Visitor, The (Elegant Angel 2006) Review

Description
This is a sci-fi feature without any dialogue. Flick Shagwell is taken over by an alien life form, which then wanders L.A. at night, feeding off people's sexual energy and their life energies.

General Impression
This has a very promising plot idea, not fully realized. The first scene is very well-filmed, with decent special effects. The edgy, ominous music fit the slightly apprehensive mood of the scene and I enjoyed the lively sex. But as the same type of music is used loudly in scene after scene, it becomes repetitious and mechanical. As part of the plot, the people are mesmerized into having sex. The idea of slightly glazed-over or zombie-like people fucking, along with the loud techno music, causes a loss of some of the heat. This was a feature movie, but because of the way the movie was set up, no character development was done.

I would have liked to have seen the characters of the people a bit - maybe joking around, maybe arguing, maybe being buffoons, whatever -- at least for a minute or two, before being controlled by the alien. As it is, when they are sort of flash vaporized, it means nothing, as all we know of them was their hypnotized zombie form. The potential is even there for Good vs. Evil type of tongue-in-cheek fun. I would also have liked a variety of music, and different moods for the sex, rather than just different acts, with the Visitor generally being a voyeur rather than a hypnotist, solely so that we could see a better range of individual sexual expression and personality.

Sex
Flick and Joey Ray are in a parked convertible in one of those gritty industrial areas characterized by warehouses, chain link fences, and overpasses. After a bright light passes overhead, zapping Flick with an alien-ray, she does a wet blowjob, and takes standing doggie before he eats her out in a generous way on the hood of the car. The music is a bit intrusive, but fits the intensity of the scene fairly well. There's some really nice grinding mish, pounding mish, reinsertions and 'outercourse' in this quite prolonged, hot scene. He lets loose his jizz on her stomach, the hood of the car, and his own stomach. The reward for his stellar performance is to be zap-absorbed.

Flick enters a building nude through a metal door, to the apparent unconcern of two office workers within. Under Flick's command, Steven French and Elizabeth kiss and then fuck in a steady, pounding, less than sensual way to more of the now-relentless chunk-a-chunk of the techno music. Flick approaches them just to take the facial, with a catatonic expression.

Flick then enters a library and mesmerizes Ashley and Holly, who oblige her by eating each other's pussies and wielding a magically appearing dildo and butt plug. The music has taken to bubbling and gurgling, and near the end of the scene inexplicably makes noises that resemble a combination of hoofbeats and capgun explosions.

Julie Night takes on Steve Holmes and Byron Long, beginning with a lot of the sort of deep gagging that produces the sounds of angry geese sputtering and hissing. She does them in turn in mish while sucking the other, and follows with a cowgirl dp. Flick shows up and sits staring vacantly as the men wank on Flick's chest.

In the last scene, Flick mesmerizes Steve Hatcher and Jasmine Lynn. Jasmine sucks dick like she's in a race, and the music is quite intrusive. They fuck fast and furious in standing doggie before Flick decides to hop on for reverse cowgirl, then a bouncing reverse cowgirl anal with A2OGM (ass to other girl's mouth). A major third-wheel situation develops, to music with overtones of a carnival pipe organ, and the scene ends with girl-girl kissing.

Extras
Extras include trailers, and a rather ordinary bonus scene (from Czech Mate) which includes a dp.

Summary
There's plenty of sexual action, right through gagging and a dp. But those wanting a feature will probably want at least a tiny bit of character development and warmth. It looks like they may have set this up for a sequel, and I offer my own suggestions because I like the plot idea and the way this one was filmed.
