Note: This is a slightly
revised version of the review that was originally written in 1999. Plot Synopsis: Kylie Ireland and Chloe play young, immature witches under the tutelage of Tina Tyler. Kylie and Chloe spend the entire movie trying to cast spells to find love and, ahem, companionship. For the most part, they get their wishes to come true, but there is an occasional backfire that brings the unwanted attention of Tina. There's also a hint of a leadership struggle in the sect of witches the three belong in, but that never goes anywhere, and the movie ends abruptly without wrapping any of the plot lines up. It looks like a sequel begging to be made if you ask me. General Comments: A cross between the TV shows "Charmed" and "Bewitched," Mis-Spelled features some pretty credible acting performances from the three witches, Kylie, Chloe, and Tina. All three could easily handle parts in mainstream television with their believable delivery of lines and mastery of expressions. Everyone else's acting sucks in comparison! As I mentioned, the movie could have ended less abruptly, but otherwise the script was pretty good. Looks like they spent some money on digital effects in this movie to visualize the magic of the witches, ranging from making things appear and disappear to the casting of spells. Alex "Bodyslammin'" Sanders is credited for the effects editing. I wish, though, that they had spend some money for more than one location--it's really evident in this feature that a supposed second location is actually the same as the first. Also, I'm sure that they could have used regular condoms instead of the more expensive (and distracting) pink ones! ;) Notable Performances: Of the seven scenes, three, maybe three and a half scenes stand out. The first features Kylie and Chloe in a dildo fest that features some hot backdoor action with a strap-on. Kylie never fails to melt my heart with her sultry and innocent voice--if she hadn't made it in adult films, she would have made a goldmine as a phone sex operator! Chloe seems to really get into her sex performances. Although they might be over-the-top, her orgasmic performances (eyes rolling back into her head, panting, and grunting "coming...coming...coming!") are a refreshing change from the fake moans and groans from everyone else. The second notable scene features Kylie and Kyle Stone, who plays an infatuated suitor (a victim of one of Kylie's misguided spells). I don't care for Kyle Stone since his cock is so pale that it looks like it's devoid of any blood--it creeps me out! But he does a good job at eating Kylie out, the sight of which makes me shudder--in a good way. The third good scene is with Tina Tyler and Julian. Julian is one of my favorite actors, but in this one, he really could have used a haircut and a shave. The long, slicked back hair and mustache/goatee combination made him look like a real sleaze. Tina, who's been around in the business since 1992, looks really good. In fact, my favorite shot in the whole picture is the closeup on her jiggling breasts, mesmerizing in the way it shows the dynamic movement of completely natural boobs. The scene ends with a nice handjob that closes with Julian's cock looking like an ice cream cone. Finally, the "half of a scene" that caught my attention was the scene between Chloe and a guy who I swear is gay. The second half of the scene has Chloe going at it so hard that although his dick is inside her, she's fucking him--incredible! DVD Notes: Hey, VCA does a quality job on their DVDs, especially their professional-looking menus. The feature itself has a transfer that is without fault. Although there aren't many extras to speak of, the ones that are there (namely the photo gallery) are well-done. My only complaint other than the skimpy extras is that the back cover advertises "never before seen footage," which wasn't apparent when I watched this DVD. Since I haven't seen the VHS version, I don't know whether this disc does contain unseen footage or whether its a typo or just marketing fluff. Bottom Line: Another solid feature from Wes Emerson--the guy should be called "The Prince of Plot," since all of his movies have plots that were actually thought out, not just banged out. All that Mis-Spelled needed for near perfect score was one more scorcher of a scene or a decent plot resolution at the end. Recommended.
