Flash's
review from 3/25/2019:
Chained is a BDSM feature movie from the beginnings of Bizarre Video. Unfortunately, the story, the BDSM aspects, and the sex itself aren't very good in Chained. The production itself looks cheap and, unfortunately, has little to offer the viewer. Bizarre Video has done an adequate job with their streaming and download edition of Chained with video quality that is acceptable for the age but poor audio quality. [read the full review]

review from 1/30/2019:
Emboldened by a female colleague's wanton activities, a newly-minted, cosmetic industry Vice President, the stunning legend, Lesllie Bovee, embarks upon a quest of sexual exploration and gratification around her home base of San Francisco. Given her rising station in life, she's in need of a trustworthy bodyguard to keep her safe, which she finds in the down-on-his-luck smooth-talker and former Navy boxer, John Leslie, who pretends to be gay to get the job. Of course, John's charade, coupled with both of their prurient proclivities, results in a powder keg that's simply bound to explode...in all manner of fucking. Such is the case in "Champagne for Breakfast", a very good, 1980 release from Chris Warfield and re-mastered by Vinegar Syndrome. [read the full review]

Flash's
review from 11/28/2016:
Zachary Strong attempted to do something new and original with Visions of Clair. However, the end result is sadly an incoherent mess. The story goes all over the place and doesn't ever make sense of itself and the majority of the sex scenes are shot and edited in a way that makes them completely inaccessible. Visions of Clair is an easy film to skip. Cal Vista has done an acceptable job with their release with a watchable picture and listenable audio but not much more. [read the full review]

review from 10/3/2009:
VISIONS OF CLAIR (1977) is a Cal Vista Classic re-release on DVD of the 1977 VHS video. The box art description (in part) states - "A film in the style of Emmanuelle, but with a raw passion of The Story of O. Clair has a powerful, almost supernatural attraction to those about her. Living alone in her stately mansion, she attracts the most fascinating men and women to her estate, where seemingly bound her aberrant desires, they eagerly give themselves sexually to her and to each other." I like Annette Haven, she has done some excellent films and this description captured my interest. The only part of this description I recognized after viewing the film was "almost supernatural." A grossly unequal inheritance pits a lowlife real estate jockey, Ron Jeremy, against his super-do-gooder brother, Herschel Savage, and--of course, this being a porno--all manner of sexual machinations and hi-jinks ensue. review from 4/24/2009:
Joe Sherman's 78 minute EXPOSE ME NOW (1982, VCX-Cal Vista Classic re-release, 2008) sticks to its nutty premise and never really looks back; it's a surprisingly solid xxx comedy with a good performance by Ron Jeremy but numerous sex scenes with the lovely blonde Danielle boost the sexual energy up a few notches. It's going to take plenty of courage, hope, and sex (...and more than a bit of luck...) to keep open the "Feline Farm", a longstanding, Deep South brothel operated by Annette Haven, when a local preacher sics his Bible-thumping flock on the establishment. Taboo is one of the true adult classics from the golden age of adult films. Taboo combines a tawdry tale of family love with a great cast, good story, and an overall nice looking production to create a film that has stood the test of time in the annals of adult films. If you haven't seen it, Taboo is a must see and if you are a fan of the classics, Taboo is one that you will want to add to your collection. Standard Digital has done a nice job with their Special Collector's Edition release which is a definite upgrade from the prior Limited Edition VCX release with better image quality and some extras. Rick L. Blalock's
review from 6/22/2016:
The Good Girls of Godiva High opens up in the girls gymnasium when we are introduced to the loveliest set of young ladies any modern high school could produce. While scanning through an adult magazine and educating their minds, our young heroines discuss the possibility of changing their traditional Godiva High School dance to a more modern Disco Party. How to convince Miss Lena, the headmistress, played by Susan De Angelis is the girls' dilemma. That answer is provided by one of the boys who just happens to be her gardener. You will long remember the performances by Danielle and Daphne as they wear down super-stud Ian played by Bob Presley, owner of the fabulous Club 52, hottest disco in the city. [read the full review]

