Review brief: Exhibition has to be one of my top ten dvds, besides the great sex, hot men, and overall high production values it also includes the most extras Ive seen on an adult film thus far.The extras include 4 previews, a model gallery; which consists of various slides of the actors, cast slide show, movie gallery-slides of various scenes in the film, and behind the scenes stills.The basic premise of the film is that it takes place during a photography gallery opening and as the guest mill about we are shown various photographs which "come to life". All of the guys are fairly exceptional and well endowed and the sex is extremely good. Review brief: "Vortex" directed by veteran filmmaker Jim Enright is yet another fine release from VCA, a company which is known for their technically superior DVDs as well as for hot sex. Starring contract stars Juli Ashton, Vicca and Nikita, as well as Nici Sterling and Melanie Stone, "Vortex" employs the same digital special effects and background setting used (and sometimes over-used) in classics like Michael Ninn's "Sex" and "Latex" but they do not distract from fuck and suck scenes (which are, after all, the raison d' etre of porn).The DVD cover art has a simply stunning picture of Juli Ashton, decked out in a skin-tight silver outfit in a quasi-martial arts-action pose. Since attractive packaging is one of the single biggest factors in the sales or rental of a porn video, kudos must go to whoever artfully composed this shot, which manages to show off Juli's fantastic body (yet barely shows any skin!) and conveys the movie's science fiction motif about time travel.

Review brief: Titan does it again with the release of Fluid, a summer of heat, passion and man sex! I had only seen the trailer, which blew me away.Story : Actually there's not a lot to mention here, this is more or less an all-sex video, much in the Andrew Blake style, but more hardcore (as usual for Ninn) and sadly shot on video, though you really can't tell from looking at it (cameraman Barry Wood won the 1999 AVN Award for videography for his work). Jamie Gillis plays a man who forsake the heavens and disrespected God because He took his wife and child. Review brief: Hot off the heels of "Virtual Sex with Tera Patrick," this Amerasian super-starlet is spotlighted in yet another interactive, first-person video called, appropriately enough, "My Plaything." Let me state from the start that after being very disappointed in the over-hyped and over-praised "Virtual Sex" edition, I was pretty much expecting more of the same, or rather less of the same. Shot against a dark, sterile background --- as if we were on location in some condemned building with plastic garbage bags lining the walls --- "Virtual Sex with Tera Patrick" was, to me, a decidedly un-erotic, dank looking video with dreadfully phony cumshots from a prosthetic penis. Despite the star of the show looking sexy as ever, there was something cheap about the deliberately sparse setting, which made the "experience" rather depressing than exciting. Moreover, the on-screen menus had some of the ugliest graphics I had ever seen, which greatly detracted from the viewing experience (true, they were removable, but it made toggling the controls all the more difficult).

Review brief: Overview Bliss is a prime example of how close a porn can be to mainstreamwith a soap opera twist. Juli Ashton is our main character who is not happy and satisfied with her marriage. She wants it to work, but cant help straying in her search for sexual satisfaction. Her best friend is Tina Tyler who has some marital problems of her own. While Juli feels remorse for her actions and loves her husband, Tina is icy cold to her husband for his unfaithfulness. Both Juli and Tina play their parts perfectly. Tina seemed to really enjoy this bitchy character she played it so well. I dont want to give too much of the movie away, so I wont go into too much detail with the scenes. There is a lot of dialog in this movie and its done so well. However, the camera angles are what really struck me. Antonio used some subtle, yet brilliant shots (this may be a guy thing!). For instance, theres a dialog scene in a restaurant, but in the foreground of the shot is another table with a plate of french fries. I know people are thinking so what? Big deal!!, but its kind of artsy.

