There's
plenty of interest for Private star watchers in this edition of Castings,
though as usual casual viewers may well find it less gripping. Interviews,
photo shoots and sex scenes - it's the standard mix in the series that
gives a tantalising glimpse into the world of Woodman. Sometimes it's
revelatory, other times it almost seems deliberately bereft of genuine
insight.
Katja Kean
Often Pierre's wannabe starlets are in the "rabbit in the headlights"
mode. That can't be said of Danish blonde Katja, who gives her name as
Suzy, in a frank and upfront encounter. She's old enough to make age a
topic that a gentleman shouldn't pursue (I'll be rude and reveal that
her profile says she's 29, but doesn't give a birthday). Speaking much
better English than Pierre, and amiably rubbing the fact in, Katja makes
this more of a statement of intent than an interview. She's not here to
be persuaded to make porn films - she's here to present her case for Pierre
to cast her. Calm, cool and collected but perfectly charming with it,
Katja has clearly had a lot of sexual experience since losing her virginity
aged 13. A woman of the world, one might say. Readily confessing bisexuality,
she agrees that she likes a little pain, not too much, prefers
to pee on other people than have them do it on her, and likes to be dominant
or "to be used" (her words). She nips out for a shower, returning to proudly
show off her naked body. She's tanned and toned and in pretty good shape,

Katja's star quality could hardly have been in doubt, but to prove it
further here's the chance to see her in action, which clinches the case.
Ostensibly this is a relatively throwaway scene from the Triple X Files
magazine series, but in a performance that must have been one of her first
(from her clothes it could have been on the same day, or soon after, the
interview - the scene is also in a room overlooking Sacre Coeur in Paris),
Katja lets her body do the talking as she states her case in clear terms.
Philippe Soine and David Perry benefit from her oral skills and her willingness
not just to be fucked, but also to really take a full role. DP and a lot
of very vigorous anal sex, facials and a post come suck leave no doubt

This very young and good-looking girl with dark hair says she's from India,
but oddly she seems to understand Pierre better when he chucks in a few
Hungarian words. She's come to Pierre via her friend Nora, who's put in
a good word for him, and his translator Gabriella. The interview is a
bit of a struggle, but she seems well aware of what it's all about. Her
body, as Pierre says, is skinny with nice tits. That's a slight understatement
- they are a lovely pair, nice bum too.
Seeing her in action is a treat, as always. Firstly, a photo shoot in
a bar where she looks like a doll in Philippe's hands. Always smiling,

brothel sequence in Tatiana 2, where Peggy Sue's admirable body looks

The second Private feature star in this edition, Kata Lynn is known out
with Private as Caroline Cage. Her sparkle is obvious from the off in
her interview. Golden curls frame a naturally pretty face that lights
up when she smiles. The interview is done through Gabriella's translation,
though she knows a little French; at least as much as the person who prepares
the subtitles - her work in a "brasserie" is in a bar, not a brewery as
the subtitles suggest! Again, she knows what Pierre's business is about,
and though uninterested in girls or anal, she's very amiable and clearly
happy about the idea of doing this work. When she strips off…well, I'll
leave it to Pierre: "Elle corps! Oh, putain!" She's slim and has small
boobs (no implants at this stage, which later ruined her look) but she

Two scenes from her starring role in the Indecency two-parter are used
as examples of her work. First, there's a peep at the views of Rio before

Woodman standards - it's as close as he comes to romance! It seems to
have been edited for time, but still seems boring. Then we have a stronger
scene from Indecency 2, with lovely brunette Gabriella and Philippe Soine

happens, off-camera of course. You can join the dots yourself. Next thing
you know, Viktoria's stripping off, purely on the understanding she'll
only do glamour photos, of course. Yeah, right. As Pierre says, she has
a wonderful little body, slim, small boobs and a beautifully shaped ass.
There's a little of Liv Tyler there also. She has a small tattoo on her

So, let's talk about sex. All the chat is done through Gabriella's translation,
and there are holes in the subtitle translation so not all that happens
is relayed to us non-Magyar speakers. Keep watching the face, and the
shy smile that starts to pop up. Yes, the naïve virgin has been located.
It soon emerges that Viktoria's reticence to model for pornography is

helped put a hole in the old story about Woodman movies' lack of chemistry.

numbers should put some of the more doubtful facets of this series into
perspective - you're only seeing a handful from the thousands he claims
to have auditioned), Lena is a slim, pretty blonde Russian. 18 and a shop

done at 2 in the morning. She only strips to her panties - I guess her
heart wasn't in it.

Overall
A good selection of interviews, almost assembled as if to prove that many
of the girls are perfectly ready for this work without resort to underhand
tactics, are matched by a better than usual selection of sex scenes, with
Katja's short but sharp introductory affair being particularly watchable.
The photo shoots hold only marginal interest, but my highlight of any
Woodman Casting is always the initiation scene, and Viktoria's introduction
feels particularly mesmerizing. You can take or leave the surrounding
issues, but the sex is always explosive and certainly fills a fantasy
that many men would fancy - taking a young, willing pupil and not just
teaching her about sex but also giving her the experience of her young
life. It may all be nonsense of course, but fuck it! Come on, go along
with it! I find this superb, sexy entertainment - Pierre may or may not
be a rogue and Castings may or may not have the spectre of exploitation
lurking in the shadows, but no more so than many current US-produced excursions
to Europe. I prefer this.
DVD Comments
I should note that the movie opens with a warning about the substandard
nature of some of the footage, so you can't say you haven't been warned.
The behind the scenes stuff from the photo shoots is actually better than
a lot of times in this series. The sound isn't too bad, though some clips
are dubbed. Otherwise, no big complaints. The extras take in a 15-minute
Woodman interview from 1997 (a standard), photo sets linked to the girls'
profiles, production notes and trailers, plus a DVD-Rom catalogue section
with photos.
