Review brief: Silver Screen Confidential seemed like a great way for me to get acquainted with early Jenna Jameson bigger-budget, plot-driven films -- and I thought this would be a shoe-in for me to recommed to couples. It had all the elements: Big star with appeal to female and male viewers, her love interest in the film is (was) her husband, it looks nice and had a retro appeal, and is plot-driven with a strong female lead character. It belongs in the bad porn hall of shame. Pretty much every bad porn cliche is here, and it is best described as a very bad "school play," from your worst 8th grade nightmares. Lighting is overblown. Acting is painful, awful, overdone. The script is overwritten and is way too much for these actors to handle. The costumes are developmentally disabled -- a good example is Jameson on the phone in New York during a heatwave, complaining about the weather wearing a huge fake fur coat and sweating like a -- er, I mean glowing.

Review brief: This is the third of the Cyber Bears films that I have seen and the only one that I have found to be totally unwatchable. Rather than calling it ILLUSION, a far better title would have been DELUSION. Over-ripe burly guys with huge beer bellies, and hairnot only on their sagging chests, but on their backs and shouldersperforming poor vanilla sex is more a turn-off than a turn-on. There are deleted scenes in the extras section but why all were not deleted is beyond me.

The video leaves a bit to be desired. The animation isnt that developed, think Pokemon, but much of it looks a little fuzzy, almost as if its a soft focus problem. Theres also some that has off-color bars through it.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting straightforward boy - girl sex who hasnt already picked up Maximum Hard Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who already bought Maximum Hard The Technical Stuff Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a bit of a mixed bag. During the sex, the audio is pretty good. Theres a few background noises during the outdoor scenes and the balance during the interviews was often a bit off.

Review brief: A really distasteful piece of crap. One would buy it from the picture of Buck Ford on the cover. Buck is a skinny kid who always leaves his oversized cowboy hat on when he has sex. He first appeared in a film called Country Boy. The title was changed to Country Buddies when the porn industry got too chicken shit to use the word "boy" in a title fearing it would give the impression it featured kids underage. (A number of other titles suffered the same fate.) Anyway, this skinny thing with the big dick would be cute if only he didn't open his mouth. When he does it's to say things like, "Take that, Queer Boy!" I can see myself buying only one more Buck Ford flick, and that would be to see someone fuck Buck. Ideally someone like Chad Hunt or Michael Brandon.

If you have either of these films, you dont want this DVD. Even if you dont have the films from which these scenes are taken, you probably dont want it either as they havent even chosen the best scenes from these other films. This turkey stands as a testament to the fact that barebacking doesnt automatically make for good sex. One can have bad sex with or without a condom. Heres the proof. I hate it when companies try to rip us off by passing us leftovers.

Review brief: What a total rip off this thing is! I had the VHS version and found it so uninteresting that I stored it away in a bottom box in my closet. But I had forgotten how bad it was until watching it on DVD. As a matter of fact the DVD is even worse because it cuts completely the last scene of the filma duo between porn legends Tim Kramer and Michael Christopher that was the only thing worth watching. But this is notI repeat NOTon the DVD. So why is Tims picture on the cover? To lure you into buying it. What we are left with is a dreary, choppy piece of crap that appears to have been edited by Jack the Ripper and silly, boring, lackluster sex. The first name of the director was Vex. It is singularly appropriate. The sound track has unceasing easy listening music form the 80s that will drive you nuts. There are sloppy chapter entry points and nothing else in the extras section. Added to this is the fact that it has been poorly transferred to DVD.

Review brief: NOTE: This is not your typical review. Others have done an excellent job reviewing the content, scenes, performances, etc. of this porn classic. This "review" concerns itself with how the DVD's contents compare with the complete, uncut original release version of the film or an early (before prior self-censorship) VHS version. The Ratings given refer either to the "original" version of the film (Performers, Plot, Sex, etc.) or to the DVD version (Extras, Value, etc.) and are relatively arbitrary. The important info is that which follows. MARASCHINO CHERRY DVD IS THE PITS! Radley Metzgers last hardcore effort under his Henry Paris nom-de-film is finally available on DVD from Video-X-Pix. Well, they saved the worst for last and by that, I dont mean from a content standpoint! While Maraschino Cherry is generally regarded as the weakest of that group of films, even Metzgers weakest efforts far outstrip those of most of his porn peers and successors, IM (and many others) HO.

Who Should Avoid It: The tougher question is who shouldnt avoid it who possibly can. Audio /Video Quality: I cant really say anything about the audio on the main feature, as there isnt really any. Its all a music track, which really annoys me as theres nothing overly artistic to the scene. As I watched the movie, the only reason I thought it was this way was because it was cheaper and easier than editing a real audio track. Id be hard pressed to come up with a single word to describe the video quality of Maximum Sex.

Review brief: I purchased this video because of it's promise for nasty anal, and sadly, not only did it not deliver, but it was actually a turn off. First, for an anal themed film, the first anal penetration occurs over 20 minutes into the film. The rest of it is the so called 'director' goofing around, and talking. Stupid to say nothing else. The videography is among the worst I've ever seen. Lighting is horrendous, camera angles are sharp, jittery, and looking at nothing most of the time. The bonus feature of "Multi-Angle" is a complete joke. Go ahead and switch the camera angle once or twice. What do you see? The other camera man, right? That's what I thought. Switch back. Now your looking at the floor? Yeah, that's about it. In short, the worst use of multi angle technology I've ever seen. I was hoping to see something involving sex on this DVD, but what I got was whip pans, shots of the floor, and some interesting close ups of the second camera man. Overall, this is one of the worst DVD's I've ever seen. Hands down. Don't buy it. Don't rent it.

