Purporting to be (and in actually, it is) a "Star Search: Italian Style," the lack of onscreen talent far outweighs the talent that we've seen in previous Lucas Kazan features. The volume of the music varies a bit within the scenes, but it's well balanced with the sex sounds. Some audio noise and background sounds are present. In general, the volume is on the quiet side, though not intolerably so. False advertising: This is a subtle point, but both reviewer and Astroknight have mentioned that Tina Tyler should appear on the cover. I agree.

Review brief: China Box (Private Gold) Directed by Antonio Adamo Starring: Laura Angel, Sandra Kay, Dora Venter, Melinda, Petra Short, Veronica Carso, Alyssa, Barbarella, Black Widow, Luisa Lili, Sydnee, Leslie Taylor, Nick Lang, Mike Foster, George, David Perry In the prologue to this tale of an elaborately constructed revenge, the enigmatic, shadowy, mysterious, etc Mr X (Mike Foster) issues instructions by telephone to make sure invitations have been issued to a party, swiftly followed by a montage of shots apparently showing women arguing with Foster. Melinda and Black Widow, with David Three years later, so the voiceover says, and David Perry calls up a couple of girls to help take his mind off work. Melinda, a slim blonde who is no great beauty but has really found favour with me by dint of her sensational attitude (not that she gets to show that here), and Black Widow (what kind of name is that?), a gorgeous brunette with a fabulous tanned body, bring their sexy little selves over to Perry's flat.

Watching this one, I often felt that I was camping: my dick kept trying to pitch a tent in my pants! The photography is stunning, a quality I've come to expect from Lucas Kazan; but this time he has outdone himself with his choice of models against the wonders of Mother Nature. Thanks to the disc's Special Features, each and every one of the models are highly identifiable through a series of nine screens giving out vital - and I do mean VITAL statistics - for each of Kazan's boys. It turns out that two of the models are actually bakers! If their baking skills are as hot as their sexual proclivities, honey, I can't wait to sample their canoli. A five-minute slide show features a chosable "Director's Commentary," which also adds some informative anecdotes about the making of ACROSS THE OCEAN, as well as erotically charged photos from this film, as well as Kazan's follow-up, AMERICAN HOLIDAYS.

Initial Reaction: Its a pretty hot feature that does a great job of showing both Devon and Jules Jordan early in their careers. Who Should Watch It : Fans of Devon and Jules Jordan Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants high technical aspects Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty average for lower budget gonzo. The audio is pretty good, and normally clear, but theres more than a few background noises. The video uses the standard gonzo view as well as a POV perspective, and normally has a little bit of grain. There are quite a few lighting problems, but they normally only last for a few seconds before theyre corrected. Theres also a few of the usual soft focus problems, as well as a few relics and a bit of grain.

Initial Reaction: Who Should Watch It : Fans of all girl sex and fresher talent Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants to see heavily implanted and well known stars getting it on Audio /Video Quality: Pretty standard Ed Powers here. Ed is well known for his low budget approach, and things are no different here. The audio is pretty good, but sometimes a little off balance. Its often hard to hear the girls if theyre talking, but Ed is always loud and clear. The video is fairly clear with a kind of soft feel. Theres occasional soft focus problems, but they rarely last long. There are a few noticeable flashes of remnants, which occur a lot more often than Id like to admit.
