Review brief: Man, oh, man, and have mercy on me for my depravity--this is one serious, filthy, nasty and aggressive, wild, over-the-top, WAY beyond vanilla suck-and-fuck DVD! And I loved every damn minute of it! The cast is chock full of hide-bound muscular studs, most of them with looks and/or bodies that could get me off in ANY DVD. But for my tastes, throwing all these guys into a pig flick like this is manna from heaven! This DVD is serious, raw sex from the git-go; non-stop, no story and with minimal music. There are few extras (Hey! Like I care?). Just 120 minutes of clear, crisply edited, wonderfully raunchy film with incredible close-ups and some nasty verbiage to boot. The filming was done by Bruce Cam so the video quality is excellent. Who could ask for anything more? Not me. Miss Chi Chi outdid herself with this one. Most of the cast is hot, hot, hot. Even the few that dont exactly pull my chain, like Zachery Scott, are so aggressive they almost make up for it.

Review brief: This Catalina story-driven DVD is far from a great sex romp. The story is a Strangers on a Train kind of a deal, and sort of movie about making movies. Nasty movie director Steve Rambo and his financial angel and lover Blake Harper have a relationship that is on the rocks, mainly because film star Jason Branch, who is film score composer Ray Harleys lover, is actually doodling director Steve on the side. Anyway, Ray finds out by looking at the daily rushes (seeing some extra footage of Steve and Jason doing dirt), so Ray arranges for Blake to strangle Jason and Blake has Ray shoot Steve. Confused? Never mind. Weve seen this plot before and of course much better done by Hitchcock, and the same can be said about the man-to-man sex (except for the Hitchcock part. I dont think he ever filmed man-to-man sex. Although, if Psycho had taken a different turn, I really wouldnt have ruled it out for Anthony Perkins.) Sorry if I confuse the issue further. Anyway, a major fault of this DVD for me is that the suck-to-fuck ratio is WAY too high.

Review brief: Expectations Here we find a brand new series from DVSX, so I have nothing to really go on. The studio has put out some strong releases in the past, so that is promising. Apparently the premise of the series is to visit different locales and film the talent. Capsule Review This is a reasonably good release. It is a bit rougher (technically) than many of the DVSX releases that I am accustomed with. The wardrobe is plainer and the sets are spartan. This is anti-glamour porn, a genre that I generally find boring, but it is quite palatable in this release. One serious flaw is the lack of anal in several of the scenes, but that is really the only complaint I have with this release. Technical As I mentioned above, the technicals here are a little on the rougher side. Think typical Le Castel type quality...

Review brief: Expectations While DVSX is definitely one of my favorite studios, this has been one of their weaker series. Hopefully this installment can change that. Capsule Review This series continues to struggle a bit, those this is an improvement over some of the past efforts. The focus on grown women trying to dress as pre-pubescents is not as overwhelming in this volume, though it still shows its ugly face. Review brief: Defiance (or Defiance of Good) is a dark, relatively unknown, horror-tinged movie from 1974. The central character is Cathy (Jean Jennings), a teenage girl who, after being discovered with drugs, is sent by her parents for psychiatric observation. However, the hospital she attends is a hellhole where she is harassed and raped by her fellow inmates so, when the opportunity to move to another clinic presents itself, she jumps at it. Unfortunately she soon comes to realise that her new doctor, played by a very hirsute Fred Lincoln, is actually closer to a brutal cult leader than a traditional medical practitioner. The film has quite a dark tone and (arguably) some philosophical under-currents but its neither as shocking as Through The Looking Glass or as thought-provoking as The Devil In Miss Jones. Defiance covers some rich narrative ground - bringing to mind One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, The Story of O and the Manson Family but never quite manages to be as interesting as it should be. There are a couple of nice directorial flourishes but somehow its all rather pedestrian.

