Review brief: These guys should have left their clothes on. I was tempted to submit my review with just that one sentence, but you deserve an explanation. I had never heard of this film when it was a lowly VHS, and rightly so. It consists of three scenes. The first begins as some kind of contest. Three men are dancing nude. As the best looking one is elminated it must be a dog show. Later things turn into a sort of free-for-all. IT's like one of the early ManPlay series, except here the guys are less than average, the lighting is poor, and the photography is the shits. You can't tell who is doing what to whom, but you won't care. At one point one of the guys shows he can suck his own dick. Those 20 seconds are the only highlight. Two bedroom scenes follow. In the first, two young twinks suck cock for ages and then fuck. In the second, two young guys (not bad at all to be honest) suck and fuck.

Review brief: If you are looking for something such as the title suggests, you will be very disappointed. With no gangbang, no bondage, no S & M, no watersports, and no fisting, things just aint very sleazy. Review brief: I had this on VHS umpteen years ago, watched it twice, and couldnt make head or tail of it. Eventually I gave it away. Now that it has been released on DVD I thought that perhaps I might have grown wiser with age so decided to watch it again. Well, I was just as befogged as before. Some of the problem may lie in the fact that Ive never seen FALCONHEAD ONE, but I doubt it. Its one weird fucking flick. It begins with Paul Barressi wearing a falcons head and a leather jock out in the wild. Smoke crosses the scene and Paul can now be seen jacking his cock to climax. Review brief: BEHIND THE SECRET DOOR has two things going against it: weak direction and an unattractive cast. The star is Ty Hudson whom to call homely were to compliment. Neither the face nor the chunky hirsute body are appealing. Unfortunately hes in nearly every scene. We see him in front of his computer watching porn (what hes watching seems more enticing than what we are) or hes on the phone calling someone to come over, or hes opening his front door (the secret door). We begin with Ty at the computer and then we cut away to Brad Benton painting a canvas. (Is this what Tys watching or what?) Brad has a technique that would have made Jackson Pollock proud. Hes smearing the paint on with his fingers and then blowing bubbles onto it. John Marcus (old enough to be Brads daddy) comes a-knockin. Review brief: I have to admit to a real weakness. I love old horror and sci-fi films and I love old pre-condom porn. The older and cheesier the better. Review brief: As Jett Blakk did for Jason Ridge in THE BEST OF JASON RIDGE, he now does for Nick Capra, another star who has blossomed under Blakks astute direction. The result is NICK CAPRA DIRTY TALK. Bret Wolfe, a good friend, interviews Nick. Wolfe makes it easy for Capra to speak freely about his life, loves, and art. There are times when they forget they are doing this for others and go off onto tangents that make us feel neglected but on the whole were seldom bored with their conversation. Bret comes across as a warm friendly sort of laid-back guy. Nick in contrast appears to be a tad hyper, the type of guy its exhausting to be around for any length of time. He comes across as frightfully intelligent and so open and honest that he must have and made many enemies as well as friends. Another surprise is that he is much lighter than the macho stud he appears to be in films. We begin with a solo. Nick lies on a sofa and pounds his pud. It doesnt take him long to shoot a load. Then, with more or less introductory comments, we are treated to three of Nicks scenes for Red Devil.

Review brief: With the price of gas these days I may be a bit over-sensitive about price gauging. However, when a VHS is reissued onto DVD and the price is considerably more than it ever was when the film was on VHS then I think its time to scream about being ripped off. After all its not like they have to pay the performers or director. They were paid 25 years ago. And the cost of manufacturing a DVD is less that the cost of manufacturing a VHS. So why the top line price for a dupe? Good old American GREED, thats why. Now this is not to say the film under discussion here is bad. Far from it. But under the circumstances it should not have the same list price as a new DVD. Produced originally in 1988, BARE TALES was one of the last of the pre-condom films before the AIDS scare sent panic throughout the industry. (At least one of these performers succumbed to that plague.) At the films opening we find hunky Jim Pulver who sent my hormones moaning in my younger days (and still does, Ive discovered viewing this) strolls out onto his elevated deck nude to display his wares for a stalker.

So its great that theres a sequel to his earlier star vehicle with SPY QUEST 2. Its a spy vs. spy concept with a plot thats as thin and convoluted as the strand of a spiders web. But its enough on which to hang four super scorching sex scenes. Following an establishing shot of Quest Manor in San Francisco, a man in a ski mask is seen planting a bomb under Spencers car. We later learn this is Brad Star who, although working for Spencer, is a double agent for Quest's nemesis, Black Fist. Spencer comes out of the manor, hops in the car, and drives off. Luckily the car doesnt blow up at that moment or we wouldnt have any film. Review brief: Ive never really cared for Doug Jeffries as a performer, but after seeing LIGHTS & DARK Ive concluded I like him much better as a performer than as a director. Its unbelievable that anyone could take such a hot cast and make such a lukewarm film. Yet hes done just that. The idea is pretty good. Centering the action around a coin laundry where one normally separates the lights from the darks but having white boys and black boys come (or cum) together. The problem was in the execution. The direction lacks imagination and hes badly serviced by his cameraman. Either the cameraman has one leg considerably shorter than the other or else he has an absolute fetish for oblique angles. Such shots only disorient the viewer. A swirling pattern reminiscent of a similar device in Hitchcocks Vertigo changed the setups between and within the scenes themselves. I know this was to simulate the washing cycle and would have been OK to have separated the scenes but it occurs within the scenes whenever the blocking changes. The result is a series of static tableaux.

Review brief: Titan seems to be doing a flip-flop of late. It used to be that their Manplay series had a bunch of guys engaged in seemingly freewheeling sex while their major features had a semblance of a plot. Now it appears that their Manplays are starting to have plots and their majors are getting a bunch of guys together for seemingly haphazard sex. Closed Set: Titan Stage One is like a crossbreed between a Manplay film and an audition tape. There are freewheeling sexual encounters and there are tryouts where prospective performers are interviewed and jack off. We then see them in a sex scene. The film begins with Mason Wylera beautiful young guyleaving his trailer park and driving to Titan studios where he enters the door marked Closed Set and picks up a camera. Now let me say here that I have a problem with this review because the film is filled with a preponderance of bearded clones and I find it difficult to tell them apart. So my apologies to anyone whom I get wrong. When Mason arrives on the set he finds Tober Brandt and Hunt Parker kissing.

Review brief: Sean Storm is a sexy young guy. He has lots of good performances to his credit in some very good films. Deciding to capitalize on this success hes gone into making his own filmsbareback. STORM DRAINS is listed as written by Sean Storm, directed by Sean Storm, and starring Sean Storm. Therein lies the problem. Although the film is not bad, it would have benefited from a more objective approach. The problem is that scenes are not always properly set up, editing is often too abrupt, continuity sometimes goes askew. The premisesuch as it isbehind the action is that Sean has been thrown out of his apartment by his boyfriend because Seans ass has been willing to take on all comers (or cummers). He is found sleeping in his car by his one platonic friend, T J Wood, who takes him home. T J keeps talking about a wife, which seems somewhat incongruous since T J seems about as straight as a pretzel. But maybe hes married to Liza Minelli. Sean tells T J about some of his adventures and so we relive them with him.
