The Movie |
Kelly (Allysin Chaynes) has returned for another entry in Jim Powers' Kelly the Coed series. This time she is still yet again a freshman, despite her comments at the end of part four about looking forward to being a sophomore. The finals must have been the end of semester one finals. Maybe she will be a sophomore by Kelly the Coed — Part 9. Then again with how much time Kelly actually spends in the classroom, she may never become a sophomore.
In this outing Mark (Mark Vega), a TKE fratboy, asks Kelly to go with him to meet his parents. Only his father (Mike Horner) ends up being home. At State University other PiPi girls fuck TKE fratboys. Despite having the subtitle Home Coming [sic], homecoming is only mentioned once by one of the TKE fratboys almost at the end of the movie.
While Powers seems to be working on making some more scene set-up than he has in most of the previous entries into the series, the movie is still disjointed and the sex scenes virtually unconnected to any semblance of plot. The movie is filled with bad acting and cheesy porn movie situations. Sadly the series is getting to the point that the bad dialog is actually getting in the way of the sex.
Powers is even cutting down on his shooting at an actual college, removing the actual college feel that earlier entries were able to convey giving the more generic adult movie feel. The attempts at humor within the movie usually fall rather flat, like Kelly flying up when she tries John West's weights. The sex scenes aren't bad, but they aren't worth sitting through the rest of the movie to get to.
The Edition |
Heatwave has done their standard job for this series with this release. Kelly the Coed — Part 5 is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The picture is decent and clear throughout but shows the limitations of the video masters. Before the movie starts after hitting play are phone sex adverts, which are skippable. Kelly the Coed — Part 5 is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track, which is acceptable. The dialog can be hard to hear at points of the movie, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. There are also dubbed German, French, and Hungarian language tracks presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo.
Heatwave has included the standard extras for this series on this release. There are two angles for each of the sex scenes available. There is a —Meet the Stars— feature, with video footage and a picture for Allysin Chaynes, Layla Jade, Briana Banks, and Justine Reage. There are solo scenes for Allysin Chaynes, Layla Jade, Briana Banks, and Justine Reage. There is a nine minute behind the scenes piece on the disc as well.
Final Thoughts |
Kelly the Coed — Part 5 is another bad entry in the Kelly the Coed series. Kelly is still a freshman and is going to see her boyfriend of the day's father in this entry that would have been better had it been an all sex sorority themed movie. Heatwave has done a decent job with the presentation for the movie.
