Running Time: Approx. 2 hours

Production Date: 2 / 16 / 00

Cast: Stacy Valentine, astroknight (hey, this thing is about dreaming, I might as well go all the way)

Initial Expectations: I’ve heard great things about Digital Sin’s My Plaything series, so I had high hopes.

Initial Reaction: Wow! This is a great interactive sex DVD.

Audio /Video Quality: Both are excellent.

Music: None

Disc Problems: When run on my DVD-ROM, I could not get the blooper reel to work and the DVD would restart when several of the interactive choices were made.

Review: I’ve never really been impressed with the idea of a sex simulator. Maybe it comes form too many disappointments when I tried playing the simulators as a kid that were supposed to be ‘just as good as the real thing’. Maybe they were if you were a choir boy, but when I play the game where you race cars through a busy downtown area, I want the blood smear and thump that you’re supposed to get when you run over little old ladies combined with the cops not being able to catch you. Granted, I’ve never done it, but at one point I’m sure many of us have wanted to. It’s kind of the same thing with Stacy Valentine. I know that I’ve got as much of a chance of sleeping with Stacy Valentine as running over little old ladies without the cops catching me. Of course, if I did sleep with Stacy Valentine, I’m sure the cops would be hunting for me then too.

‘My Plaything: Stacy Valentine’ is great! Stacy does a great job throughout the DVD. Unlike ‘Chasing Stacy’, MP: SV only has two heat settings: naughty and nice. It’s a cute way to do it, and there isn’t really anything lost with the middle mood. MP: SV also gives a lot more options, both positions and toys, and they seemed more natural than in ‘Chasing Stacy’. Even in the ‘Do Me Do You’ section there’s more stuff. Rather than just finger, tongue, or dildo, MP: SV adds the Sybian. Granted, the Sybian isn’t a common toy for most of us due to the cost, but it’s something that a lot of people showed interest in. It’s nice to see Digital Sin put the extra effort into the fantasy. The ‘Cum on Q’ feature also works well. If I remember right, in ‘Chasing Stacy’, there was only one scene for the cum shot. In MP: SV, the cum shot is fit for each scene and there’s a lead in into it.

There are very few negatives about ‘My Plaything: Stacy Valentine’. The first thing that disappointed me was that there wasn’t an anal choice. This wasn’t an option in ‘Chasing Stacy’ either, so I assume that it’s because Stacy doesn’t enjoy anal that much. If so, then I can respect that. It’s nice that the star puts some of their real likes and dislikes into a sex simulator of themselves. The second negative was the loops. When the loop ended, it went back to the very start of the loop. For instance, if it’s the tease section with Stacy’s tits, she starts dressed and ends up fondling them. When the loop ends, we start over with Stacy dressed and asking if we want to see her tits. I admit that I know next to nothing about creating these DVDs, but I used to do a little programming. I assume that the loop could go back to a point other than the start of the loop. It’s the same thing in the other areas. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal in the tease parts, but when you get to the sex parts, it really breaks it up.

Perhaps the most noticeable different for me between ‘Chasing Stacy’ and ‘My Plaything: Stacy Valentine’ is the background. ‘Chasing Stacy’ used the blue screen behind the action to give you the choice between three locations. It was a nice idea, but it ended up looking fake and ended up being annoying. ‘My Plaything: Stacy Valentine’ didn’t do this. Instead it’s in a normal, however classy, house. It gives everything a much more realistic feel which, in the end, I think may make ‘My Plaything: Stacy Valentine’ outlive ‘Chasing Stacy’.

Extras: Photo gallery, trailers, and a blooper reel. The blooper reel is okay, but nothing special. The same for the trailers. There’s quite a few, but nothing you probably haven’t seen on one of Digital Sin’s other releases. The most outstanding extra is the photo gallery. I was amazed at the extent of the photo gallery. If I counted right (and this was way beyond my fingers, toes, plus one), there’s one hundred photos. I think if you’ve got a good color printer you may be able to print them out and have yourself one heck of a flip book.

Themes: Virtual sex, straight, toys, masturbation

Raincoat Factor: Very high!

Overall: If you’re into Interactive Sex DVDs or Stacy Valentine, this DVD is for you. Currently, you can pick it up online for between $21 and $28 with most stores being around $24. This seems pretty comparable to other Interactive Sex DVDs, and should be well worth the money at $24. If you’re not into Interactive Sex DVDs, but are interested, you might want to check out ‘My Plaything: Stacy Valentine as well.
