Initial Expectations: In addition to just plain being hot (a trait that seems to run very strong in her family), Ava Rose has been turning out some very nice scenes and good movies. I'm looking forward to this one.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty average. The audio often has a nice balance, but just as often seems to be a little off. There aren't any sloppy background noises, but the locations provide a bit of noise that comes more forward due to some of the balance problems. The video is nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. It has just a touch of grain, while the lighting goes everywhere from being dark and a bit shadowy to nicely lit. There's also some artistic effects with the lighting that just didn't work for me.

Music: The music is nicely balanced with the rest of the audio, but has a style that goes between generic new porn feel and annoying porn music. At its best it had a neutral effect on the scenes.

Menus: The main menu nicely works through a few shots of the oh so hot Ava to land on the still from the boxcover with a little nice animation in the background. The chapter menu is very generic, and just lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number rather than giving you something useful, like the girl in the scene.

The Feature

Upcoming filmmaker Eric Masterson sets his sights on upcoming adult film star Ava Rose for his next project. She turns out to be a bit more elusive than he thought, but Eric refuses to give up as he and his cameraman fight and fuck their way through a bevy of porn stars and their stories to try getting to the real Ava.

Scene 1 – Candice Cox and Eric Masterson

When Eric shows up at Ava's, sexy brunette Candice greets them at the door in some sexy cream colored lingerie with a sour disposition and agrees to let them in. After Eric watches her strip down and change into a black bra, panties, and stockings, she attacks him and throws him back on the couch to kiss him and make her way down to suck his cock. Candice gets up for a cowgirl ride before the action cuts to her getting her bald beaver boned missionary style. It moves on with a little doggie fucking before she finally gets down to take a very nice load from Eric in and around her mouth.

This is an okay scene. Candice's attitude didn't help the scene much to start, and she looked a bit bored through much of the fucking. If that isn't enough, it was further held back by the editing. The scene had a very choppy feeling and combined with Candice's attitude it never let the chemistry develop too much. This scene just didn't do much for me even though Candice was kind of hot.

Scene 2 – Ava Rose, Riley Mason and Johnny Castle

Ava heads into a bedroom wearing a little red lingerie and starts getting it on with Riley as she lies on a bed and Johnny sits back on a chair and watches. When he tries to come up and join in she tells him that he'll get his turn and has him sit back and watch as she kisses Riley and lets her hands explore her. Ava gets on all fours and lets Riley fingerbang her before Riley breaks out a pink dildo to fuck her with. When Riley has her all warmed up Johnny moves in to fuck Ava doggie style. Unfortunately, the scene was very dark and tried to get a bit artistic with some colorful lighting. The editing also seemed a bit choppy and held things back a bit again. I wanted to like this scene, but the style just kept getting in the way for me.

Scene 3 – Riley Shy and Franco Del Toro

Hot auburn haired Riley tells Eric she knows Ava so she can get it on with his cameraman Franco. She kisses him before dropping down to suck his cock, and then lies back so he can tongue her twat. This isn't a bad scene, but it just doesn't have that spark to take it beyond the average mark.

Scene 4 – Tyla Wynn and Chris Cannon

Eric chats with Tyla, who sits back in a brown top, tan skirt, and black fishnets as Chris makes eyes at her and changes the subject to ass sex. Eric gets out of the way so they can get at it. Tyla climbs onto his lap so he can kiss her mouth and tits before getting up so he can lick her ass. She lies back so he can eat and play with her pussy before rolling to her side so Chris can work on both of her holes. Sadly the lighting is a bit low and the camera work a little shaky, which holds the scene back a bit from what it might have been. This scene makes it above the average level, and might even be my favorite scene in the movie, but still feels held back by the style and technical details.

