Review brief: The best thing about this movie is it's own preview, which is tightly edited, funny, and very entertaining. The movie itself is not so great. This was an attempt to parody the 1940's private detective genre, the type of Sam Spade/Phillip Marlowe roles that Bogart played. I'm a fan of Jace Rocker comedies, but this one fell flat. It simply wasn't funny, even where it could have been. It is supposed to be set in New York City, the "Big Apple" but, last time I checked, they don't have many palm trees in New York, nor a lot of pools in the back yards. The end credits state that it was shot "on location in Southern California" but that was a) not where the movie is set (in other words, not the location), and b) painfully obvious throughout. The sets are cheesy and cheap looking. A better approach would have been to use actual footage from old 1930s and 1940s movies for all of the exterior shots, per Steve Martin's "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" (although that would probably have caused too many copyright problems). Despite the presence of the always wonderful Asia Carrera, the sex was pretty much by the numbers.

I have to admit to being disappointed that nobody cared enough to do it right and give it an anamorphic transfer, which anybody with a widescreen TV begs for.

Review brief: Here is another porn film that follows the time-honored convention of parodying a mainstream movie or television show. Shot on a soundstage in San Francisco in 1982, the movie has the look and feel of the hit seventies and early 80s TV show, M*A*S*H. In fact, the overhead footage at the beginning of the film is the same outdoor set built for the mainstream show. Paul Thomas plays the Hawkeye character, called Jaybird, and Joey Silvera plays the Radar character. The female lead, hot hips Henderson, is played by Jessie St. James, who looks remarkably like hot lips Hoolihan. St. James does a remarkable acting job, and even seems to have some of Loretta Swits style and mannerisms. Unfortunately, this films close similarity to the show it is parodying is about the only thing it has going for it. The sex scenes are brief, a couple of them lack money shots, the women are average in the looks department, and the script is lame.

Review brief: After a poor first half, Dangerous Obession picks up and ends up with a very decent second half. Due to the plot problems I have trouble recommending this film to anyone. If you are patient and are willing to watch this film twice it will be worth your time. Don't be fooled by the limited edition tag on the case and feel like you have to pick it up fast. There are few special features on the disk, nothing to justify calling it a limited edition and probably on the regular edition, when released, the only change will be a shortened behind the scenes feature. I definitely don't recommend this film to anyone who doesn't like plot based adult entertainment. New Era has done a good job with their Limited Edition DVD release of Dangerous Obsession.

Review brief: The best thing about this movie is it's own preview, which is tightly edited, funny, and very entertaining. The movie itself is not so great. This was an attempt to parody the 1940's private detective genre, the type of Sam Spade/Phillip Marlowe roles that Bogart played. I'm a fan of Jace Rocker comedies, but this one fell flat. It simply wasn't funny, even where it could have been. It is supposed to be set in New York City, the "Big Apple" but, last time I checked, they don't have many palm trees in New York, nor a lot of pools in the back yards. The end credits state that it was shot "on location in Southern California" but that was a) not where the movie is set (in other words, not the location), and b) painfully obvious throughout. The sets are cheesy and cheap looking. A better approach would have been to use actual footage from old 1930s and 1940s movies for all of the exterior shots, per Steve Martin's "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" (although that would probably have caused too many copyright problems). Despite the presence of the always wonderful Asia Carrera, the sex was pretty much by the numbers.

Review brief: Here is another porn film that follows the time-honored convention of parodying a mainstream movie or television show. Shot on a soundstage in San Francisco in 1982, the movie has the look and feel of the hit seventies and early 80s TV show, M*A*S*H. In fact, the overhead footage at the beginning of the film is the same outdoor set built for the mainstream show. Paul Thomas plays the Hawkeye character, called Jaybird, and Joey Silvera plays the Radar character. The female lead, hot hips Henderson, is played by Jessie St. James, who looks remarkably like hot lips Hoolihan. St. James does a remarkable acting job, and even seems to have some of Loretta Swits style and mannerisms. Unfortunately, this films close similarity to the show it is parodying is about the only thing it has going for it. Overall: With the exception of Elizabeth's and Jade's scenes, the remaining ones were sub-par. DVD Quality: The DVD quality is good, but not great. The picture quality could be sharper. Extras: The extras are very sparse since only still photographs and a brief biography of the women comprise it. Likes: If only Elizabeth Terlato worked on her sexual energy throughout her performance as well as her "techniques," she would be on her way to be a porn megastar like April Flowers! Dislikes: The DVD could have left Vanisha's and Tabitha's scenes on the cutting floor.

Overall: You can skip this one! DVD Quality: One positive note is that the DVD quality is very good. Extras: It's the standard Elegant Angel DVD extras. Likes: None. Dislikes: Everything! SEX HIGHLIGHTS: This fusion of punk, rap, and rock just does not work. The video style tries to be too flashy with the video effects. With the Metallica wannabe music blaring, we are treated to an abridged version of Bella's photo session. Thankfully, the music ends and the sex begins. Extras: The interview with Steve Drake, who discusses the history of porn is very interesting. He compares and contrasts the porno industry now and then. He criticizes the lack of emphasis on the acting.

I have to admit that this one was one of the better ones. This movie stars Venus as Lara Kroft (I know I spelled it with a K, because thats how they did it in the movie...I guess they will get in trouble if they use the same name.) This movie displayed some god awful acting and stunt work, but I guess that's what you get with a porn movie re-doing an action film. The 1st scene has Lara (Venus) having some fun with her male companion Voodoo. I have really taken a liking to Voodoo. He has a nice sized cock, and sprays a big load of cum every time. I really liked Venus' scenes in this movie. She has about B-sized tits, and a great ass. The scene was about above-average to pretty good.

Review brief: After a poor first half, Dangerous Obession picks up and ends up with a very decent second half. Due to the plot problems I have trouble recommending this film to anyone. If you are patient and are willing to watch this film twice it will be worth your time. Don't be fooled by the limited edition tag on the case and feel like you have to pick it up fast. There are few special features on the disk, nothing to justify calling it a limited edition and probably on the regular edition, when released, the only change will be a shortened behind the scenes feature. I definitely don't recommend this film to anyone who doesn't like plot based adult entertainment. New Era has done a good job with their Limited Edition DVD release of Dangerous Obsession.
