Initial Expectations: I have yet to see a bad, or for that matter, even an average, movie from Simon Wolf. I’m not expecting that to change here.

Initial Reaction: It’s more great adult fun from Simon Wolf, just as I’ve come to expect.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and without any sign of background noises. There are a few places where the balance is slightly off, but overall it’s about as good of a balance as you can hope for. The video is also very clear, and uses some nice changes in lighting from scene to scene. Many of them are a little on the dark side, but since many of the scenes take place in darker places, it adds to the mood rather than making the scenes seem cheap and poorly lit.

Music: There’s surprisingly little music in Naughty Bedtime Stories, especially for a couples feature. Throughout most of the feature you can hear all of the sex sounds clearly, but there’s a little music here and there to help the mood which is very nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The main menu has some great animation that gives the DVD a great first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene from a very small clip and a scene title. Upon selecting the scene you’re given another menu that lets you jump to a specific action in the scene. It’s a nice system, but unfortunately if you’re looking for a scene with a specific star, you’re not given enough to tell who’s who in the scenes. This could be easily remedied on future DVDs by adding the names of the performers to second menu screen.

The Feature: Simon Wolf has shown himself to be a very creative guy with his features. This time around he takes a step towards simplicity, and rather than building one of the great porn epics he’s become known for, he has Jessica Drake read bedtime stories of the adult variety. Some of them are twists on common stories, and some are new. Regardless, one knows that Simon’s going to do it with some great attention to detail, sex, and special effects.

In Excalibur, cute bleached blonde Violet Blue gets her quiet evening at home reading about King Arthur interrupted by the appearance of a shining sword, Merlin(George Kaplan), and finally, Arthur (Evan Stone), who apparently hasn’t had a haircut since the demise of Camelot. Evan quickly woos the fair lady with kisses for her wonderfully natural body, especially her cock socket, while guiding her foot down to give his skin sword a little polishing. Apparently her foot just isn’t doing the job Evan wants, so he has her spit polish it with some nice oral attention and enthusiasm. They finish things off with a little missionary work before Evan leaves his nutty goodness on Violet’s chest as a souvenir. It’s a great scene to start things off with. It’s a fun start, and there’s also some excellent chemistry and good heat.

He agrees to go with her on the condition that he gets one last fuck before leaving, and since she’s the only one that can see him, picks her. There’s some very good chemistry and some nice energy as well.

In That Witch is a Bitch, Ava Vincent finds her boyfriend replaced by Holly Hollywood, a witch they were watching on TV. When Ava’s boyfriend starts going down on her, he’s suddenly replaced by Holly, who tongues and plays with Ava’s twat as nobody outside of this scene has ever done before. Holly has a great smile most of the time, and also throws Ava some great eyes while working on her snatch, and is rewarded in kind. Ava hogs Holly’s honeypot, first sucking and licking her clit and then rubbing it vigorously and making Holly’s nipples stand at complete attention. Things build extremely well and Ava and Holly make this into a scene that feels like it could go on for hours without getting tiring. Unfortunately, this makes it feel a bit on the short side even though it does finish very well. It also shows that with the right girls, no toys are necessary.

In A Set of Balls, cute blonde Joelean gets her wish for a cock and balls when she’s changed into Mark Ashley, which pleases roommate Aurora Snow considerably. Three Wishes gives Tabitha Stevens just what she asks for, finally giving her the orgasm that’s been eluding her for so long. Micky Ray appears to grant her wish, and starts out working on Tabitha’s bald beaver with his tongue and fingers. There’s an unwritten rule about porn flicks. They’re supposed to suck. Well, yeah, that way, but in the bad way too. Thankfully, if somebody told Simon Wolf and Bud Lee this they didn’t seem to pay any attention. Naughty Bedtime Stories shows just that kind of disregard for most of the porn industry, and it makes it into another great winner. Where most studios would have Jessica Drake playing with herself between stories, here she’s just eye candy, which draws your attention all the more to the scenes, which is where your attention should be. The scenes themselves are all well done, and do a nice job of mixing a few of the traditional tales with new ones. This makes it familiar and yet new, and constantly fun. The scenes all have great chemistry and energy, and the heat rarely lacks in any of them. They’re further enhanced by some decent special effects in each story, and although they’re all fairly simple, they all enhance the overall story and make it all the more enjoyable to watch. Are they all perfect? No, I think there were a couple things that didn’t sit quite right with me while watching, but by the end of the movie, I had no clue what they were. Instead I had a smile on my face and a hard-on in my pants needing the loving care of Mrs. Knight, which is just what I hope every porn flick will do. Surprisingly, this doesn’t seem to be a fluke since Simon Wolf is consistently putting out some of the best adult features and DVDs around. Naughty Bedtime Stories is a great DVD, just don’t plan on rolling over in bed afterwards.