Scene 5 – Ava Rose and Eric Masterson

After kicking Eric and his cameraman out when he tries to do an on-set interview, she makes him come back and meet her in a 'natural environment'. She lies back on a couch in a black dress with a fountain with green lights in it behind her. When Eric asks her about liking pussy, she starts to blow up again and then tells him that she likes pussy, but likes cock more and will show him. She throws Eric back on the couch and kiss her way around his chest and mouth while working his cock out to suck that as well. Ava gets up to ride Eric reverse cowgirl style before letting him give it to her lying on her side. Ava mixes in a bit more oral action, and finally gets down to take a very nice facial finish.

This scene might make it a touch past the average level. As usual, Ava looks great, but her attitude at the start just didn't work for me even though she does get into the sex quite well afterwards. Once again I also just couldn't get past the style here. For being shot at night the scene isn't overly dark, but the colored lighting just didn't do it for me. I really wanted to like this scene, but I just couldn't get too into it once again.

It's All About Ava is quite possibly the weakest movie I've seen so far from Ava Rose. James Avalon normally makes nicely done features with a very nice emphasis on the sex while Ava shows some nice acting ability and great sexual energy. Sadly, very little of the movie actually worked for me. To start with, the plot seemed to be more about the people who claim they know Ava than trying to focus on Ava (either the real Ava or one created for the movie). There's plenty of personality from Ava throughout the movie, but most of it makes her far from likable until the ending credits rolled. It also wasn't helped by Eric, who's normally nicely reliable and amusing (in the good way), but here just came across as annoying during the plot sequences while still doing a decent job with the sex. The biggest problem for me was the style of the movie. The editing is very choppy while there's plenty of colored and low lighting throughout the sex scenes. I often like it when directors play with the visuals a bit, but here it just plain annoyed me. It's All About Ava is a forgettable movie ended up being more annoying than anything and had very little of Ava Rose in it.

The Extra Stuff

Two photo galleries start off the extras, a production gallery lasting about three and a half minutes and a glamour gallery lasting nearly four minutes. In each case it pans around the photo for about six seconds. I absolutely hate this way of doing a photo gallery, and dumped it almost immediately. Trailers are included for O: The Power of Submission, Carmen's Dirty Secrets, University of Austyn 2, Rawditions 2, Black In White 3, Tailgunners, The More the Merrier, and Carmen & Austyn. There's also a bonus scene, a behind the scenes featurette, and commercials.

The interview with Ava lasts about five and three quarter minutes. Candice starts things out talking about being a bitch in the movie and preparing for the scene before a few words with Sharon Kane and Charlene the make-up babe. There's also a little time with Ava, including some wonderfully free sandwich making, before a few words with Riley Mason as she talks about a net geek. Riley Mason also gets plenty of time as they work around her scene before returning to Ava. This is a pretty good behind the scenes featurette. There's some nice personality around the set with the camera focusing nicely on the personalities rather than showing the cameras run as they the scenes are shot. My biggest complaint about it is that it's presented in anamorphic widescreen with a fair amount of full frame ratio footage mixed in.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts over a half hour. Ava talks about getting in the business and being a shy person as well as a few of her porno firsts as she got into the jiz biz. They also chat about her breasts and being a dirty girl before Ava has one last chance to show off for the camera. This is a very nice interview. Ava comes off as nicely natural and real, and seems like a heck of a nice babe as well. If you're a fan of Ava or just want to know more about her, make sure you check this featurette out.

Bonus Scene – Ava Rose and Jean Val Jean

The bonus scene comes from Double Trouble. When Ava and Jean hook up, they quickly get on with the kissing, stripping down, and exchanging oral favors. Currently, many of Adam & Eve's DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $25 with a few stores offering them near the low end. Rent this one first or aim low. The movie seems unoriginal except for the more artistic style that just didn't work for me. The technical aspects come off as being pretty average despite an anamorphic widescreen transfer, and there's a bit of effort put into the extras. Maybe I went into this one with too high of expectations due to Ava being involved with it, but It's All About Ava came off as a forgettable movie on a DVD that showed just a touch of care.

Note to Adam & Eve: Although this one didn't really work for me, it was nice to see you still putting in such nice effort towards the overall DVD.
