Sex World (VCX) Review

Review:
Mixing science and sexuality to help its clients fulfill their most intimate and deepest of desires, "Sex World" is a resort that ushers in groups of hand-picked tourists who are looking for a bit more out of their getaway than the standard vacation has to offer. Indeed, they're seeking sexual liberation and fulfillment--in one form or another--and Sex World is just the place to give it to them. Such is the case in Anthony Spinelli's 1977 release of the same title, a landmark film in the history of adult fare. Featuring a strong plot and exceptional casting, this flick feels as much like a low-budget mainstream movie of its era as it does a porno. While it won't be for everyone--particularly those fixated on the modern (and formulaic) concept of gonzo porn--it will certainly appeal to the nostalgically-minded out there who are looking more for carnal classics than they are for straight-up fucking.

In terms of the sex, Scene One is a flashback sequence featuring Kent Hall returning home to his artist wife, Leslie Bovee, after a long day at work. It doesn't take the pair long to forego the formalities and get straight down to business with the true pleasantries...those of a sexual nature. A quickie fuck follows...punctuated by both a bit of time and some plot elements...that ultimately culminates in the lovely Ms. Bovee sucking and jerking Kent to completion (oral cock clean-off).

In Scene Two--another flashback--Kay Parker and her impotent hubby, Jack Wright, attempt to get it on, but it doesn't work out. Their sexual situation (...or lack thereof...) is clearly causing them issues in their relationship.

Scene Three finds Sharon Thorpe donning a blonde wig and then giving Peter Johns a ring for some quick phone sex (another flashback). The two get off together...Sharon over and under her panties and Peter to a pop on himself...before Sharon has an abrupt change of heart, finding herself in a state of severe dismay over the entire affair.

In Scene Four (intercut throughout subsequent sequences to its detriment), John Leslie plays the part of the overly-masculine uber-male who needs to be dominated but has yet to find a female up to the challenge. Of course, the fine folks at Sex World know just what will get his crank yanked--whether he knows it or not--putting him in a jungle-themed room and ushering in the delectable, African-American actress, Desiree West. Apparently, Mr. Leslie's character has a bit of not-so-closeted bigotry to go along with his extraordinary ego, and it shows through in his various inappropriate comments to Ms. West. Fortunately, however, Desiree can give it as well as she gets it--playing the part of the strong, "jive-talking", stereotypical black woman of the era to perfection. While rife with racist banter, this sexy oral and vaginal sequence ultimately does pull off a message of racial harmony, all whilst Desiree pulls a spurting load out of John's member. (I guess that sex...not so much love...conquers all, and it does seem that Desiree West was right when she noted that John's "spigot ain't no bigot"). [The cuts and lengthy intervals interjected into this one do bring down its quality, though, which is a shame.]

Scene Five involves the lovely, Asian lass, Carole Tong, bringing home Kent Hall to her blonde, lesbian lover, Amber Hunt. As Kent's fantasy at Sex World, the two ladies get down to going down on one another quite quickly, before heading over his way and taking care of him. His initial hesitation melts away as his engorged cock melts...and ultimately pops...in their wanton mouths.

In Scene Six, Leslie Bovee's fantasies come true, as she's seduced by her neighbor's doppelganger, the lovely Abigail Clayton. Clayton pleasures her orally before this short girl-on-girl affair closes out.

Scene Seven (intercut with the next sequence) has Joey Silvera giving Kay Parker what she wants, a decent set of cock and balls and a nice, rough romp. In short order, Joey slaps her around a bit and unloads on her face and in her mouth during the opening BJ. He gets it up again and fucks her raw, despite her saying "no" and telling him to "stop". This, of course, is all part of her fantasy.

In Scene Eight, Maureen Spring helps Jack Wright get over his "momma" issues and, with them, those of his impotence. Maureen rides him in cowgirl to a quick orgasm in her hand and on her bush (oral cock clean-off).

Scene Nine finds the stern and guarded brunette beauty, Annette Haven, in her room at Sex World fantasizing about her ex-girlfriend, Cris Cassidy, in a brief, softcore, lesbian sequence. Roberto Ramos, a Latin lover whom Sex World has chosen for her, interrupts her daydream and makes his entrance. Ms. Haven likes what she sees but remains stand-offish as she strips down for him, revealing her stunning body. Ultimately, a soft and sensual fuck ensues, with the penetration shots largely ghosted over a softer version of the sex filmed from above.

In Scene Ten, the shy and introverted brunette, Sharon Thorpe, requests that her "Behind the Green Door" fantasy of getting it on with Johnnie Keyes be fulfilled. Of course, her wish is Sex World's command, and it's little time at all before her ebony beau for the evening makes his tights-on, cock-out appearance. He eats her to ecstasy and then slips her the big one. Sharon ultimately sucks and jerks him to completion on her face and in her mouth.

In all, this is a very good release that features an exceptional plot, strong acting, and decent (though brief by today's standards) sex. While those conditioned by more modern pornographic fare may be turned off, anyone interested in a trip to porn's past and the corresponding walk down mammary lane should take a look. In all, it's a worthy release and then some.
