Cox, John Decker Directed By: Thomas Paine Porn translations of mainstream movies are almost always parodies. Why? Because it's downright silly to think you can rip off a good movie, turn it into porn, and still take yourself seriously. That's exactly the case of The Last Tango, however, which is "inspired" by The Last Tango in Paris, the classic Bernardo Bertolucci movie where Marlon Brando famously (and sadly) seduces Maria Schneider into a sexual affair. Ah, but porn is about sex, and not plot, right? So, why does it matter? It matters because it's a wasted effort and if you're a mainstream movie buff, then you end up feeling like a Led Zeppelin fan when Puff Daddy covered Kashmir. If you count yourself among Alexandra Silk's fans, you not only would have good reason to do so (she has great energy), but you'd also be hard pressed to find a DVD that displays her as much as this one.

Review brief: Cast: Roberto Reggiani, Dario de Concini, Mauro, Gianni Palermo, Rene Forenzi. This is truly an all-Italian ensemble. We saw a couple of dvd movies released by Italian director Lukas Kazan such as Hotel Italia and Journey to Italy. Uomo Italiano however is nowhere close to the high quality attained by those titles. I can only say that its a genuine effort by the director although the movie failed in many areas due to the directors lack of experience and amateurish actors he recruited. All the dialogues are in English, but some actors are fluent in English, some can barely utter a few words. The plot is made up roughly. A psychologist tries to solve his patients relationship problems. Everyone comes up to the appointment with his personal story from which we are presented with different episodes of sex scenes.

Review brief: Pre Viewing Expectations The case for this movie shows some women in bikinis and summarizes the plot saying it is about a bikini contest. It goes on to say how the girls will use all of their weapons to sway the judges. None of the photos are explicit, so one doesn't know what type of action to expect. The Main Event This movie has a totally female cast, just right when you are wanting some female/female action. These women get down to business, in one scene using a chair for an interesting position. A strap-on dildo gets quite a workout in the opening scene. The artful way she used the strap- on made me wonder if she didn't have a bit of penis envy. She handled it about as good as any of the guys in a porno movie. Of couse, in a chick only flick, there's going to be a lot of fingering. Not just one finger, or even two, but eight of them at once in one scene, wow! This was followed up by some tit on clit action, something I haven't seen before. This led into some toe in twat action, also quite unexpected and strangely erotic.

Review brief: Who can resist Stacy Valentine? Blonde, dangerously curvy, fresh-faced and cute as hell, this babe is a wet dream (and well-fed) Barbie doll come to life, which is not unusual in porn, but Stacy definitely has a charm which will work on even the most ardent brunette fans (such as myself). Initial Expectations: A brainless movie with good sex. Initial Reaction: If there was any less plot, it'd be a compilation movie. At least the sex was really good. Review: With both Celeste and Kylie Ireland in 'Sexy Nurses 2', I knew I had to watch it. Like most of Celeste's movies that I've seen, there isn't much plot, but the sex makes up for it. 'Sexy Nurses 2' revolves around Woody Long and his attempt to get money from rich guys who are close to dying.

Review brief: The cast: Matt Bradshaw, Steve Peirce, Brad Davis, Peter Wilder, Paul Morgan, Paul Carrigan, Justin Woods, Doug Jeffery, Sean Martinez and Keith Hanson. As a sister sequel of Glory Holes of San Francisco, this one is a lot disappointing. If you expect the holes in LA as glorious as in San Francisco, think again. In general, this sequel lacks the intense sexual energy as you feel in the prequel. The cast is weaker. You have to admit that Marcus Iron and Blake Harper are both shining stars in the GHSF. However, Matt Bradshaw and Steve Pierce is certainly not even a close match in GHLA. Neither is anyone in this movie that can lift you up to a higher level. The music is also annoyingly incompatible in the background. That said, nevertheless for people who are really into glory holes, this may still be a movie to fulfill their fantasy. First Scene: Steve went into a sex club. There is this area surround by walls of glory holes. He started immediately sucking on the cocks that sprout out of those holes.

Review brief: HABITS OF THE HEART is a straightforward, five scene, no frills porn video which is absolutely average in terms of both content and value. Porn superstar STACY VALENTINE, popularly known from her acclaimed interactive disc from VCA called CHASING STACY, appears in three of the sex scenes on the disc, and is prominently displayed on the cover jacket. Obviously, this video is meant to appeal to her hardcore fans, allowing them to view some "older" [as in age of the videos, where she is obviously younger] Stacy appearances before she became a VCA contract girl. The one really big advantage to getting DVDs of her earlier work is that there are usually no condoms intruding in on the action, and sometimes, a healthy oral/facial is always a possibility. Please note that I watched this on my ten year old Sanyo 20" TV, so I can't be too objective about the video quality. Audio Quality: Average. Once again, nothing special, but everything syncs well with the video. Extras: Photo Gallery, Bios of the stars, 'multiple angles', trailers, and web link. There are an amazing number of trailers included and there are cast bios on almost every person in the movie. The 'multiple angles' is the typical Vivid style where they take you to another point in the scene rather than a different angle. In a few cases, you did switch to a different point of view, but not often.

