Director: Stuart Canterbury
Cast: Sarh Jane Hamilton, Tiffany Millions, Kaitlyn Ashley, Isis Nile, Melanie Moore, Maeva, T. T. Boy, Tony Tedeschi, Mike Horner, and Joey Silvera
Initial Expectations: I expected one of the typical early to mid 1990s pornos with some pretty decent sex and almost no plot.
Initial Reaction: It’s a movie that almost everybody has already seen, on one form or another. Unfortunately, the sex is average at best with the exception of Sarah Jane Hamilton’s one scene.
Audio / Video Quality: Surprisingly good. The picture is very clear. There’s a few glitches here and there, but the problems probably came from the master. The sound is Dolby 5.1 and quite good. There’s a few spots where there’s a rumble in the background that sounded like a car was pulling up outside, but other than that, the sound is very good. There aren’t even any wind sounds during the outdoor scenes.
Music: The music fits the movie very well, although it’s normally too loud. Through most of the movie, the balance would have been about right if the music and other audio were switched.
Review: If you’ve watched any porn from the early to mid 1990s, you’ve probably seen a movie like ‘Girls Off Duty’. It’s common enough that I think this type of porno was the first chapter in the plot section of ‘Making Pornos For Dummies’. You know the plot. A bunch of girls get together after work, or once a week or something like that and relate their sex stories. In many cases, you don’t care about the plot that would leave plenty of blank space on a matchbook because the sex is really good. That’s the key for this kind of movie to succeed well. The sex has to be really good. Unfortunately, most of the sex isn’t that good here. There’s a couple scenes that are pretty average, and one that’s really hot. For the most part, however, ‘Girls Off Duty’ is very forgettable.
“Girls Off Duty’ starts out with Sarah Jane Hamilton, Tiffany Million, Maeva, and Melanie Moore getting together after a hard day of work at a diner where Isis Nile works the counter. Two cops (Tony and T. T.) sit at the back of the diner and Sarah Jane, who works security, tells the girls that they’re really a couple of jerks. Tiffany, who also works security, tells them that she used to date Tony and he isn’t too bad when you get him away. Of course, this leads to the sex flashback when he took her to the park and they did it on one of the benches. This is one of the average scenes, but it does show some attention to details. It looked like the scene was shot in some pretty high winds. Surprisingly (especially for what I’ve seen from New Machine), you don’t get any wind noise in the scene and can still hear some of the sounds of passion. I was really surprised at this and it gave me some higher expectations for both the movie and New Machine as a whole. Also, neither Tony nor Tiffany ever strip down completely, which helps some with the public sex feel. I know that a lot of this was probably due to the wind and if they stripped down completely both of them could hire themselves out as glass cutters for the next three days. On the negative side, Tony had one of the worst cum shots I’ve ever seen. He barely dribbled anything on Tiffany. I think Tiffany got more milk out of her tit than Tony sprayed on her. Which leads me into the next negative. I know that this is completely my own opinion, but I don’t see what’s so sexy about Tiffany having to spray milk in her scenes. It really turns me off and I tend to avoid her scenes because of it even though I really enjoy the rest of her performance.
Back at the diner, the girls convince Sarah Jane to tell them what the guys did to her. When she was a virgin rookie (snicker), she was working a split shift. She was going to go home, but T. T. convinced her that everybody just sacks out in one of the cells for a few hours and that he’d come wake her in a few hours. She goes down to the cell, strips down, and goes to sleep only to wake up to Mike Horner in a trench coat sticking his unit in her face. I can’t blame her for being upset. I know that I’d be upset if I woke up to Mike Horner sticking his unit in my face. Mike finally convinces her that he’s not such a bad guy and they get down to business. In my opinion, this was by far the hottest scene in the movie. If you’re a fan of Sarah Jane Hamilton’s, this scene alone is enough reason to buy ‘Girls Off Duty’. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Sarah Jane, she is a squirter. Unlike most of the girls who claim to do it out there, Sarah Jane’s the real thing and makes it look darn sexy. Thanks to Sarah Jane, I’ve watched numerous really bad pornos with girls who claim to squirt, and I haven’t seen a single one make it look as sexy as Sarah Jane. In this scene, Mike gets a lot of credit for knowing what he’s doing as she squirts three times. She even gives him the time out signal at one point. I’m in awe just thinking about this scene.
In the real world, the cops leave the diner and T. T. goes off to see his girlfriend. Tony gives him a little crap about it since he’s never seen her. Tiffany and Sarah Jane leave soon after and go home. The diner’s closing down, so Melanie agrees to give Isis a ride home, while Maeva gets to know Joey, the cook, better on the couch in the back room. This is one of those scenes that’s really average. There’s nothing that even stands out in it.
Meanwhile, Melanie learns that Lover’s Lane is on the way to Isis’s home. The place Melanie parks her little convertible sports car sure looks like it, at least. This was another average lesbian scene. There’s a little toy usage, but not enough to turn off those who don’t like toys. This scene looked really uncomfortable to me. The positions the girls had to get in for the cameras didn’t look at all natural or comfortable. Of course, I’ve never had sex (lesbian or otherwise) in a convertible, so maybe these are the kinds of positions you have to get in.
Finally, we see T. T. driving down the road in the daylight. This has got to be some piece of ass if he’s driving through most of the night and some of the day to get it! He finally pulls up to a warehouse and goes inside to find Kaitlyn Ashley waiting for him. Now I understand the long drive. I can’t blame him. I don’t think I’ve seen Kaitlyn do less than an average job (with most of her scenes being above average) and I really wish she’d get back into the business. Kaitlyn is the only girl here who’s on duty. I guess there was some need for a bad girl, so a hooker should suffice. This isn’t one of Kaitlyn’s best scenes, but it’s still worth watching.
Perhaps ‘Girls Off Duty’ would have seemed better if the plot scenes were done a little better. My main complaint about the plot scenes were the diner. You never saw Isis on the screen with any of the other girls when they were at the counter. You had a shot of the diner from behind the counter, and then you had a shot of Isis (and occasionally Joey) behind the counter. The behind the counter scenes killed me. It looked like it was shot in somebody’s house. The cameraman had to sit in the living room while Isis stood in the kitchen. It really gave the entire movie a cheap feel. There’s nothing wrong with making a cheap movie. It just shouldn’t feel like it.
Extras: A photo gallery, eleven trailers, and a link to AdultDVD2000.com. The trailers are okay at best, but the photo gallery is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. I can get a clearer picture when I hit pause. After the first three pictures I gave up trying to watch it.
Themes: Straight, lesbian, anal, outdoors, squirting, light spanking, milking, and rimming (male -> female)
Raincoat Factor: Pretty high. The plot scenes aren’t much and are easily skipped.
Overall: ‘Girls Off Duty’ can be found online for between $20 and $27, with most stores having it for about $22. This is pretty high for this movie unless you’re a fan of Sarah Jane Hamilton in which case it’s worth it for her scene alone. For everybody else, rent it first if you can. It’s not that bad of a movie, it’s just that I don’t think it will be watched more than once unless you’re into one of the stars.
