Review brief: This film is a sequel to the earlier "The Hotel". The hotel is a place somewhat like Brigadoon that appears and disappears. It is a place where one can fulfill one's sexual fantasies. "The Return" finds humpy Michael Crawford in an asylum. He was found wandering about in the desert nude and appears to be in a state of shock. He has lost his lover Paul at the hotel. His psychiatrist Thom Southern has an erotic dream about Michael in which he makes passionate love to him. (Foot lovers will be ecstastic to see the way he sucks on Michaels toes.) The plot now kind of goes fuzzy, but the sex remains top of the line. There is a hot sauna scene with Vince Bandero topping the director, David Thompson. A bondage scene with Michael. A hot threesome with David Pierre, Jordan Austin, and Brad Davis in which David gets a champagne bottle inserted into his rectum and Brad gets double-fucked by Jordan and David. The final scene with Thom Southern and Will Clark cannot hope to keep up with the preceeding, but they go at it like Bulls in heat.

Audio/visual quality: The visual quality is usually quite satisfactory, with clear and easily seen action. There are minor ongoing problems with soft focus, too much backlighting, a bit of graininess, intrusions of equipment at the edge of the screen and a couple of off-camera directions. These are issues that might be expected for a gonzo production, however, and they aren't too bothersome. The music typically has a light, easygoing island flavor that supports the scenes. When the performers are near the surf, the live sex sounds sometimes get a little lost, but I'm sure that couldn't be helped. There are no problems whatsoever with wind noise during any of the outdoor scenes.

These are issues that might be expected for a gonzo production, however, and they aren't too bothersome. The music typically has a light, easygoing island flavor that supports the scenes. When the performers are near the surf, the live sex sounds sometimes get a little lost, but I'm sure that couldn't be helped. Apparently, Asses High replaces his previous Ass Quest series, which was released through a different company. Between the performers, the location (a Budapest suite), and the style of filming, I found it to be an almost equal blend of the works of John Leslie, Nacho Vidal, and Christoph Clark. Think of Leslie minus the voyeurism, Nacho without the crazy energy, and Clark with less finger and toy butt-stuffing. Asses High will remind you of the movies of all three directors, without blatently copying them, leaving a pleasant air of familiarity. Note that while the back copy says, all anal, Mandy Bright does not partake of any back door action, aside from getting a finger briefly up that orifice.

Review brief: All in all, Tatiana Trilogy DVD Pack is a mixed bag. The sex is great, the cast good looking and effort went into the locations, costumes and props, but the plot and audio tracks are lacking. If you are interested in owning the Tatiana Trilogy, the Limited Edition DVD Pack is the way to purchase it, as it provides the best value to the customer. Viewers who like adult films with a historical setting, nasty sex and plot based films will get the most enjoyment from this series. Viewers who like tame sex or hate plots in adult films will want to avoid this series. As this DVD pack is rather expensive, if you are interested in it you might want to rent it first. Unfortunately, if you already own the series from the previously released single discs, this pack offers nothing new but the sampler disc which can be obtained by itself cheaply online.
