the traditional porno, lipstick-lesbian style, and there is no use of toys. The lighting is a bit dark, and the video a little grainy and pixelated, but there is certainly a mood about it that many people might like. That's about all there is to it, besides it being a rare pairing of two of Wicked's big contract performers. And yes... although they've both looked better, they do look good.

Lexie Marie & Austin Kincaid This scene is similar on the action front to the previous scene, only this time outdoors and with two different girls. I find Lexie Marie to be particularly attractive, and the video quality here is much more to my liking. That all said, though, it's another very brief, very unoriginal lesbian scene. Both girls look great, and are dressed in those wonderful plaid mini-skirts, but there's absolutely no passion or genuine sexual interest to speak of--at least for me anyway.
