There are some rules for making an adult movie spoof. First off, don't spoof a bad movie with a budget even smaller than the bad movie had. Hire some good writers to spoof the bad movie; random scenes do not make a spoof. And a parody should be funny.

Plan 69 From Outer Space breaks all of these rules. The movie tries to be a spoof of Edward D. Wood, Jr.'s 1958 low budget schlock fest Plan 9 From Outer Space. Wood, Jr.'s film was a low budget mess but this low budget adult movie is even more of a low budget mess than Wood, Jr.'s was.

In this adult version of Wood, Jr.'s story, Klatspoo (Woody Long) and Feck (Blake Palmer) come to Earth from the planet Dwarken to kidnap humans. They then plan to put the brains from the humans they have kidnapped into replicas and take over Earth. On Earth, they run into Major Biff Bummer (Peter North), an airplane pilot, who has to save humanity.

While he may never have been a good filmmaker, Wood, Jr., always tried to make a good film, even if he wasn't successful. In this spoof of Plan 9 From Outer Space the film never tries to be good. The film spoofs the low budget nature of Wood, Jr.'s film but does so in a way that just makes Plan 69 From Outer Space look cheap.

Despite some of the cast members having acting talent, no one is ever able to show it in this ramshackle production. The acting comes across as horrible but that makes no difference because the story is horrible as well. The movie doesn't really follow Plan 9 From Outer Space and like many adult productions from the time, the story is just to get from one sex scene to another, there is no real reason besides that. Most of the humor in the movie falls short or completely misses its mark. The sex scenes never rise above average either.

In short, Plan 69 From Outer Space is a rather poor attempt to spoof a rather poor film and sadly there isn't much worth watching here.

Caballero has done an acceptable job with Plan 69 From Outer Space. Plan 69 From Outer Space was shot on video and it is presented in the academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1 in 480i. The transfer contains glitches in the video, a blue band on the left side of the screen, and haloing. Color look good. The video is watchable.

Plan 69 From Outer Space is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track, which sounds fine for the material being presented. The audio seems to give an accurate reproduction of the source materials and the dialog can be heard at all times.

Caballero hasn't included any extras on this release.

Plan 69 From Outer Space is, unfortunately, a bad adult movie attempt to make a spoof of Plan 9 From Outer Space; despite trying to make the movie a comedy Frank Marino has failed at the comedy and managed to actually make a bad adult movie. Caballero has done an acceptable job with this release.
