Young Latinas with attitude seems to be the general theme of this AVN awarded series, as five feisty girls are featured in Chica Boom 12's collection of vignettes, all handled with a particular tongue-in-cheek humour.

Jessyca Stevens
The set up for the opener is that Jessyca is meeting with immigration officer Jay Ashley in order to apply for US citizenship, with a topical twist being that she has to spill the beans about terrorists. This sends her into a rant in an accent that could strip paint off the wall. She's meant to be Spanish, but she has a very good grasp of American English, or more accurately Anglo-Saxon. This is amusing for about two seconds, and it's a blessed relief when the bleach blonde dumpling decides to speed the process by taking Jay's dick in her mouth. She strips for him. "You look good," he leers. I tend to disagree there, Jay. She spreads 'em so Jay can stuff her shaven pussy, grunting boorishly as he does so. When she's on top she looks just a little too plump for my taste, and after a hard and fast doggy fuck he paints her tongue. The sex sparks up at points, but really, Jessyca does little for me.

Layne Young
In a gym scene, Layne falls for Pat Myne's nostalgic sob story about a Mexican maid of his childhood - truth be told he got the horn while letching over Layne, who I might impolitely suggest is an infrequent gym visitor in reality, getting sweaty in her work out. She works out nude so he can watch her sweat and bring back those memories. Each to their own, but in all honesty I don't find her looks, physique or attitude very appealing. But then again, when she comes over, reaches in his shorts and they touch each other before she goes down on him, it is pretty sexy. Close ups of Pat licking her twat are less appealing. There's a fairly slow build up to missionary sex, with leads to doggy and cowgirl positions. Pat eventually looses off a respectable load on her face, though why he calls her a fucking bitch when she was so accommodating is beyond me. A few revealing angles and close-ups can't disguise some very standard fare.

Alexia Riley
I could be mistaken, but since when was American Indian, as Alexia is described, considered Latin? Whatever, the set-up for this scene is wryly amusing. A smooth talking congressman, rumoured to have a relationship with a female intern who has mysteriously disappeared? Sound familiar? Dale Dabone plays the politician, Alexia being a reporter who agrees to go beyond the ethical in order to get the scoop. She looks much better than when I first saw her (in Red Light District's Just Over Eighteen #2), as she pops out her soft tits, spreads her twat and gets down to give Dale one wet blowjob. She looks rather pale as he fucks her in a chair, missionary then doggy. Spreading out her pale body on the desk, she reminds me a little (only a little!) of Alisha Klass. Alexia squats down so Dale can spray his seed on her face. I won't pretend this scene was much of a turn on - when the set-up is better than the sex, you know you're in trouble.

Precious Girl
Canned laughter during the short comedic intro is like a back handed compliment to the "acting" talents of El Salvadoran Precious Girl and her partner Latin Lover (who she calls Bobby). They're instructed to shred an energy company's sensitive documents, but she melodramatically vexes over the fact he's not paying her enough attention. So let's put that right. Precious really is very cute, all big brown eyes and bee-stung pouting lips. She strips, revealing attractive boobs, ignores his requests for her to "choke on that dick", giving a pretty fair BJ before he laps at her neat pussy. As he pummels her, I wonder if she's had a niño? Anyway, she moans away quite sweetly as the move through doggy, to spoons, with a tangle of legs that I like to call the position with no name in the middle there. He spurts over her stomach, wrapping up an okay scene. This pair plays together in Young As They Cum #5 too. Maybe they're a real life couple - if so, what's the point? If I want to see real life couple on the job, I can climb on my garage roof and look in my neighbours' window…

Delia
The final scene features Delia, a skinny but kind of cute pale Mexican girl with dyed red hair, losing her cool with an officious airline check-in clerk (Alex Sanders, hey, Tony Tedeschi, Alex Sanders, they're all still at it…). She's got a foul mouth, rants in English and Spanish - she rashly offers him the chance to kiss her panocha. Not a literal offer, but that's how it turns out. Once Alex has sent away the other passengers, Delia strips to reveal her teeny tiny boobs, tight pink pussy. She gives him a skilful blowjob and then he tongues her twat. As she rides reverse cowgirl, a passenger peeps in on them - I wonder who that was? Whatever, the sex is better in this scene, and though she's a touch too thin for my preference, Delia looks good wriggling in Alex's lap. Missionary, cowgirl and doggy positions fill up the rest of the scene, until Alex fires a modest facial in her direction.

Overall
This is the first Chica Boom title that I have seen, and I can't pretend it did an awful lot for me. It's obviously low budget, cardboard wobbly sets included, but it's competently put together, from shooting through to editing. However, the sex is very routine indeed, and this makes me wonder about niche marketing in porn - do the producers believe customers will accept sex action of a lower standard, just so long as their particular fetish is catered for? And with that in mind, it's not as strong on Latin looks as I might have expected, if that's what you're after. I am not, but at least it's all done with a fair sense of knowing humour.

That said, when director Andre Madness has all the girls acting bratty and swearing like troopers, I presume he's attempting to portray a certain character, but I just didn't find that very sexy, and worse, the fiery temperament is not translated to the sex - I'd like to see more passion, muchachas! Occasional but obvious nods to foot fetishism during the movie hint at another Kick Ass series, Barefoot Confidential, but while Chica Boom 12 is reasonably good fun, it doesn't inspire me to check out anything else from the studio.

DVD Comments
An eight-minute blooper reel is the pick of the extras, with some funny moments. It's amazing how certain girls can't keep they're mouths shut when they should concentrate on the job at hand, but they'll be damned if they can remember their lines! Trailers and a photo gallery are available too. The chapter menu takes a similar approach to products from parent company Hustler, with each scene broken down into sub-chapters for easy access. However, this starkly illustrates how formularised the sex is: each scene is divided into plot, tease, oral, in-n-out, and cum shot. The picture quality is okay, not stunning, with apparently too much compression at times, and some weak colour. I didn't notice any sound problems, and indeed the dialogue is recorded to a higher standard than usual.