But any diehard fans of such veteran performers as Max Grand, Hawk McAllister, Alex Wilcox and Sweet Williams, may enjoy the movie too. Review brief: Pre Viewing Expectations The case of this DVD yields few clues as to what lies within. All the viewer has to go on is the title of the event, and a listing of the extras. There is not summary of the plot to be found. Also, the photos on the case are non- explicit, so the viewer has no idea what to expect. The Main Event I was mislead by the name of this movie. I expected the typical Black Widow theme, woman mates and then kills her mate. In truth, she never kills anyone. The plot is weak at best, and at times doesn't make much sense. They wrap up the lose ends during the final scene, but there just isn't much there. The guys playing the cops give poor performances, making it obvious they weren't hired for their line delivery. The movie has seven scenes in all, a mix of female/female, male/female, and a foursome where three are females. Of all the actors, Jenna Jameson gives an eager performance, but the rest of the women seem to be a bit flat and uninterested. I found my interest drifting during the movie.

Review brief: Overall, I found this disc to be a bit distrubing. There are four mini plots within, which have no connection to each other. Each one touches on a subject that is either taboo or borderline taboo depending on how one sees the scene.The disc starts off with a feature called "The Cartel". First we see text which describes the scene, much like the opening of the Star Wars films. I had a bit of trouble reading it as is flew by on the screen quite fast. There is also a fair amount to read, so expect to rewind a bit and try again. That or figure a leadin to a porno isn't necessary and not to worry about it. The scene opens with two drug dealers trying to agree on a price for a drug shipment. Unable to agree on a price, one of the guys brings in a 19 year old to aid in the dealings. She is told this is for a business deal and to do her job. Sounds a bit like prostitution to me. The acting in this scene seems a bit forced and unconvincing. I also had a hard time believing she is 19.

When it comes to his videos, you definitely get your bang for the buck with a roster of current adult superstars and quality production. This DVD is loaded with supplementary material including a "Behind The Scenes" featurette, interviews, and other extras, all of which are a nice and thoughtful touch. Featuring top talent like Tiffany Mynx, Jill Kelly, Shayla LaVeux, Felicia and many up and comers, there is no doubt that Jim Holliday and VCA do not cheat on giving the consumer what they want on a little silver platter. However, as the old adage goes, quantity does not mean quality. The problem with this feature is that Jim Holliday directs it with almost no imagination whatsoever. The sex scenes are straightforward, well-shot and well-composed, but boring.

Review brief: Directed by Alex De Renzy, "Pretty Peaches 3" garnered much in the way of critical and popular acclaim when it was first released back in 1989. Now, over a decade later, the video holds up only middlingly well despite it's "classic' status. I am not at all sure if today's "XXX-Generation" (those who maintain a steady diet of Max Hardcore and Sodomania) videos will have the patience for it. Shot on film, the DVD is much sharper and has better colors than its original VHS incarnation. For an old-timer like me, it was great to see actresses like Rachel Ryan, Victoria Paris, Tianna and Keisha back in action, although their best work has yet to hit DVD.The movie follows Keisha "on a quest for spritual enlightenment," but her encounters are more physical than anything else. Despite the fashion period of that time, Keisha looks great in just about every scene she's in. However, for whatever reason, Director De Renzy has chosen to mute her sexual performance and the results are disappointing.

Review brief: The Plot: What plot? It's a gonzo, so by definition we have no plot. There is this theme of someone with a handheld video camera peeking in windows and watching people have sex. It kind of runs like this: we start with a view from the handheld camera which apparently only shoots in black & white, and with a flashing "[REC]" in red in the corner. I suppose we are to believe that we are watching this through the viewfinder. We watch as our perverted cameraman approaches and films the characters in the scene getting within striking distance. At that point, we cut to a more traditional porno angle, and in color. Every now and then we cut back to the long shot from the "black and white" camera, just to remind you that someone is watching. The cameraman will duck around a bit, trying not to be seen, to add realism. Uh-huh. Sure. I'll admit it right now, I'm not a really big fan of gonzo. In fact, this is my first review of a gonzo film. Since I always include a plot section, I am a bit at a loss for what to say here. Let me just say that I miss my porn plot. Sigh.

