Review brief: The Image is one of the most erotic adult films to have come out of the golden age of adult films or any other time period, despite not having much for actual hardcore footage within the film. Radley Metzger does an amazing job of building the eroticism and the intensity of the film from low at the start to high at the end. This film is a must see for any fans of plotted adult films. Synapse has done a beautiful job with this Blu-ray with a stunning transfer of the film.

Review brief: SuperCock, or High Fashion Models as the film was called when it originally was released, is not by any means a good film. The plot is horrible, the dialog is cringeworthy, the sex scenes are poorly shot, and the acting is bad. To top it all off, Historic Erotica's release of SuperCock is abysmal with a transfer that I would question if it is actually considered watchable that has been dumped on a DVD-R. This is an easy skip even if you are an ardent fan of the film.

Review brief: Vinegar Syndrome has put together a good pairing of films with their release of Bella and Robins Nest. Bella is the highlight of the set and is worth the purchase all by itself. Vinegar Syndrome has added a nice piece from Carter Stevens on Bella as well. The second film, Robins Nest, isn't as good as Bella is but one can think of it is a free extra since Bella is worth the price of admission alone. Vinegar Syndrome has done a beautiful job with this release both films sport beautiful transfers.

Review brief: Bella is a dark but incredibly well made adult film that looks beautiful, has great acting, and a multitude of sex scenes. This film from one time director/writer Alexander Kubelka is a must see who like their adult entertainment to be more than just erotic. Arrow has done a horrible job with this release with horrifically poor video quality.

Review brief: As far as being a feature movie, Naked Eyes is a failure. There isn't enough of plot here to really justify calling this a feature movie. As far as being an all sex movie, Naked Eyes is also a failure since the movie does spend time with the lack of a plot the movie puts around the movie. The sex scenes are average at best making Naked Eyes an easy movie to skip. Classic X Collection has done a poor job with this release as well with what appears to be a VHS tape transferred to DVD.

Review brief: Honestly I can think of no reason why anybody should subject themselves to the atrocity that is called Palm Springs Girls. This mid-80s movie was clearly made by people who had no experience in adult movie making and no real plan on how they were going to tie what they shot together. This movie quickly becomes a torturous task to watch. Classic X Collection has done a horrible job with the release of Palm Springs Girls as well with a transfer that fights to be worse than the original production was. Don't waste your money or time on this.

Review brief: Aphrodisiac!: The Sexual Secret of Marijuana is an early adult film masquerading as a documentary about pot. The documentary is completely made up and does offer the viewer any real information. The sex scenes aren't done very well either. Overall, Aphrodisiac!: The Sexual Secret of Marijuana isn't a film that is worth watching. Impulse Pictures has done a good job with the release but the print is rather beat up that causes some video and audio issues.

Review brief: Justine & Juliette is a fun Swedish adult film comedy from Mac Ahlberg that tells the story of vice and virtue giving a new twist on two of The Marquis de Sade's novels. Xploited Cinema and Impulse Pictures have done a good job with this release with a nice looking transfer, the original Swedish audio, and English subtitles.

Review brief: The Only House in Town is a mess of a film that seems to have run out of money and been packaged together with whatever was shot at that point. The story is almost incoherent and the film is riddled with mistakes. The sex scenes are poorly shot. This release from Mr. FAT-W Video contains only the softcore version of the film and the disc itself is poor as well with a subpar video presentation and poor audio. This is an easy title to skip, even if you are a fan of Edward D. Wood, Jr.'s other adult films.

Review brief: Score is a beautiful and lavish adult film but it will not be to the liking of some viewers. Most of the sex scenes within the film are softcore and the only hardcore sequences feature gay sex. However, the film has a good story that entertains the viewer, the cast does a good job, and the film looks better than most adult films do. Cult Epics has done a good job with this release with some excellent special features and a beautiful image. The audio isn't up to the par of the rest of the disc though.

Review brief: Let Me Count the Lays is an early adult feature film which is composed mostly of previously made loops and scenes from other existing films. Walt Davis did a good job of stitching together the scenes to create a film with a narrative that could almost pass itself as a new film and is far from the worst that came out from the era. As to whether the film is worth watching, I guess that depends on the viewers themselves. Caballero has done a decent job with the video and audio on this release but heavily skimped on the extras.

Review brief: Refinements in Love is a hard film to recommend or to suggest passing on. It is one of the early adult films that is made to appear like a documentary, despite all of the documentary footage being fake. It is one of the more coherent efforts from Carlos Tobalina, but it still suffers from his haphazard nature of putting together his films. While there are some amusing moments and some nice sex scenes, the film also runs too long for what it is trying to do. Impulse Pictures has done a good job with this release with a nice looking, albeit cropped picture, but it does have some issues with the color.

There is no real reason to want to seek out this compilation. Classic X Collection has done a poor job with the release apparently just using a VHS tape for a master for the compilation disc.

Review brief: The Little Girls Blue series is a fun enjoyable adult film series that features the girls from an all girls boarding school and their antics at the school and at a summer camp. Fans of plotted barely legal adult films should find both films to be enjoyable. As far as this box set goes, VCX took their two individual disc releases and put them into a box for this set with nothing else included. The transfer for Little Girls Blue is acceptable but the transfer for Little Girls Blue Part 2 is in bad shape. Sadly, as of now this is the best way to get the two films. Hopefully at some point another company will put out a better release of both of them.

Review brief: Vinegar Syndrome's All Night at the Po-No is a collection of 12 quickly and cheaply made early 70s Los Angeles made adult films. A lot of what is presented here after one viewing you will never want to view again. There are a few others that will stand up to repeated viewings. Vinegar Syndrome wisely decided to make the cost not to expensive so it doesn't matter that a lot of the films presented here are duds. The few winners make up for it. The transfers aren't up to Vinegar Syndrome's usual standards but all the films are watchable. Vinegar Syndrome did miss the mark a little on the disc authoring and the extras included. If you like adult films from the transitional period from softcore to when hardcore films started getting actual budgets, you'll want to check this set out.

The Erotic Adventures of Hercules was quickly made, not well written, and fails to keep the viewers attention. Bijou's release of The Erotic Adventures of Hercules has come from a beat up print with audio issues that appears to have been most recently sourced from a video master.