It's nearing the end of their time at the private, girls-only boarding school for the young (18+) ladies of Godiva High, and they all have their sights set single-mindedly on but one thing--going out with a bang...a disco dance bang, that is. While short on the cash and influence necessary to achieve their goal, the lasses do have one trusty trick up their sleeves (...or, should I say, in their panties...), and they aren't afraid to use it. Such is the case in "The Good Girls of Godiva High", an overall-good, 1979 release from VCX and director Jim Buckley. [read the full review]

The Betty Boop of porno past, the lovely and charming brunette cutie, Desiree Cousteau, has certainly led a colorful, sex-filled life if "Inside Desiree Cousteau", an exceptional 1979 release from Leon Gucci and VCX, is to be believed. In what may be the original "happy ending" release (...pardon the pun...), Desiree Cousteau, the brunette Betty Boop of Porno Past, unwittingly finds herself a part of a prostitution ring run by Paul Thomas, who offers to find the aspiring actress "jobs". Of course, the "jobs" are all hand-jobs, blowjobs, etc., as she soon finds out...and which suits her perfectly fine. So goes "Deep Rub", a very good, 1979 release from VCX and director Leon Gucci that is, as most Cousteau flicks were, a fun little fucker from the Golden Age of adult cinema. [read the full review]

review from 10/23/2004:
Most of what I wrote about "The Ecstasy Girls" also applies to this film. This is a 1982 Harold Lime production, directed by Robert McCallum. With Veronica Hart and Annette Haven, there's more star power in this flick, but the final product is not quite as good as the wonderful "Ecstasy Girls." The plot is "Ecstasy Girls" in reverse. Here, Georgina Spelvin is the publisher of a soft-core porn mag called "Panther," featuring centerfolds of smart college girls. Some morality guardians form a committee called Morality over Madness (MOM), and try to put Panther out of business. Spelvin has to round up her centerfold graduates to go out and seduce the committee members, retain evidence of the hanky-panky, and ultimately blackmail the members into ceasing their assault on Panther magazine. Running Time: Approx. 95 min (There are no scene indexes or time codes on the DVD) Cast: Annette Haven, Veronica Hart, Jesie St. James, Georgina Spelvin, Desire Cousteau, Lisa De Leeuw, Tara Aire, Jacqueline Brooks, Frank Hollowell, Richard Bolla, Michael Morrison, Eric Edwards, and Mike Horner (who isn't even listed in the credits) Director: Robert McCulum Extras: Photo gallery and Jump to a Scene (I guess this is actually an extra feature when you don't have chapter markings on a DVD) Audio / Video Quality: The audio and video quality is better than what I would have expected for an adult film this old. The video is average and the audio echoes in spots, but is much better than other adult films of this age, such as the Original Debbie Does Dallas. The Review: Centerspread Girls kind of reminds me of my youth. It revolves around MOM trying to stop porn (or at least not let me have it). In this case, MOM is Morality Over Madness, a moral majority group which has been trying to shut down Panther magazine for years. [read the full review]

review from 3/7/2003:
Here is a Harold Lime/Robert McCallum classic from 1982 that is still famous over 20 years later. It won six adult film critic awards, including best picture. Because it was filmed near the end of the "golden age," there aren't quite as many exterior shots as there would have been in movies a few years older. The plot involves a madam named Amanda (Veronica Hart) who, as a favor to her former pimp and lover (Jamie Gillis), sets up an S & M session for a local politician. The girls that she sends for this session (Lisa de Leeuw and Samantha Fox) are later found dead. R. Bolla plays the straight-arrow homicide detective trying to solve the case, without much help from Amanda. To make matters worse, there's a corrupt vice squad cop (Ron Jeremy) who is constantly getting in the way. By today's standards, this is couples' fare, with relatively short sex scenes, and loads of plot. It's so good-hearted, it could almost be on the Family Channel. Veronica Hart gets to over-act and ham it up ridiculously. It's a good movie, but a poor DVD. [read the full review]