Review brief: The Plot: Every now and then we have to change the old paradigms and realize that something new is in the air. Witness exhibit A: Vivids Interactive Mind Teazzer. It really defies classification. Its not a compilation, its not a gonzo and it certainly doesnt have a plot. How do we define such a beast? I think if I were able, I would classify this disc as an amusing toy. It's either that, or classify it as "drink coaster". The Cast: Its nice to see that Vivid is rotating out some of the faces (and bodies) that weve all grown to love in favor of some less-exposed talent. Some of the old crowd is here: Kobe Tai, Kira Kenner, Lisa Comshaw. There is a whole gamut of first-name-only Vivid girls here: Zoe, Doria, Mia, Stella, Crystal, Stacy, Jordan, etc. etc. etc. Most of the girls are artificially inflated, but I didnt see any that were awful in execution. The guys are represented by um there are none. I really have only a couple comments about the cast here: Somebody needs to feed Kobe Tai, and Kira Kenner is an excellent dancer.

Review brief: Directed by the infamous Dark Bros., "The Devil In Miss Jones 3 and 4" were critically-acclaimed classic sequels to the original ground-breaking porno which even reknowned radio personality (I hesitate to call him a journalist) Larry King proclaimed as one of his favorite films (I am not making this up!). Despite the dated look of most of the porno stars, and pre-CGI set designs and special effects, these two films still have a daring and surreal look to them. The sex, however, is not as heated as some of the Dark Bros better efforts, like the the Traci Lords-edited "New Wave Hookers" which preceded this work.

Review brief: With films like "Dark Garden" and "Bliss" showing up on DVD, complete with director's commentaries and "making of featurettes," VCA has done a commendable job releasing high profile prestige projects in today's porn market. Directors like Antonio Passolini and Michael Ninn are among the very few filmmakers who actually employ mood and atmosphere as a backdrop for good old athletic sucking and fucking, and the results are exceptional, solid erotic films as opposed to assembly-line porn vids.However, the formulaic, shot-on-videotape pornos which were so prevalent in the late eighties and nineties can often be equally arousing, despite their cheesy looks or cliched plots; it just all depends on a competent director, and hot performers. BRIDE ON THE RUN, a recent VCA release, fits that exact bill. Directed by veteran pornographer Fred Lincoln, this movie is a formulaic, unpretentious video which I found surprisingly satisfying and even refreshing.

Review brief: The Plot: Oh boy, thats a tough one is there plot on this disc? Well, kind of. There is a plot of sorts, but this really is more of a compilation disc than anything else. There is plot for each scene, but its never part of a cohesive whole. Its like watching the Club Massacre from the beginning of Blade, the boarding of the plane from Passenger 57, and the final inning from Major League on a Wesley Snipes compilation disc. Is there a plot? Sure, but you dont see much of it. Im just going to address the plots in the scene breakdown; its really not worth it from here. The Cast: You know, those of us who are old enough to remember the Golden Age of Porn (i.e., old farts like myself) have fond memories for the great stars of the years gone by. These warriors of the sexual age were the few warm bodies who were able to rise above the tab A into slot B routine and show us how much fun sex could be. The unsung heroes of our sexual education, they were there in our parents closet, in their bottom drawers and under their beds.

Review brief: Directed by Michael Ninn, DARK GARDEN features an all-star line-up of VCA's hottest contract girls, and has already received much in the way of acclaim and attention. After seeing it twice already, I can honestly say that all the praise heaped on this stylishly-directed, hot little epic is well-deserved. However, I must point out that consistent with VCA's policy, condoms are used throughout, and I will admit up front that I have a prejudice against seeing them in adult films. Of course I understand the health and safety reasons for condom use, and certainly, I feel that safe sex is important. But for me, their presence ruins the fantasy of adult movie, and it warns me ahead of time that there will be no oral money shot at the end of any given encounter. Review brief: Directed by the infamous Dark Bros., "The Devil In Miss Jones 3 and 4" were critically-acclaimed classic sequels to the original ground-breaking porno which even reknowned radio personality (I hesitate to call him a journalist) Larry King proclaimed as one of his favorite films (I am not making this up!). Despite the dated look of most of the porno stars, and pre-CGI set designs and special effects, these two films still have a daring and surreal look to them. The sex, however, is not as heated as some of the Dark Bros better efforts, like the the Traci Lords-edited "New Wave Hookers" which preceded this work.

