Helen Contre Helen Review

Overall Impression
The film is in French I believe, but it is a bit of a non issue since there is next to no dialouge during the sex, just a few brief exchanges between Covet and Duval. There are a lot of things that I really liked about this import, however there are some drawbacks.

The film has a very soft and slow sensual feel to it. There is quite a bit of slow motion used, as well as extremely soft lighting and mellow music tracks. At times this works, and at times it makes it very hard to enjoy the performances. The look and style of the sets, and clothing deserve high marks. The girls can be found wearing some great stuff throughout this one, and it really helps. I just don't understand why more directors don't pay more attention to this sort of thing, it can really make a difference.

Although director Peter Elsen often finds some enticing angles of the action, he does not always edit his scenes together with the most effective pacing. All in all it is a beautiful film to watch even if it is not a total turn on every second.

Scene 1 Monique Covet
This scene begins with what must be an Amsterdam style live sex show or performance. Monique decides to join the two men watching the show in the front row of the theater. Instead of watching the rest of the show Monique slips into a daydream in which she is on stage taking on the two men she was sitting beside. These three slip in and out of quite a few positions, including anals, and DPs. The action finishes with a nice double facial which fades to them watching the conclusion of the real stage show.

Scene 2 Kate Moore & Astra
For the most part this scene consists of two 1on1s. The couples pair up and get down in this empty but stylish bar. After they go through all the usual positions including anal for both girls, and Astra gets a brief DP before they receive their facials.

Scene 3 Kate Moore
This time we get to see Kate go 1on1. Moore looks stunning here she really does, but as nice as the scene looked it didn't generate all that much heat. That said I totally loved the pop shot in this scene.

Scene 4 Helen Duval
I'm not sure how old this European legend is now, but she still has it. Duval's body shows almost no signs of age here. These two go at it standing for pretty much the whole scene. Once again this scene is more glamorous than hardcore. However Duval does do anal. I also would have liked to see her a little more naked by the end of the scene.

Scene 5 Monique Covet
This scene I loved! Granted I am a Covet fan, but this was by far and away the best scene of the film (and one of Monique's best) for several reasons. Lets start with how sexy Monique looks. They did a marvelous job with her wardrobe, everything works perfectly to show off her figure. The black fishnet stockings, the gloves, the classy miniskirt, the revealing silk top that manages to expose her supple breasts throughout the scene, and finally the gold chain that hangs around her waist as elegantly as a dewdrop hangs from a flower. This scene just seemed more passionate than the others. Also the composition, and the framing of some of the shots are breathtaking. The seductively slow mood really works here, and helps to enhance Covet's performance. She puts in some nice anal work here as well.

Scene 6 Dolly Golden & Bettina
Another 1on1 1on1 pairing as these two gals face of with their respective partners. I don't believe there is any anal in this one.

Scene 7 Monique Covet & Helen Duval
Finally these two blonds get down together. They are both wearing what I imagine must be some incredibly expensive French lingerie. After some nice g/g footage some lucky stud gets a dual BJ from the Euro stars.

Final Thoughts
I suppose you could compare this film to an Adamo film for a point of reference. Only the lighting is even softer, there is more slow motion employed, the performers do not look directly into the camera, and it is a little less hardcore.
