Pirate Video Deluxe 7: Tanya Hyde's London Calling Review

This is not a new DVD, but no one has apparently posted a review, so here are some comments.

London Calling continues in the same vein as Tanya Hyde's two earlier Private videos (Xtreme Desires and Twisted Dreams). There are five scenes featuring Monique Covét along with Bettina, who has been in quite a few Private productions, and the less familiar girls Ingrid Suede and Chantelle. The cocksmen are billed as Tony di Sergio, Kevin Long, Roy Rogers and Tony Gold.

The editing is in the same style as in the previous videos: induced graininess, jerkiness and false colours alternate with snippets of more ordinary video, and everything is accompanied by driving techno beats and dubbed moans. Beyond the fetish clothing and settings, the sex itself is not that daring or outré. However, the style is original enough. In fact, the Tanya Hyde productions are just about the only ones coming from Private I find interesting at all. (I haven't seen any of the Antonio Adamo flicks, though.)

Now to individual scenes.

Cunt Clinic: Bettina masturbates in a dentist's chair. Monique joins her. Both don face masks and latex gloves, and start work on a male patient (Tony di Sergio), who is lying on an operating table, feet in stirrups (it may be of interest that he also wears a pair of the kind of high heeled fuck-me boots with laces on the side). The instruments they use on this patient include a penis pump and some anal tools. Bettina does him with a strap-on dildo. He becomes more active toward the end, and the scene ends with a pop shot on the girls' protective glasses.

Lipstick and Buggery: Bettina is in a swing type contraption. Monique enters, dressed in the red latex suit seen on the cover. Later, a man made up to look like the Joker (from Batman) joins them. This scene has some of the best imagery on this disc, particularly in the beginning.

Cockwork Cabaret: This is set in a dungeon-like place. Ingrid is a blonde Swedish girl with a sweet face and a body that looks like she could kick my ass any day without breaking a sweat, and I'd probably enjoy it, too. She does a strip tease and masturbates with a dildo. Three Clockwork Orangeish guys in bowler hats grab her and do the old in-and-out, among other things.

Taxi to Tonsiltown: Monique and Bettina again with some guy, who leads Bettina (who is wearing an Afro wig) on a leash to Monique's place, where they have a three-way scene.

Two Fat Cocks and the Sleeping Cutie: Chantelle is lying in a coffin surrounded by roses and candles. Two freaky characters in black clothes and top hats (morticians, maybe) enter and start to fondle her. One of them straddles her face and sticks his cock in her mouth, at which point she wakes up. After a threeway scene Ingrid comes and drives the characters away. She is also in a top hat, plus she wears a strap-on dildo. The girls have sex, then it's Ingrid again with the two freaks and a third guy.

The disc contains the standard Private extras: a trailer, a short behind the scenes piece, trailers for other Private DVDs, a few stills, cast bios (female only). The menus are quite well designed.

I'd recommend this DVD to people who want to see something different, or are not interested in standard porn. The music in itself is pretty good. (The action is hard enough to turn off the more prudish kind, though.) The editing style is probably too distracting to the raincoater segment. Personally, I would like live sound, and perhaps the scenes could be a little more developed "dramatically" – this sometimes seems too much like a freak show instead of playing with the power dynamic of S/M games.
