Sex World is a decent film to come from the golden age. While it isn't the best film that Anthony Spinelli made, it is far from the worst as well. Cry for Cindy is strong enough to warrant its own release and since they have included the softcore version of the film as well, this release is worth picking up alone just for that title. Anthony Spinelli had a thing for hookers. Well, at least he had a thing for making movies which involve prostitution. By far the best of these "hooker dramas" was his 1976 masterpiece, Cry For Cindy, which was as far as I am concerned, the very first attempt to actually deal with prostitution in a hardcore film. Confessions, made the same year as the far superior V-The Hot One, is another one of Spinelli's hooker dramas, but a far less successful one. Similarly plotted to V, Confessions involves a young woman who leaves her unsatisfactory marriage to pursue a career in prostitution. Confessions is not a bad film by any means. The direction, acting, photography, etc. are all quite good, but considering the similarity between its plot and that of the superior V, it leaves something to be desired in terms of originality... However, I still give this film a mild recommendation for it is never truly dull and actually yielded some good plot twists. SEX: Lots of it. A/V Quality: It's TVX, therefore bad. Anthony Spinelli's "Sex World" is a movie that I have been wanting to see for a very long time. I finally obtained a copy of this 1978 classic and the wait was well worth it. As an adult movie with a real plot and actors who could actually act, this film is effective on several levels: As erotica, a character study, and a psychological drama. There are many characters to keep track of here and the movie is practically a who's who of porn in 1978. The story revolves around a group of people taking a chartered bus to a resort known as "Sex World". The characters include Annette Haven as a lesbian left by her lover (Cris Cassidy), who comes to the resort looking for a heterosexual encounter; an adult movie enthusiast (Sharon Thorpe) who can't express her desires in real life; a racist (John Leslie) who is slowly seduced by black beauty Desiree West, and several couples having various sexual problems. "Easy" is a Golden Classic release by NuTech of a movie first released on film in 1979. The first thing that piqued my interest about this title was the prominent placement on the case saying all sex scenes are multiple angle. I was interested in where they found the extra footage and hoped this would be explained in the commentary. When the alternate angle icon showed up on the screen, I switched angles, to find that the "multiple angle" was merely the film reversed. There is no extra footage, and reversing the film has an interesting side effect, the lips don't match the voice. Throughout the rest of the movie, the angle icon becomes a constant reminder of the wool the studio tried to pull over the eyes of the viewers.Getting more into the action of the movie, this seems typical of 1970s porn and reminds me of Insatiable, another classic movie. Considering this is a film transfer, the video is surprisingly clear with good color reproduction.
