Initial Expectations: This is my first Anabolic release, so I didn't really know what to expect. From what I head about Anabolic, I had better than average expectations.
Initial Reaction: Better than average, but a little more attention could have made it much better.
Audio /Video Quality: A little better than average. There are some problems with shadows (although most of the movie takes place at night), but they're more than they should be. The audio is very poorly balanced and the dialogue is very hard to hear much of the time.
Music: The music fits the scenes very well, but it's way to loud. I gave up on trying to understand the dialogue after the second scene. The balance would have been pretty good throughout most of the movie if the dialogue and music volumes were reversed.
Review: ‘Interview With A Vamp’ is a pretty respectable adult version of ‘Interview With a Vampire’. Due to the time length, it’s not a great adult version, as it would easily run over two hours to do it right. Instead, the effort was put into doing a shorter version well. Tiffany Mynx plays the Brad Pitt role, Alex Jordan plays the Tom Cruise role, and Dave Hardman plays Christian Slater’s role as the reporter. Outside of Dave Hardman, these seem like pretty good trade offs.
We start with Tiffany meeting Dave in a dark room and telling him that this isn’t made up. It’s real and it’s dangerous and people should know. Thankfully, she doesn’t show Randy West or Buck Adams as proof of the undead. I guess it’s considered common knowledge. We then flash back to the Old South, when all guys dressed in light suits and women dressed in extravagant southern belle dresses. Tiffany narrates how this was a perfect world, yet she was still unhappy as we see her and Mike Horner chase each other around. We quickly shift to the bedroom with a very tender scene between Tiffany and Mike. I didn’t expect anything like this from Tiffany. I’m used to seeing her in the ‘Buttman’ type movies. I never thought Tiffany could do a role so tender and loving and romantic. It was very well done with great passion and energy though the entire scene. The soft jiggle of Tiffany’s unenhanced breasts made the scene even better. Tiffany even kept the southern belle dress partially on throughout the scene. The only problem with the scene was there were some bad shadows in a few parts.
Tiffany felt watched where ever she went. One night, she felt the eyes on her and started running as Alex followed her. Alex used her powers to move ahead of Tiffany and caught Tiffany as she ran into her. Alex told Tiffany that she knew she felt unsatisfied and that she could show her things she never dreamed of (I think she was implying either a thin Ron Jeremy or Pokemon characters getting it on, but I’m not sure) and that they could explore the night together. This of course, leads to Tiffany and Alex getting to know each very well. Tiffany is drawn, but still unsure. Some of her not being sure might be that she’s got some awful stubble going on down under. Of course, Alex goes Vamp and bites Tiffany. This is another well done scene that doesn’t have toys. It was nice to see this little attention to details and not have vibrators when the scene appears to take place in the 1800s or very earl y 1900s.
Alex teaches Tiffany a few things, but makes her wait to feed off some one else. Eventually, they go to see Ian Daniels. This scene is a three some, but 90% of the action is between Alex and Ian. Tiffany spends a lot of her time taking care of herself. This was really too bad, as I think the scene would have been much better with everybody taking care of each other. Alex finally lets Tiffany bite Ian after he blows his load. As sad is it was to watch a vamp take a human life, at least they had the consideration to let the guy have one last moment of pleasure. The main problem I had with this scene was the costumes. The scene was to happen shortly after Tiffany was bit, but when they are walking to Ian’s place, they are both dressed in very mid - 1990s styles. I know that this is a minor gripe, but it’s one of those things that really made me look twice and slightly confused me.
Tiffany learns that she hates to take a human life, while Alex loves to and uses sex to prolong the victim’s death. Thankfully, we didn’t see Tiffany decide that farm animals are okay to kill and Alex come over to her side. Instead, we see Tiffany’s disgust as Alex throws a party and invites a few friends over for dinner. Asia, Tiffany, Nick, and Marc all enjoy the feast while Alex calms Tiffany, who doesn’t want to prolong anything. She feels that if they have to kill people, they can at least get it over with. With this group, I have to agree with Alex. Let them have one last fling, even if it does involve Marc Wallice. Thankfully, it also involves Asia early in her career. This is a pretty good group scene. Everybody switches partners quite a bit, while Alex and Tiffany watch. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see Tiffany and Asia together. We do, however, get to see Tiffany and Alex have them for dinner.
Back at the darkened room, Tiffany knows that Alex is back in town, so she wants to finish the interview as quickly as possible so Alex doesn’t find out. As in all bad movies, Alex knows that this is her cue to enter the room. Tiffany tries to protect Dave, but Alex knocks her out and forces Dave to have sex with her. Unlike the rest of the movie, the sound is actually balanced here. I had to watch this scene twice, as I was in too much shock the first time for anything to register. Alex is very animalistic in this scene, and it fits the brutality of her character very well. She also gives her first anal scene, which didn’t mean too much to me, as this was the first movie I’ve seen her in (at least the first movie that I can recall). Of course, Alex kills drinks his blood, but I think it was more because he gave a really bad cum shot and she wanted to get more out of him. Tiffany blames herself for Dave’s death, and makes him drink her blood, cursing him to walk the earth with her forever. I can think of worse curses.
As I said before, this was my very first Anabolic film, so I didn’t know what to expect. The one thing I seemed to hear a lot was that they paid a lot of attention to the technical details. Most of the titles I’ve seen browsing through stores looked like raincoater features, so I had some hope for an all around great feature with ‘Interview With A Vamp’. Surprisingly, the technical aspects were the weakest thing about ‘Interview With a Vamp’. Instead, it’s strongest feature was the story. ‘Interview With A Vamp’ would have been a lot better if the audio was balanced properly. I all but gave up trying to understand the dialogue very early in the movie. It’s really too bad, because it seemed like a pretty good story with better than average sex.
Extras: 13 trailers on the B - side of the DVD, and a photo gallery. The photo gallery is okay, but nothing special.
Themes: Straight, lesbian, anal, group, and rimming (both female - female and male - female)
Raincoat Factor: Average.
Overall: Currently, 'Interview With A Vamp' ranges in price between $19 and $28 with most stores being around $23. If you absolutely must have it, pick it up for $19, but this seems way high to me. Tiffany Mynx and Alex Jordan fans will still be pleased with 'Interview With a Vamp' at the current prices. My main fault with the DVD was that the music overpowered the audio to the point that I could not clearly hear the dialogue. The extras were okay, although the photo gallery was a little below par.
Note to Anabolic: From what I’ve heard, this kind of transfer is extremely unusual for you. Please remaster this title and re-release it as it has the worst audio I’ve ever heard.
