Initial Expectations: Jim Holliday normally puts a smile on my face and a tent in my jeans (well, actually the girls in his movies do that part). I’m not expecting anything different here.

Initial Reaction: It’s pretty good compared to most of what’s out there, but not even close to Holliday’s best work.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants beautiful girls taking it up the ass and getting a lot of rim jobs

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who thinks the ass has no place in sex or who wants a sensical plot

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are just a little short of VCA’s normal high standard. The audio is pretty clear and well balanced, but there is a bit of bad wind noise in some of the outdoor sections. The video is very good, with barely a hint of grain. The lighting seems a bit softer than some of Holliday’s other features, but it doesn’t hold the feature back at all.

Music: Jan and Derol and the Steamrollers provide the music this time around (which a little help from Reno and the Rumrunners), but there’s no need to fear as it’s the same surfer style that Jim Holliday’s fans have come to know and love. Surprisingly it isn’t in every scene, but that also helps because it draws you to the music a little more.

Menus: The main menu is pretty standard, and thankfully contains some of Jim Holliday’s movie music rather than the standard VCA menu music. The chapter menu is nicely done and lets you jump to specific positions in each scene, all of which are shown with a small clip from each scene and the name of the leading lady in the scene.

The Feature: Jim Holliday and his angels are back, and this time heading out to the desert for some surfing. No, it doesn’t make sense, but that’s not what you’re supposed to be thinking about in a Jim Holliday movie.

Hunny Butter opens things with Alex Sanders on some inflatable furniture. Hunny starts out getting a good tongue fucking from Alex for both her holes before sucking his cock and giving the camera some great eyes. Surprisingly, Alex goes straight to the A, first fucking Honey’s ass missionary style and then reverse cowgirl. Finally, Hunny takes Alex’ nutty goodness on her chest. It’s a very hot opening scene that makes me think Hunny would have had a nice career in front of her if she would have stayed in the industry. This was her first anal scene, and she took it with the same ease that most people make coffee.

Next up, Raylin gets busy with Mark Ashley after losing a surfing bet in the desert. She sucks his cock before laying back to let him fuck her missionary style. She turns around for Mark to fuck each of her holes before finally taking Mark’s pop in her mouth. It’s a darn hot scene with great chemistry. Just like in the previous scene, the anal comes extremely naturally, and makes for a great scene.

Ricky Roberts takes his real life wife Tawny, as well as Shayla LaVeaux and Monica Mayhem, next. Ricky starts out eating Shayla and then working his way down the line before Shayla takes the lead reciprocating while the girls form a train behind her. Shayla finishes the oral antics before Monica takes the lead fucking Ricky in reverse cowgirl. Tawny follows her up with some doggie style for her bald beaver before rolling over for Ricky to fuck her ass. Finally, Ricky pulls out and replaces the hair missing from Tawny’s bush with a creamy coating. It’s a hot scene, but I can’t help but be a little disappointed that Shayla didn’t get boned.

Hunny Butter joins Felecia and Lexi Lamour in their secret clubhouse next for some lesbian labia lapping and an ass eating extravaganza. Felecia starts out working her way between Lexi and Hunny, before the girls team up on each other. Hunny gets the first turn having her pussy licked and ass eaten at the same time while in pile driver, followed by Felecia and Lexi. After a little attention for Lexi’s toes, the girls finish things up eating each other in a line. In a very unusual touch for Jim Holliday’s lesbian scenes, this one felt like it had a lot more to go. Normally he finishes things up much better than this, but the rest of the scene is still just as hot as I’ve come to expect from him.

Next up, Selena Steele, Petra, and Katie Morgan take on Mark Ashley in the surf shack. Selena disappears after helping the others suck Mark’s cock, leaving him to eat their ass. Katie takes the first fuck, starting in missionary and then moving into reverse cowgirl, before letting Mark take Petra from behind. Finally, Selena returns to take Mark on missionary style as the others leave, as well as spooning him before she also leaves Mark by himself to finish himself off. It’s a nicely different end that also adds a nice bit of humor in. I have some mixed feelings about how the scene itself went, since it was hot but seemed a little odd with the girls coming and going.

Felecia and Lexi Lamour return, this time to take on Tawny Roberts. Tawny starts off eating Felecia’s ass, before the girls move around to make sure nobody’s left out for any length of time. It’s a short scene and once again feels cut off. I think this scene might be the biggest disappointment I’ve had from Jim Holliday in many years.

Finally Mark Ashley and Hunny Butter get busy after a little desert surfing. Mark quickly goes to work on her pussy and ass before letting her lick and suck her way around his cock. Hunny lets Mark fuck her missionary style before he bones her ass from behind and gives it to her in reverse cowgirl. Finally, they finish things up with Hunny collecting Mark’s nut butter on her tits. It’s a pretty good scene, but once again, it feels a little short. Hunny shows herself to be a real trooper throughout the scene. You can tell a few times that she isn’t having the best time taking Mark in her ass, but she never seems to shy away from it either. Sadly, it sounds like she’s not around anymore, because as Jim Holliday states early in the commentary this girl could have been a contender.

Melted Pink is another decent feature from Jim Holliday, but definitely not his best. There isn’t really anything of a plot here, which isn’t uncommon for Holliday’s movies, but it’s a little stranger than most of his movies. Most people don’t watch Holliday’s movies for plot, but there’s enough stuff here that I couldn’t help but feel like I should try to put some semblance of a story together out of it. The sex is pretty good, but not quite up to the high standard I’ve come to expect from Holliday. Many of the scenes felt very short, and strangely, his lesbian scenes feel like there’s a lot more to go. Sadly, Shayla LaVeaux’s part in the movie also feels like a glorified cameo. On the plus side, Hunny Butter easily stands out at the top of Melted Pink, partially because she has three scenes here and even more so because she does a great job in all three scenes. Melted Pink isn’t Jim Holliday’s best movie, but it’s still worth the hour and a half it takes to watch it.

Extras: As with most of Jim Holliday’s features, there’s multiple angles, all of which appear to be true multiple angles. In a very nice touch, you can choose whether or not to have the multiple angle icon shown. Bios containing a photo of the star, a little personal information, and a link to the star’s scene are included for Tawny Roberts, Selena Steele, Shayla La Veaux, and Felecia. Trailers are included for Little Town Flirts, Floss, Eye Candy Refocused, Perfect Smiles, Brown Eyed Blondes, and Paradise Hole. The photo gallery lasts about three and a quarter minutes with about ten seconds per nice looking full screen photo. There’s also the usual contact and internet information.

The main extra, however, is a commentary with director Jim Holliday as well as Selena Steele and Monica Mayhem. It’s a pretty good commentary, but Selena and Monica don’t have the chemistry with Jim that many of his other angels have. They talk about the making of the movie, including many of the problems they encountered, as well as the cast. It’s a better than average commentary, but still lacks compared to many of the other commentaries on Jim Holliday’s movies.

Raincoat Factor: Very high

Overall: Currently, most of VCA’s DVDs can be found online for between $17 and $25 with most stores offering them for about $20. If you’re a fan of Jim Holliday’s work, this is going to be well worth the money. Jim’s gone a little weird with the movie itself, but the sex is still as good as one expects. The technical aspects are up to VCA’s normal high standard, and there’s a nice commentary to round things out. The only complaint I can see anybody having here is that the feature is much shorter than most of Holliday’s features.

Note to VCA: The credits say that Wit Maverick shot behind the scenes footage. It sure would have been nice to see it here. I know you’re really putting some effort into day and date releases, but I think most people would be happy to wait another week or two if it meant a few decent releases.