Review brief: The Wild circle Directed by Susi Medusa Gottardi Overall Impression Much like my good friend aybesea I had high hopes for this one. I totally share aybesea's perspective on Kovi's mishandling of Private's Pirate line. Once upon a time the Pirate Video Deluxe flicks from Tanya Hyde and Frank Thring made it my favorite series. Unfortunately Kovi seriously dropped the ball in my opinion. It's not that he is untalented, because he has made many fine movies for Private's other lines like the Black Label line, but rather he never captured the edge or kink factor that made the previous Pirate titles so exiting. So needless to say I was very curious to see what this unknown female director was going to bring to the table. Judging from the boxcover pics alone I liked where she seemed to be going. This movie is certainly a step in the right direction for the Pirate line, but not quite in sync with the level of quality achieved by Thring and especially Hyde. However Susi Medusa does show some very real promise in her Pirate debut.

Review brief: This Catalina story-driven DVD is far from a great sex romp. The story is a Strangers on a Train kind of a deal, and sort of movie about making movies. Nasty movie director Steve Rambo and his financial angel and lover Blake Harper have a relationship that is on the rocks, mainly because film star Jason Branch, who is film score composer Ray Harleys lover, is actually doodling director Steve on the side. Anyway, Ray finds out by looking at the daily rushes (seeing some extra footage of Steve and Jason doing dirt), so Ray arranges for Blake to strangle Jason and Blake has Ray shoot Steve. Confused? Never mind. Weve seen this plot before and of course much better done by Hitchcock, and the same can be said about the man-to-man sex (except for the Hitchcock part. I dont think he ever filmed man-to-man sex. Although, if Psycho had taken a different turn, I really wouldnt have ruled it out for Anthony Perkins.) Sorry if I confuse the issue further. Anyway, a major fault of this DVD for me is that the suck-to-fuck ratio is WAY too high.

Apparently the premise of the series is to visit different locales and film the talent. Capsule Review This is a reasonably good release. It is a bit rougher (technically) than many of the DVSX releases that I am accustomed with. The wardrobe is plainer and the sets are spartan. This is anti-glamour porn, a genre that I generally find boring, but it is quite palatable in this release. One serious flaw is the lack of anal in several of the scenes, but that is really the only complaint I have with this release. Review brief: What I liked: Fisrt let me just say that this is the first time I ever watch anything from this porn company. Review brief: Defiance (or Defiance of Good) is a dark, relatively unknown, horror-tinged movie from 1974. The central character is Cathy (Jean Jennings), a teenage girl who, after being discovered with drugs, is sent by her parents for psychiatric observation. However, the hospital she attends is a hellhole where she is harassed and raped by her fellow inmates so, when the opportunity to move to another clinic presents itself, she jumps at it. Unfortunately she soon comes to realise that her new doctor, played by a very hirsute Fred Lincoln, is actually closer to a brutal cult leader than a traditional medical practitioner. The film has quite a dark tone and (arguably) some philosophical under-currents but its neither as shocking as Through The Looking Glass or as thought-provoking as The Devil In Miss Jones. Defiance covers some rich narrative ground - bringing to mind One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, The Story of O and the Manson Family but never quite manages to be as interesting as it should be. There are a couple of nice directorial flourishes but somehow its all rather pedestrian.

Review brief: The Wild circle Directed by Susi Medusa Gottardi Overall Impression Much like my good friend aybesea I had high hopes for this one. I totally share aybesea's perspective on Kovi's mishandling of Private's Pirate line. Once upon a time the Pirate Video Deluxe flicks from Tanya Hyde and Frank Thring made it my favorite series. Unfortunately Kovi seriously dropped the ball in my opinion. It's not that he is untalented, because he has made many fine movies for Private's other lines like the Black Label line, but rather he never captured the edge or kink factor that made the previous Pirate titles so exiting. So needless to say I was very curious to see what this unknown female director was going to bring to the table. Judging from the boxcover pics alone I liked where she seemed to be going. This movie is certainly a step in the right direction for the Pirate line, but not quite in sync with the level of quality achieved by Thring and especially Hyde. However Susi Medusa does show some very real promise in her Pirate debut.