But what really pissed me off was that guys featured on the cover werent here. When we buy a DVD we assume the guys on the cover are going to appear in the film. Otherwise we would not be buying it. Well, folks, this DVD cover lies. And as I bought it for the longhaired dude who wasnt there, I felt justifiably pissed off. The muscular hairy dude aint there either. What we had were two guys with no pubic hair and a couple of dogs. This is false advertising of the highest order and a real rip off.

Review brief: I have seen some pretty bad films in my time, and I probably have seen one that was worse than this one, but, if so, I have repressed the memory. It looks so promising on the surface: a southern prison gang that we know is going to gangbang their guard. But before we get there, we have four other truly awful scenes. In the first we have the warden interrogating Buck Horse Jackson. It is a foul diatribe using the contemptuous boy and the N word. The warden wants to swing on Bucks big dick and does. The problem is that the scene is performed in semi-darkness and for some mysterious reason switches to black and white from time to time. (Actually one can see what is going on better in the black and white sections. The color sections are shrouded in shadow and the action is almost totally obscured.) What were they using for lighting here? A night-light? But if I thought the first scene was poorly lit, I had only to wait for scene two. The second scene was performed in total darkness.

Review brief: Silver Screen Confidential seemed like a great way for me to get acquainted with early Jenna Jameson bigger-budget, plot-driven films -- and I thought this would be a shoe-in for me to recommed to couples. It had all the elements: Big star with appeal to female and male viewers, her love interest in the film is (was) her husband, it looks nice and had a retro appeal, and is plot-driven with a strong female lead character. It belongs in the bad porn hall of shame. Pretty much every bad porn cliche is here, and it is best described as a very bad "school play," from your worst 8th grade nightmares. Lighting is overblown. Acting is painful, awful, overdone. The script is overwritten and is way too much for these actors to handle. The costumes are developmentally disabled -- a good example is Jameson on the phone in New York during a heatwave, complaining about the weather wearing a huge fake fur coat and sweating like a -- er, I mean glowing.

Review brief: This is the third of the Cyber Bears films that I have seen and the only one that I have found to be totally unwatchable. Rather than calling it ILLUSION, a far better title would have been DELUSION. Over-ripe burly guys with huge beer bellies, and hairnot only on their sagging chests, but on their backs and shouldersperforming poor vanilla sex is more a turn-off than a turn-on. There are deleted scenes in the extras section but why all were not deleted is beyond me.

He first appeared in a film called Country Boy. The title was changed to Country Buddies when the porn industry got too chicken shit to use the word "boy" in a title fearing it would give the impression it featured kids underage. (A number of other titles suffered the same fate.) Anyway, this skinny thing with the big dick would be cute if only he didn't open his mouth. When he does it's to say things like, "Take that, Queer Boy!" I can see myself buying only one more Buck Ford flick, and that would be to see someone fuck Buck. Ideally someone like Chad Hunt or Michael Brandon.

But this is notI repeat NOTon the DVD. So why is Tims picture on the cover? To lure you into buying it. What we are left with is a dreary, choppy piece of crap that appears to have been edited by Jack the Ripper and silly, boring, lackluster sex. The first name of the director was Vex. It is singularly appropriate. The sound track has unceasing easy listening music form the 80s that will drive you nuts. There are sloppy chapter entry points and nothing else in the extras section. Added to this is the fact that it has been poorly transferred to DVD.

As I watched the movie, the only reason I thought it was this way was because it was cheaper and easier than editing a real audio track. Id be hard pressed to come up with a single word to describe the video quality of Maximum Sex.

Review brief: I purchased this video because of it's promise for nasty anal, and sadly, not only did it not deliver, but it was actually a turn off. First, for an anal themed film, the first anal penetration occurs over 20 minutes into the film. The rest of it is the so called 'director' goofing around, and talking. Stupid to say nothing else. The videography is among the worst I've ever seen. Lighting is horrendous, camera angles are sharp, jittery, and looking at nothing most of the time. The bonus feature of "Multi-Angle" is a complete joke. Go ahead and switch the camera angle once or twice. What do you see? The other camera man, right? That's what I thought. Switch back. Now your looking at the floor? Yeah, that's about it. In short, the worst use of multi angle technology I've ever seen. I was hoping to see something involving sex on this DVD, but what I got was whip pans, shots of the floor, and some interesting close ups of the second camera man. Overall, this is one of the worst DVD's I've ever seen. Hands down. Don't buy it. Don't rent it.

Review brief: I have seen some pretty bad films in my time, and I probably have seen one that was worse than this one, but, if so, I have repressed the memory. It looks so promising on the surface: a southern prison gang that we know is going to gangbang their guard. But before we get there, we have four other truly awful scenes. In the first we have the warden interrogating Buck Horse Jackson. It is a foul diatribe using the contemptuous boy and the N word. The warden wants to swing on Bucks big dick and does. The problem is that the scene is performed in semi-darkness and for some mysterious reason switches to black and white from time to time. (Actually one can see what is going on better in the black and white sections. The color sections are shrouded in shadow and the action is almost totally obscured.) What were they using for lighting here? A night-light? But if I thought the first scene was poorly lit, I had only to wait for scene two. The second scene was performed in total darkness.

Initial Reaction: Its a dream all right, but not a good one. Who Should Watch It : Extreme fans of Nikita Denise and Kelly Erikson Who Should Avoid It: Anybody curious about voice activated or virtual sex DVDs Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very clear and well balanced. Its easily the best thing done on the DVD. The video is normally very good, but has problems. There are some bad flashes of pixelation during the sex portion of the feature, and some of the extra footage also has some noticeable pixelation. Music: None. Disc Problems: The voice activation part of the DVD doesnt work.