Extras: As with many of Simon Wolf’s DVDs, a second DVD is devoted completely to extras. There’s many of the standard extras, such as bios and trailers, but there’s also plenty of other extras such as interviews, bonus scenes, and behind the scenes.

As with the rest of Simon Wolf’s DVDs, the extras fill a second DVD. Bios are included for Ava Vincent, Chris Cannon, Aurora Snow, Nikita Denise, Evan Stone, and Holly Hollywood which last between four and sixteen minutes. The bios are handled as interviews and gives the stars a chance to talk about how they got into business, their first scene, favorite performers, hobbies, and what they plan on doing after leaving the business. Believe it or not, most of them want to move behind the camera after being in front of it. It’s a great way to do bios, and gives a nice feel for the performer as a person rather than just reading about them on a screen.

There’s also an eleven minute interview with director Bud Lee that’s every bit as fun as every other interview Bud’s given for Simon’s features. He talks quite a bit about how Simon drives him crazy, the dog, how Simon comes up with his ideas, the Simon Wolf Compound, and what’s yet to come from Bud and Simon. It’s easily one of the best extras on the DVD, and is freaking hilarious. It’s so fun that I now look forward to Bud’s interviews for the DVD just as much as I do the movie. It’s worth renting the movie just for the interview.

The blooper reel lasts about thirteen minutes. There’s plenty of flubbed lines, a few camera bloopers, a bit of shooting the softcore shots, and a few hardcore sex bloopers. It’s a decent blooper reel, and shows a little bit from each of the scenes.

Trailers and bonus scenes are included for Love @ First Byte, Dripping Wet Sex 1, and Blue Angel.

The bonus scene from Dripping Wet Sex 1 stars Tabitha Stevens, Gina Ryder, and Julian. The main gallery contains twenty one photos, while each of the others contain seven photos. The photos are laid out to display part of each one with a number next to them, and when you select the number you want, it blows it up to near-full screen size. It’s a kind of neat way to do it, and nicely sets it apart from other photo galleries out there.

Finally, there’s the behind the scenes featurette which lasts about eighteen minutes. There’s quite a bit of Bud Lee working with the cast and shooting the scenes. There’s also a bit of the stars between takes and the photo gallery being shot. Perhaps the neatest thing I saw was Randy Spears giving Allysin Chaynes the choice on whether he wears a condom or not. We all know that safe sex is important, but it’s really nice to see a studio giving the performers a choice about their body and health rather than forcing them one way or the other. It’s a pretty good behind the scenes, but with a couple minor changes could have been a bit better. First, it would be nice if the stars were all identified when they first took the screen. Yes, many of them are mentioned, but for newbies having the stars identified is a great little touch. Also, it would be great to show a bit of the stars between the takes since it’s always nice to see them as real people rather than just fuck bunnies. Evan Stone normally adds quite a bit of humor to a behind the scenes, yet it’s missing here due to this. It’s still a very good behind the scenes, but it’s a bit more of a documentary than a fun look back at the feature being made.

Overall: Simon Wolf’s DVDs can be found online for between $20 and $25. Once again, you really get your money’s worth. The movie’s fun and hot, the transfer is great, and there are a ton of extras. If you’re looking for some hot couples fun without the plot, you don’t have to look any further.

Note to Simon Wolf Productions: It would be nice if many of your menus would include a link back to the main menu screen. As is, it can be kind of a pain to go back through each menu to go to a different area. Other than that, keep up the great work!
