The Movie

Succubus is a hardcore and horror hybrid movie. Raven Riley (Raven Riley), the curator of a museum has to head to her grandmother's old home in Leeston, Indiana. Joe Ames (Tom Leach) is building a new horror amusement park “Uncle Joey's Terror Town” and has unearthed demon Lilith (Liz Vicious) in the process. Riley, a descendant of Eve, is the only one who can kill Lilith, with the help of Kevin Baxter (Kevin Baxter), the chief of police.

The movie was shot in Ohio and Indiana, which gives the movie a different look than most of what is coming out from the adult entertainment studios, since we see different locations than California has to offer. A great amount of work went into crafting the non-sex portions of the movie. The use of a haunted house as the main setting was a great choice and not one that I think I have ever seen in adult before.

The cast is a mixed bag. Liz Vicious is great in her role, as the unholiest of seductresses. She manages to give the right sultry look to explain why men loose all regard and want to fuck her, even when she is bathed in blood. Raven Riley isn't as great with her lines as Vicious, at times looking like she is struggling to get them out. Tom Leach and Kevin Baxter both do a good job with their roles. Ron Jeremy is strangely only in the movie for about a minute. The sex scenes are well done. They are shorter than in your average adult feature made in modern times, so they work far better in a plot oriented adult movie.

Unfortunately the budgetary limitations of the movie can be seen. There are portions where the movie looks like it pushed the limitations of the cameras that were used to shoot the movie. Some of the horror effects unfortunately look on the cheap side as well. As are some of the video effects within the movie. This isn't an attack on the movie, it looks like they did the best they could with what they had available for funds. It would have been nicer if the movie had a larger budget though.

The ultimate result is a cheesy but fun movie, which isn't on the scary side but is definitely worth watching. Sadly, this is the only movie to be released by Evil Motion and Colin Rowntree, the owner of Wasteland.com, doesn't seem to have made any other feature movies. The effort that went into this movie shows and it would have been nice to have seen more ambitious projects like this to have come from Rowntree or Evil Motion.

The Edition

Evil Motion has done a great job with the release of Succubus. The movie is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of approximately 1.85:1. The picture looks great throughout the entire presentation with nice colors and no glitches to be found. Succubus is presented with an English 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround track, which sounds great and works beautifully for the movie.

Evil Motion has included several extras on the disc. There is an eighteen minute behind the scenes piece o the disc, which gives a nice overview of the production. There is a “miscues and photos” feature which has outtakes followed by production photographs. There is an alternate ending, which runs for just under two minutes. There are also two trailers for the movie.

Final Thoughts

Succubus is a fun attempt at an adult and horror hybrid. While the movie doesn't always work, it is a worthy viewing experience. The sex scenes are shorter than the modern average and the movie features a rather well developed plot. Evil Motion has done a great job with the release of Succubus.
