The Movie |
Little Girls Blue is one of the barely legal adult films that came out in the 70s during the slew of barely legal sex comedies that came out from adult and mainstream film companies at the time. Little Girls Blue is one of the better of the adult efforts within this genre to come out. In Little Girls Blue, friends Misty (Casey Winters), Kathy (Samantha Morgan), Buffy (Elaine Wells), and Marium (Lori Blue) all attend the Townsend School for Girls. At Townsend, the girls are more interested in extracurricular sexual learning than hitting the books.
The plot works well for moving the film along without making the viewer feel insulted by the plot. There really isn't much to the plot. When it is analyzed later, it is seen to be paper thin relying more on events and character development than any major story arc. However, this story arc does work perfectly for Little Girls Blue. The film is entertaining and honestly flies by fast.
The cast does a great job, with their nonsex portions and with staying completely in character for their sex scenes. The sex scenes are well done. They all fit within the plot and aren't long enough to pull the viewer out of the film but are long enough to be erotic and not to leave the viewer feeling cheated. The sex scenes look nice and have great energy.
The whole film looks good actually. The film has great locations picked out that add to the atmosphere of the film. The majority of the film was shot at the Dunsmuir Mansion, which has also been used in Phantasm and A View to a Kill, among other Hollywood titles. The film was well shot and looks like its non-graphic sex mainstream counterparts.
Little Girls Blue is a must see feature adult film from the 70s. The story is fun and the cast does a great job. Little Girls Blue will leave you wishing they still made adult features like this one.
The Edition |
This release from VCX isn't bad. Little Girls Blue is presented in the academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The transfer was sourced from a video master and not a film master. Color reproduction is very good there are a couple of places that the color appears faded for a second or two or becomes over saturated but it usually looks proper. The image is in good shape sporting grain, artifacts, print damage, a jump or two, and an occasional glitch in the video. There are some issues with haloing in the image. Overall, the image isn't bad. It isn't the caliber you would get from Vinegar Syndrome but is is better than most of the discs that VCX has released.
Little Girls Blue is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 monaural track. The audio track is fine sporting an error free presentation with no dirt or glitches that can be discerned. Dialog is clear and can be heard at all times.
VCX hasn't included any extras on this release.

The Movie |
Little Girls Blue — Part 2 is much the same as its predecessor Little Girls Blue, as one might expect. This time around, the girls from the Townsend School for Girls are on their summer break and at Camp Townsend. Marium (Lori Blue) and Buffy (Elaine Wells) return from the first film and have new friends Tawny (Kathleen Kristel) and Sandy (Shirly Duke). At camp, the four are far more interested in sexual activities than they are in the normal camp activities.
Like its predecessor, Little Girls Blue — Part 2 doesn't have a ton going on in the plot department. The plot is rather thin and allows for numerous sex scenes to happen. Unlike some adult films with thin plots, the plot works in this case. While the plot isn't overly complex, it is fun and doesn't bore the viewer, nor does it feel shoved in just to be able to call the film a feature.
The sex scenes fit well within the plot and never seem forced. The cast stays in character during the sex scenes and everyone seems to be having a good time while performing. The sex scenes look nice and viewers that don't require circus acts shouldn't be disappointed.
The film is well made and carries on the same stylistic tendencies from the first one. The film is nicely shot and utilizes great locations that give the feeling of a summer camp. The daydreams are similar styled to those in Little Girls Blue but are not just repeats of what had already been done.
Overall, Little Girls Blue — Part 2 is a worthy sequel to Little Girls Blue. Unfortunately all the principle cast members don't return in this venture but some do so it does feel like an actual sequel instead of just carrying on the name of a popular adult film. For viewers that enjoy the genre, Little Girls Blue — Part 2 is well worth seeing.
The Edition |
VCX has done a poor job with this release of Little Girls Blue — Part 2. Little Girls Blue — Part 2 is presented in the academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1. VCX obviously used a video master for this release and a poor one at that. The image contains jumps, grain, artifacts, and print damage. The colors are washed out. The video presentation here isn't going to make VCX any new fans.
Little Girls Blue — Part 2 is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 monaural track. There are no real noticeable issues with the audio track. Dialog is clear and can be heard at all times and there are no defects that could be detected.
VCX hasn't included any extras on this release.
Final Thoughts |
The Little Girls Blue series is a fun enjoyable adult film series that features the girls from an all girls boarding school and their antics at the school and at a summer camp. Fans of plotted barely legal adult films should find both films to be enjoyable. As far as this box set goes, VCX took their two individual disc releases and put them into a box for this set with nothing else included. The transfer for Little Girls Blue is acceptable but the transfer for Little Girls Blue — Part 2 is in bad shape. Sadly, as of now this is the best way to get the two films. Hopefully at some point another company will put out a better release of both of them.
