All About Bel Ami Review

Five Stars for a documentary? YEAH!
Few things could be more pleasant than spending two and a half hours with the handsomest man in the world (Lukas Ridgeston), the cutest guy in the world (Johan Paulik), the sexiest guy in the world (Ion Davidov), the world’s most beautiful (Sebastian Bonnet) and a bounteous bevy of other exquisite boys cavorting around in the nude, sucking, fucking, and just generally looking gorgeous.

The boys—primarily Lukas—are interviewed and we fans of the studio learn not only about what each likes and dislikes about their careers but also what they think about each other and their future hopes. (Lukas who studied architecture wants to rebuild his family home.) Bel Ami is indeed a happy family.

They speak in Slovak but in the U.S. where Lukas and Johan are inducted into the Porn Hall of Fame we hear them speak very good English and during the filming of AN AMERICAN IN PRAGUE that featured Chance, the only American to appear with Bel Ami (lucky bastard), we hear him and Johan chattering away in our tongue. Lukas also tells us at one point that Ion Davidov speaks Romanian, Hungarian, and English but his Slovak is very bad. Which explains why during his scenes the directions are given to him in English. At one point we see Ion reading Roald Dahl’s “Ghost Stories”. (He is also seen wearing a butt plug to prepare for Lukas. But that’s another story.)

As well as the film mentioned above, we go behind the scenes for many other films: FRISKY SUMMER 2, CHERRIES, SUMMER CAMP, LUCKY LUKAS being among them. We even get a preliminary look as the gang goes off to Greece for GREEK HOLIDAY.

There’s an interesting sequence where we see the boys getting casts of their dicks made in order to make replicas which can be used either as ‘art objects’ or dildos. (I hope they get royalties.)

If Bel Ami were really smart they would sell this one for much less than they do their regular films. (They don’t) It is a fabulous advertisement for them. You will want the films you see being made or—at the very least—want to view them again. That said, it’s probably wisest to rent as I did.
If you are a fan this is a must. If you aren’t but want to see what all the fuss is about—this will show you.