Review brief: With films like "Dark Garden" and "Bliss" showing up on DVD, complete with director's commentaries and "making of featurettes," VCA has done a commendable job releasing high profile prestige projects in today's porn market. Directors like Antonio Passolini and Michael Ninn are among the very few filmmakers who actually employ mood and atmosphere as a backdrop for good old athletic sucking and fucking, and the results are exceptional, solid erotic films as opposed to assembly-line porn vids.However, the formulaic, shot-on-videotape pornos which were so prevalent in the late eighties and nineties can often be equally arousing, despite their cheesy looks or cliched plots; it just all depends on a competent director, and hot performers. BRIDE ON THE RUN, a recent VCA release, fits that exact bill. Directed by veteran pornographer Fred Lincoln, this movie is a formulaic, unpretentious video which I found surprisingly satisfying and even refreshing.

Review brief: The Plot: Oh boy, thats a tough one is there plot on this disc? Well, kind of. There is a plot of sorts, but this really is more of a compilation disc than anything else. There is plot for each scene, but its never part of a cohesive whole. Its like watching the Club Massacre from the beginning of Blade, the boarding of the plane from Passenger 57, and the final inning from Major League on a Wesley Snipes compilation disc. Is there a plot? Sure, but you dont see much of it. Im just going to address the plots in the scene breakdown; its really not worth it from here. The Cast: You know, those of us who are old enough to remember the Golden Age of Porn (i.e., old farts like myself) have fond memories for the great stars of the years gone by. These warriors of the sexual age were the few warm bodies who were able to rise above the tab A into slot B routine and show us how much fun sex could be. The unsung heroes of our sexual education, they were there in our parents closet, in their bottom drawers and under their beds.

After seeing it twice already, I can honestly say that all the praise heaped on this stylishly-directed, hot little epic is well-deserved. However, I must point out that consistent with VCA's policy, condoms are used throughout, and I will admit up front that I have a prejudice against seeing them in adult films. Of course I understand the health and safety reasons for condom use, and certainly, I feel that safe sex is important. But for me, their presence ruins the fantasy of adult movie, and it warns me ahead of time that there will be no oral money shot at the end of any given encounter. Review brief: First, I have to admit that I am not the right person to review a one on one interactive disc with a woman. Interacting with Tera Patrick just doesn't turn me on, no matter how beautiful she may be. With that understanding, my review is more fact than opinion. Image Quality: You can look at one frame of a Digital Sin DVD and know it's a Digital Sin DVD. The second the disc loaded, I was flabbergasted by the incredible quality. From the lighting to the camerawork to the DVD authoring, this disc is a visual masterpiece. And the seemingly perfect Tera Patrick is the ideal performer for such stunning image quality. Tera Patrick: Undoubtedly Tera is one of the most beautiful, intriguing women on film (or magazine for that matter.) And she unquestionably looks her best on this DVD - alluring clothing, attractive make-up, and the all-important good lighting. But I would have to say that she is more model than porn star. I'm sure the controlling of an 'untouchable' is a fantasy for most men - and she certainly fulfills that. But she's not personable or highly orgasmic.

Review brief: In The Flesh does live up to its shot on location hype, even if riddled with some illogical writing. Commendable acting, enticing costumes, elaborate sets, attractive performers, and remarkable cum shots overshadow the sometimes-random script. The retro future time period is confusing, and pretty much ruins what could have been an interesting lustful take on an age-old story. And the poorly integrated Shakespearian quotes do more to add comic relief than enhance the literary Macbeth reference.If I viewed In The Flesh as simply a porno, then it is a stunning production, brimming with Peter Northian facials that you dont often see from VCA.The Story centers around the power hungry Lady Macbeth (Kylie Ireland) who intimidates her husband (Mike Horner) into offing the king in order to take the crown. Dont let the machine guns and military jeeps throw you off, because castles, witches and horse riding are still the norm in this befuddled time period.
