Temptation is 20, slim and tanned and of some mixed heritage that gives her an interesting look, while blonde Alexis is a very pretty and slim girl who I just enjoyed in Joey Silvera's New Girls.

So the term "New Girls" could be somewhat subjective; indeed such is the industry's insatiable demand for new faces to fill the profusion of new releases, it's not surprising some of the girls in this first installement of Joey Silvera's new series have already popped up elsewhere. I'm not going to quibble about that - instead, let's focus on the fresh talent in spicy sex characterised by Joey's gently eccentric style. Just the sort of perfect prime time, family viewing that we like to see. What relevance does this have? Well, I'd just like to thank Evil Angel for the menu graphics on this DVD that, perhaps unintentionally, so vividly recall that hilarious broadcast. As for the movie itself, I am not so sure.

With its resolutely low budget approach, La Soiree De Connes looks as crude as its title suggests, and at times makes those pirate VHS tapes of late eighties and early nineties Magma movies that I always ended up with look positively sophisticated. The plot is simple - three friends pick up women, and then everyone gets together for the party. First, Kevin Long meets modestly attractive brunette Illona outside a peepshow/sex shop establishment. She seems utterly disinterested, both in his patter and in her own performance, as they chat back at his pad. The unbelievably unoriginal device of spilling a drink over her is used, not once but twice, to get her to strip to lingerie and stockings.

Anal Clinic (originally released in 1993) sees Steve take a troupe of British actresses to join some foreign talent in Belgium, of all places, for a light-hearted take on the perennially popular medical theme. It's a bawdy tale all about a sex clinic that promises more orgasms than you've ever imagined. Now, I know Anal Clinic was shot at a time when heterosexual anal sex was, believe it or not, still illegal in the UK, but Belgium...? Now, you can judge the humour at play here from this, but Doctor Madeleine Du Pont A.N.A.L.

Review brief: Center of Sex Private Directed by Antonio Adamo Starring: Bridgette Kerkove, Felecia, Nikita Denise, Samantha Sterling, Sophie Evans, Syren, Toni Ribas, Mark Davis, Erik Everhard, Pat Myne, Joey Ray Running time: 1hr 38mins Antonio Adamo directs this slick but flimsy tale of Bruce and Diana, a couple (played by the real-life pairing of Toni Ribas and Sophie Evans) who come to Los Angeles to further the husband's fledgling career as a porn scriptwriter. After their arrival at a familiar beautiful house, they meet Nick (Mark Davis) a porn director who invites Toni (to ease my confusion, I'll stick to actors' rather than characters' names - Mark even calls "Bruce" Toni at one point during the movie!) to the set of his latest "big budget" movie. Turning down sex with his good lady wife, who clearly had her eye on Mark, Toni arrives on the set next day. No wonder he's surprised at that "big budget" tag; Mark's production looks like a cheap off-cut from Virtualia. On with the shoot, which provides the first sex scene.

Running time: 1hr 16mins Finally released on DVD, Anal Academy was a historic movie in its time - an early directorial outing for Steve "Ben Dover" Perry, the first feature from Private, and a movie that gained certain notoriety in the UK, where it was shot, among those of us who had to rely on bootleg VHS tapes for our illicit dose of hardcore. I ended up with an unwatchable nth generation copy, so it's interesting to see with digital clarity how Anal Academy has fared some 10 years on (there's some contradiction about dates - the date of shooting is stated as 1992, it's copyrighted 1993). In a quick opening scene, before the titles, pretty brunette Suzzanah encounters a rather ugly chap having a wank (over a Private mag, naturally) in a stable.

Set fair for a career in porn, with even those nasty Anabolic boys luring her into their grasp, the slender, sexy brunette with the irresistible pout made the move that always has fans of unadulterated pornography tearing their hair out - she signed for Vivid, and in the process changed her name to Cassidey. So while it might help her bank balance, it certainly didn't help her spelling. Whatever, the net result is a career in Vivid productions, a selection of which are represented in this rather slim compilation Before I go any further, apologies for inaccuracies in IDs in this review - due to a couple of reasons.
