The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Adam & Eve has been doing a pretty good job on their compilation DVDs lately. Although I don’t like a lot of comps, I normally go into theirs with fairly high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s a nice selection of scenes, but I’m a little surprised at how many white women are here.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: Normally one doesn’t expect compilations to have consistent technical aspects, but Jet Black Booty comes pretty close. Most of the audio is nicely balanced and clear, but there is a little dubbing. The video varies a little, since some of the scenes are from movies that are a little older, but for the most part there’s very little grain in the video. The lighting is also pretty good, although there are a few shadow problems.

Music: The music varies quite a bit throughout the feature, both in balance and style. There are a few places where the music completely overpowers the rest of the audio, and some scenes don’t even have any music. This helps to give the feature a nice variety of styles.

Disc Problems / Complaints: There’s no time stamp, which always ticks me off as I like to jump around in movies some after watching it the first time. To give Adam & Eve some credit, however, they have contacted me about this in the past. I’m told that their in-house system doesn’t allow them to put a time stamp, but that it’s something they hope to change in the future as many people there also like having a time stamp. I’m assuming that this is also why Jet Black Booty is a two-sided DVD rather than a single sided DVD. Although I don’t like missing the time stamp, I have to respect them for at least admitting that they’re not perfect but wanting to improve in the future.

Menus: The main menu is almost unanimated, but does have a little minor animation that gives it a decent first impression. The chapter menu is pretty standard and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

Jet Black Booty is the latest in Adam & Eve’s compilations. This time, the focus is black people. Sometimes only one person in the scene is black, and sometimes the scene is 100% black. Regardless, you’re told before each scene where the scene comes from and who’s in it in a very tasteful way that doesn’t interfere with things at all.

Scene 1 - Kitten and Mark Davis

Kitten and Mark Davis start things off with a scene from Guilty as Sin. She quickly gets the message and drops down to suck his cock with some very nice energy and no shortage of spit. Scene 5 - Shakespeare and Julian

Shakespeare, a black woman who I’ve never found too attractive before but who doesn’t look too bad here, and Julian St. Jox get it on in a scene from Amateur Angels 9 next. Julian licks her slit before fucking her face, where Shakespeare coughs fairly often as Julian puts it a little too far in. Scene 6 - Alexis Amore and Lexington Steele

Jet Black Booty is a nice selection of scenes with black people in them. The scenes are spread over a nice range of times, rather than being all older scenes or all very recent scenes, which helps bring a few different styles into the feature. The scenes are also nicely introduced, so you know where the scenes came from, and are short enough that the introductions don’t make you feel like they’re going on forever. My biggest complaint is that the cover makes it appear like this is going to be basically an all-black sex compilation. Yes, Keri Windsor is in two photos on the back cover, but they’re also from the same scene and she’s the only white person shown or even mentioned on the entire cover. Yes, Dee is Puerto Rican rather than black, but many people consider her to be a black person so I can’t blame Adam & Eve too much for including her, especially when her scene is with black Mark Anthony. This is a pretty minor complaint, but it is something that I think will annoy more than a few people. I hope they can get beyond it because Jet Black Booty is a nicely done compilation that shows some nice thought and care towards the viewer.

Currently, many of Adam & Eve’s compilations can be found online for $8 and $20. At this price, this is a great compilation for anybody looking for a little darker sex action. There isn’t really any extras, but it’s a long compilation with a nicely done transfer.

Note to Adam & Eve: A few more chapters would be great here. At the very least, I’d like to see one chapter for the pop shot and another for the clip that lets you know where the scene comes from and who’s in it. I think the informational clip is great, but I’m sure that some people just want to get down to the sex. Giving the info clip its own chapter lets those people easily skip it and get to what they want to with the minimum hassle.