Review brief: The Plot: First, let me say that they did a good job on the opening credit sequence. I just wish it carried throughout the film. Alexandra Silk is writing a book about fetishes, and today she's researching stockings. This is really just an excuse to show us lots long legs in sheer stockings, and of people having sex with stockings. The format is very simple to understand: Alexandra is shown doing something mundane and you can hear her say something about stockings that is supposed to be insightful. We then cut to some completely unrelated venue, where two people have sex to some lousy synthoporn music. Simple, but effective. The Cast: Starring Alexandra Silk, Shay Sweet, Emily Jewel, Kelsey Hart, C.K. Blade, Allysin Chaynes, Claudia Chase, Ian Daniels, Billy Glide and Mark. Pretty average porn stars, in my opinion. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about porn stars to recognize most of them on sight, so I had to guess who was performing in what scene. Allysin Chaynes and Alexandra Silk were easy to pick out, but that's about it.

I can only say that its a genuine effort by the director although the movie failed in many areas due to the directors lack of experience and amateurish actors he recruited. All the dialogues are in English, but some actors are fluent in English, some can barely utter a few words. The plot is made up roughly. A psychologist tries to solve his patients relationship problems. Everyone comes up to the appointment with his personal story from which we are presented with different episodes of sex scenes.

Review brief: Pre Viewing Expectations The case of this DVD yields few clues as to what lies within. All the viewer has to go on is the title of the event, and a listing of the extras. There is not summary of the plot to be found. Also, the photos on the case are non- explicit, so the viewer has no idea what to expect. The Main Event I was mislead by the name of this movie. I expected the typical Black Widow theme, woman mates and then kills her mate. In truth, she never kills anyone. The plot is weak at best, and at times doesn't make much sense. They wrap up the lose ends during the final scene, but there just isn't much there. The guys playing the cops give poor performances, making it obvious they weren't hired for their line delivery. The movie has seven scenes in all, a mix of female/female, male/female, and a foursome where three are females. Of all the actors, Jenna Jameson gives an eager performance, but the rest of the women seem to be a bit flat and uninterested. I found my interest drifting during the movie.

Review brief: Overall, I found this disc to be a bit distrubing. There are four mini plots within, which have no connection to each other. Each one touches on a subject that is either taboo or borderline taboo depending on how one sees the scene.The disc starts off with a feature called "The Cartel". First we see text which describes the scene, much like the opening of the Star Wars films. I had a bit of trouble reading it as is flew by on the screen quite fast. There is also a fair amount to read, so expect to rewind a bit and try again. That or figure a leadin to a porno isn't necessary and not to worry about it. The scene opens with two drug dealers trying to agree on a price for a drug shipment. Unable to agree on a price, one of the guys brings in a 19 year old to aid in the dealings. She is told this is for a business deal and to do her job. Sounds a bit like prostitution to me. The acting in this scene seems a bit forced and unconvincing. I also had a hard time believing she is 19.

Review brief: Directed by Alex De Renzy, "Pretty Peaches 3" garnered much in the way of critical and popular acclaim when it was first released back in 1989. Now, over a decade later, the video holds up only middlingly well despite it's "classic' status. I am not at all sure if today's "XXX-Generation" (those who maintain a steady diet of Max Hardcore and Sodomania) videos will have the patience for it. Shot on film, the DVD is much sharper and has better colors than its original VHS incarnation. For an old-timer like me, it was great to see actresses like Rachel Ryan, Victoria Paris, Tianna and Keisha back in action, although their best work has yet to hit DVD.The movie follows Keisha "on a quest for spritual enlightenment," but her encounters are more physical than anything else. Despite the fashion period of that time, Keisha looks great in just about every scene she's in. However, for whatever reason, Director De Renzy has chosen to mute her sexual performance and the results are disappointing.

Review brief: I bought this movie pretty cheap at a local computer/electronic store. Julia Ann, someone that I wasn't too familiar with was on the cover and she looks pretty slutty (hot). The backcover says Celeste was suppose to be in this film but she was not. This was a big disappointment. The firm and huge breast on Julia Ann makes up for this disappointment though. Review brief: The Plot: What plot? It's a gonzo, so by definition we have no plot. There is this theme of someone with a handheld video camera peeking in windows and watching people have sex. It kind of runs like this: we start with a view from the handheld camera which apparently only shoots in black & white, and with a flashing "[REC]" in red in the corner. I suppose we are to believe that we are watching this through the viewfinder. We watch as our perverted cameraman approaches and films the characters in the scene getting within striking distance. At that point, we cut to a more traditional porno angle, and in color. Every now and then we cut back to the long shot from the "black and white" camera, just to remind you that someone is watching. The cameraman will duck around a bit, trying not to be seen, to add realism. Uh-huh. Sure. I'll admit it right now, I'm not a really big fan of gonzo. In fact, this is my first review of a gonzo film. Since I always include a plot section, I am a bit at a loss for what to say here. Let me just say that I miss my porn plot. Sigh.
