Expectations My expectations of comps are generally lower than those of regular releases. Also, because it is Adam & Eve, I am expecting a fairly average compilation here. Capsule Review This disc lives up to my expectations, with one twist. The technical quality of the picture is seriously degraded from the original DVDs the scenes were taken from. Other than that, this is a very average compilation DVD. Technical In order to squeeze over 3 hours of scenes onto this disc, they must have had to compress the video drastically. It shows. The quality in some scenes is worse than VHS. Prologue When this title was announced, I had an immediate interest in it. I don't think it's a groundbreaking concept, as I believe that Shane's World, Sex Across America, Misty Cam, and even Nacho Vidal's gathering of stars before shoots all fall into the same vein. It can also be seen as an episode of Real World done without censors. Still, it's a good idea, and could bear the fruit of a good gonzo. These people are all pornstars, and as such, know that they're expected to have sex, so I don't think there's going to be too much suspense about "will they or won't they". The cast here is filled with women I don't know much about, with the exception of Keeani Lei. The goofy Hawaiian could be a comic wild card here and prove to be a lot of fun in this casual environment. I've heard a lot about Joanna Angel and am anxious to see her in action. With House of Ass Tristan Taormino has accomplished her stated goal handily: shes created pornography you can enjoy on an intellectual level and will almost certainly spend hours discussing with friends but which can (and will) just as certainly get you off. Whats so compelling about the film is the way in which Taormino ignores the trend toward exploitative faux reality porn wherein guys trick girls into blowing them for money in the backs of vans to create real reality porn. Taormino uses a loose documentary style that takes us back to the vibe of the first season of The Real World when reality TV seemed, for a brief and flickering moment, like it might actually matter. Like the best documentaries this film draws you into its story, makes you care about its characters (who are, in this case, all attractive enough for a lesser director to simply exploit sexually without context) and, amazingly, actually gets you invested in the sex they have. These guys need to change there name from Adam & Eve, to Adam and C. The C would stand for compilation. I live in Seattle, and people from out of town ask how I deal with the rain. I tell them that it rains more in Vancouver Canada to the north, and Portland to the south, so ask them. That being said, they should ask Adam & Eve cause theyre causing a flood of biblical proportions. One thing I will say is that Adam & Eve has such a robust catalog that not only are there compilation welcome, but good. I like most of the women in this title and once again I am surprised that I havent seen these scenes somewhere else. Sure, a couple come from the Amateur Angels line but 95 of these scene were new to me. Being an anal fan, this title is solid gold. Some of the girls in this title are Anal Queens, and some of them are doing a rare anal appearance. Some scenes are with condom, and some without, but the heat factor here is high. An outdoor comp from A&E, this one ends up missing the mark because the sex is rather lackluster. Mika Tan is in this release, and being one of my absolute favorites, I was looking forward to her scene more than anything else. But, with Alex sanders as her partner (not a personal favorite), and the fact that she doesnt seem to let loose here, even though she is taking it as deep as possible up that wonderful ass of hers, just made her scene a disappointment. Maybe it was her partner, or being outdoors, which is not the easiest fucking that can be done. The rest of the disc has a very couples-friendly feel to it, so you know what that means. No hardcore slamming, no all-out lez action (even though a scene does take place outdoors), and no true masturbation material for the raincoaters out there.
