Initial Expectations: Bob Chinn has made some great movies, as well as some not so great ones. I’m not really sure what to expect here, but the cast gives me some hope.

Initial Reaction: It’s one of the better couples features I’ve seen lately.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is normally clear and well balanced, although there is a little bit that’s on the soft side. The video is much the same way. It’s lit nicely throughout the feature and only has a little grain, but does show a little pixelation in places.

Music: The music has a soft and sexy feel that fits great with the movie. It rests nicely in the background and enhances the scenes nicely.

Menus: The menus are fairly basic. There’s a couple clips from the movie in the main menu and the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a still from the scene and a scene number.

The Feature: Lee Stone is back, and once again dealing with plenty of people wanting the jade goddess statue. To start with, there’s Anthony Crane and Kyle Stone, who’ve escaped from prison and still want their major score. Then there’s the trio of assassins consisting of Tina Tyler, Mia Smiles, and Mia Starr who have just come in from Hong Kong. It’s not going to be easy for Lee, but that’s part of being a private dick.

Lee Stone starts things off with his new temporary secretary Dee, one of the best looking things to come out of Puerto Rico in a long time. Dee drops down to suck Lee behind his desk before laying back on the desk so he can lick her slit. They move on through some missionary and doggie before things cut magically (complete with the magic sound effect) to Lee decorating Dee’s great natural tits. It’s a good scene, but borderline softcore. In fact, the scene felt more like it was being shot for softcore than hardcore. Dee and Lee put some nice energy into it, but I never had any problem looking away from the screen during the scene.

Kyle Stone and Anthony Crane team up to take on Autumn Haze next. It’s a pretty good scene that works the group around extremely well.

Autumn Haze pays Lee Stone a visit next claiming to need to see if the rumors are true about him. They nicely exchange oral favors before Lee works Autumn’s pussy through most of the common positions. It’s a pretty straightforward scene, with Autumn taking a nice facial to finish things up. Autumn and Lee both get into things nicely, and make it an enjoyable scene.

Anthony Crane and Kyle Stone take on Dee in Lee’s office for the penultimate scene. Dee gets in the middle so she can suck Anthony’s cock while Kyle licks and fucks her from behind. Finally, Tina Tyler and Lee Stone hook up after he gives them the jade goddess and they exchange a little philosophy. It’s a hot scene with Tina either having some great orgasms or showing some of the best acting talent around in the adult industry once again. It’s definitely a great scene to finish things up with.

Daughters of the Dragon is a nicely done couples feature, and even has some nice outtakes at the end. The sex is sometimes a little on the soft side, with some of the scenes feeling like they’re being shot more for softcore than hardcore, but does have nice chemistry in the scenes. The plot sequences are also nicely done, with decent acting, a nice storyline, and some good humor. The two blend together to turn Daughters of the Dragon into a porno that works well to introduce somebody to porn without worrying about having too much stuff to scare them off.

Extras: Trailers are included for Jade Goddess, Naked Angels, Daughters of the Dragon, and Blonde Fury. The main extra, however, is a half hour behind the scenes featurette, which nicely identifies everybody as they take the screen. It nicely blends together the talent working with Bob Chinn and each other on the scenes, shooting the photo galleries and scenes, and screwing around on the set. It’s a very nicely done featurette with some great interviews. My only complaint about the entire featurette is that sometimes the video’s a little grainy.

Overall: Currently, most of New Era’s Peter Magnum DVDs can be found online for between $17 and $30 with a couple stores offering it at the low end. This is a pretty fair price for what you get here. The movie is well done and has nice technical aspects, and the DVD has a decent behind the scenes featurette. If you’re at all interested in this one, give it a chance.

Note to New Era: You did a nice job here, but a little polish here and there would go a long way. At a start, animate your menus, let the people know who’s in which scene in the chapter menu, and give the feature a few more chapter breaks.
