Kelly the Coed 8: PiPi Pussy

Release date: 12/11/2002

Studio: Heatwave

Starring: Allysin Chaynes, Trevor [I] (ambiguous), Rick Masters, Mark Cummings, Jay Ashley, Mark Vega, Mark Wood, Alana Evans, Nadia Foster, Briana Banks, Ashley Sage, Guisseppe, Chris Evans, Dominica Leoni
Directed by: Jim Powers

Review brief: Kelly the Coed Part 8, while not an amazing feature by any means, just might be the second best of the Kelly the Coed series as of yet. The plot is weak but some work went into it, but be prepared for a lot of problems. The release is lacking in quality though.

Review brief: The Kelly the Coed series from Jim Powers and Heatwave continues to roll on, with each subsequent entry getting worse. The charm of the original has been completely tossed aside, as has actually shooting any footage at a campus at this point. Heatwave has also done a poor job with the release of the title. This is an easy movie to pass on.

Directed by: Colin Rowntree

Review brief: Succubus is a fun attempt at an adult and horror hybrid. While the movie doesn't always work, it is a worthy viewing experience. The sex scenes are shorter than the modern average and the movie features a rather well developed plot. Evil Motion has done a great job with the release of Succubus.

Directed by: Jim Powers

Review brief: Jim Powers' Kelly the Coed series keeps going despite Powers seemingly being out of ideas for the smattering of plot that he puts in each one. Some of the sex scenes are good, but one is kind of disturbing when you think about it. There is no real reason to pick up this title. Heatwave has given the movie a decent release on DVD.

Directed by: Jim Powers

Review brief: Kelly the Coed Part 6: Double Secret Probation is a new low for the Kelly the Coed series from Heatwave. Not only is this effort lazier than previous entries, significant portions of the movie have portions of the screen removed with purposely done pixelated out portions of the screen. Heatwave has done a lackluster job with the release to boot.

Directed by: Lew Xypher

Review brief: Malice in Lalaland is a great adult film, which was actually shot on film, a rarity within the adult industry these days. As the title indicates, the film is an adaptation of Lewis Carroll's work. However, instead of being a carbon copy of the source material with sex scenes, Malice in Lalaland has its own unique story. Although the sex scenes are much longer than those in the golden age of adult cinema, this is well worth watching. Miss Lucifer has done a great job with the release as well.

Review brief: Kelly the Coed Part 5 is another bad entry in the Kelly the Coed series. Kelly is still a freshman and is going to see her boyfriend of the day's father in this entry that would have been better had it been an all sex sorority themed movie. Heatwave has done a decent job with the presentation for the movie.

Review brief: Teenage Twins is a very quickly developed and shot film that only exists due to Carter Stevens finding twins that would perform together. While far from the worst to come from the era, it is also far from the best to come from the era. The release by Obsession Entertainment is better than the VCX release, sporting beautiful colors and a transfer which likely came from a film print.

Review brief: Taboo 7, which is really 1980's A Woman's Dream by Peter Perry, Jr., redecorated with a new title and new cheaply made computer generated beginning and end credits with a brief new opening narration with Randy West by Richard Mailer. A Woman's Dream isn't a bad film with a developed plot, great locations, some good acting, and nice sex scenes. Metro's release of the film is poor but sadly this is the only currently available way to see it.

Review brief: Xero is a frustrating movie to come from JacktheZipper. It is usually aesthetically beautiful displaying how well an adult movie can be shot. On the other hand, the pictorial narrative in the movie is confusing and likely to frustrate the viewer. Cobra Films has done a great job with the movie presentation on the disc but has skimped on the extras.

Directed by: Phil Marshak

Review brief: Dracula Sucks is an odd, high budget, and very fun adult film, which could have only come out of the 1970s adult film industry. While constantly trying to straddle the line of mainstream comedy and adult horror, and never 100 percent succeeding at any of these tasks, the end result is a unique experience that has a lot to offer viewers looking for more than just copulation. The print isn't perfect, but is better than any release prior.

Review brief: Chrissy the Campus Slut, a spin-off of the Kelly the Coed series, is sadly a bad adult feature movie. It follows the same formula as the movies that have come prior in the series. The movie is poorly shot and was obviously quickly put together. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one and rewatch the original.

Review brief: Waterpower is a bizarre film to come from Shaun Costello that has an even more bizarre release history. The TLA Entertainment Exclusive DVD contains two versions of the film on the disc. One called the original version and one called the director's cut. Neither is, to the best of my knowledge either the original version or the director's cut. The video quality is very good on the original version and varies from very good to poor in the director's cut. As of now, The Historic Erotica version appears to be the best release of Waterpower to have come out as of yet, but hopefully someday a definitive version will get released.

Review brief: This collection from Vinegar Syndrome gives us two of Phil Prince's shorter films for Avon and one film from an unknown director. None of the films in this collection are the best that Prince created during his short film making career before the Avon empire collapsed but they are still interesting to view. As per their normal, Vinegar Syndrome has good prints that they used for this release.

Review brief: Kelly the Coed 3 is the lowest entry so far of the Kelly the Coed adult movie series. The charm that the first movie pulled off has been lost here. The movie is further hampered by newer footage being added to the movie for this release. The DVD itself is lacking with a less than stellar picture and tons of phone sex adverts.

Review brief: Squealer is a hard movie to judge. There are some aspects to the movie that JacktheZipper did beautifully and others where he missed the mark. Ultimately whether this movie is right for you will depend entirely on what you are looking for in adult entertainment. Hustler's release for the movie is lacking but not so much as to not be worth picking up if you like the title.

Review brief: Wild & Wicked Wenches is a rather standard quickly put together compilation to come from VCA. The almost four hour run time gives twenty scenes but the scenes are unconnected in any way to each other. For those looking for a random sampling of scenes produced by VCA from the 1990s through 2000s this might be worth a look. The video quality is about what one would expect.

Review brief: This Isn't Christmas Vacation is the worst kind of parody in the adult entertainment industry. It is the kind that doesn't even attempt to do what it promises. The movie is basically four long sex scenes inspired by National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Devil's Film has a decent transfer but hasn't included any real extras and I can't recommend this title.

Directed by: Howard Ziehm, Michael Benveniste

Review brief: Flesh Gordon is a softcore parody of Flash Gordon, which combines the right level of camp, cheesy special effects, and ambition behind it to be a fun film, even though the originally conceived hardcore version was never to be. Fans of hardcore films from the 70s should find a lot of fun here, while also trying to find the blue screen actors and actresses from the era in the film hiding in the remaining close to hardcore footage. The DVD release from Hen's Tooth Video is better than previous home video releases but falls short of being a definitive release of the film.
