A very good, 1996 release from director Jim Holliday and VCA, this flick features a massive cast that''s a veritable who''s who in the industry of its era...all partaking in the Carwash Management program of the school''s hokey curriculum. Full of multiple short sex scenes and some longer ones (including an all-girl orgy), this production falls into line with other such offerings from the director during the time-frame. Club Sin Directed by Antonio Passolini Overall Impression "The first rule of Club Sin is you don't talk about Club Sin", while I'm going to break that rule so you won't have to watch Club Sin. I had high hopes for this title, being a huge Gere fan as well as being impressed with some Antonio Passolini's other works. After watching Club Sin I am hard pressed to believe this is the same Antonio Passolini that directed "Cafe Flesh 2", "DMJ5", and "Flesh". As far as capturing the sexual action Passolini does a horrible job in my opinion. There are a few powerful performances in this one that are "dulled" by his poor camera work. This disc is a real shame, because Ashlyn Gere, Gwen Summers, and Chole deliver, but Passolini fails to make the most of their talents. Raw speaks about the varying facets of the porn industry, drawing a sharp contrast between the productions of an Antonio Passolini (the writer/director) and the fuck flicks of Pierre, the director portrayed in the movie. I don't want to sound like I'm writing a college thesis here, but Raw is a lot more than plot, dialog and sex. However, I do have a aesthetic complaint about this film, which unfortunately cannot be helped due to the visual setting and theme of this movie. The powder white bouffant wigs which are placed on the head of every girl gets to be a bit much, and makes most of the girls lookalike. Overall, this gives one a good sense of what to expect within. The Main Event Overall there are eight scenes in this movie. There is a nice variety of action, ranging from female only scenes, to male/female parings, to three-ways and a seven person orgy on a table. The sets are interesting, as are the sets. There are scenes set in a castle, and others wich look like they were shot in a war zone. A nice change from the typical bar, poolside, or bedroom sets. It is a nice idea to be thorough but does anyone really care about the true history of the sorority, and the meaning of its Cajun roots and legacies? And what the hell is this time warp thing at the end with Jill Kelly's only dialogue in the film? But I do like the witty intelligence thrown in - especially the music references to Warren Zevon and "Lawyers, Guns, and Money" and Van Morrison's "Tupelo Honey" (those are a few topics I never thought I would encounter in erotic cinema reviews). Oh and the sex --- pretty good stuff - but too many blondes. The standouts are Gere, Ireland, Ashton, and Serenity though the bulk of the picture seems to belong to LaVeaux. Houston's hair was terrible but she gave a good fuck and I can't complain if Stacy Valentine is one of the blondes (though her makeup was terrible). Aha! As far as I can gather, the Upsilon Sigma Sorority has apparently been using voodoo rituals to kidnap fraternity guys to use them for breeding purposes. The girls stay young and fresh through depraved rituals, and use the guys for stud service whenever they feel the need or want children. I don't really see the problem, but I suppose the guys don't like being kept around and screwed silly every now and then. Whatever. Torn is anything but a feature. Aside from an amusing opening and a clever dialog between Ginger and Tina Tyler, Torn has little character development or plot.
