Review brief: Helena is an odd French hardcore film. While Helena is a hardcore film it almost seems like it was originally intended to be a softcore roughie and the tone of the film takes a drastic change halfway through the film. Fans of roughies may want to to give the film a watch but once the twist in the film is known replay value probably won't be that high. Impulse Pictures has done a really nice job on their DVD release of Helena so fans of the film will want to pick up this release.

Review brief: The Weight of Infidelity is an excellent adult drama feature film from Pure Taboo, Angela White, and Bree Mills. The Weight of Infidelity doesn't just serve as erotic entertainment, the movie also acts as a catalyst to stimulate conversation on body image and body shaming -- issues that those who are affected by tend to stay quiet about. The Weight of Infidelity looks beautiful, features excellent acting, some great sex scenes, and a good story. Hopefully Pure Taboo will create more porn with a purpose in the future and The Weight of Infidelity isn't a one-and-done. Review brief: Ultimately, How to Have Oral Sex With a Trans Woman ends up being far more than an instructional movie for oral sex with a trans woman. Due to how it was made, the movie also serves as an educational video on trans women themselves and how they are different than cis-women, which should be of interest to cis-men and cis-women, especially in today's climate in the United States. The movie has technical issues, however, what the movie does have wins out over the issues. Kennston Productions has done a nice job with their DVD release of How to Have Oral Sex With a Trans Woman with good audio and video quality.

Review brief: Love is an adult feature film from director and writer Gaspar Noé that will not be for everyone in other words, raincoaters need not apply. While Love features ample nudity and frequent graphic sexual encounters, the sex does take a backseat to the plot and only viewers who are looking for heavy plot, that requires thinking, and sex will find Love rewarding. If this describes you, Love is well worth checking out. Alamode Film and AL!VE AG have done an excellent job with their Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray release of Love with excellent image and sound quality.

Review brief: Boys in the Sand 2 and One, Two, Three... collects two of Wakefield Poole's four shot on video gay adult movies. Both movies have been previously released on DVD, Boys in the Sand 2 from the now-defunct Mercury Releasing and One, Two, Three... from Gorilla Factory Productions, and the transfers present here look similar to the previous releases. Owners of the previous releases may not want to upgrade, the Easter egg on this release is good and will please fans of Wakefield Poole, however, the extras from the previous releases were not ported over to this release. This reviewer doesn't think that the two movies on this release are as strong as Wakefield Poole's shot on film movies but fans of Wakefield Poole's work will want to add this release, along with its companion release The Hustlers and Split/Image, which together encompass all of Wakefield Poole's shot on video work. Gorilla Factory Productions has done a nice job with this release. The two movies look as good as they can.

Review brief: Golden Age Media's release of the Desiree Cousteau Triple Feature contains the films Getting Off, Pretty Peaches, and Summer in Heat. Getting Off is a rather standard loop carrier by Ed DePriest, and Pretty Peaches is an enjoyable feature by Alex de Renzy, and Summer in Heat is an enjoyable film from Christy McCabe. Whether the Desiree Cousteau Triple Feature is right for you depends on what film(s) you are interested in from the three film collection. All three films appear to be sourced from 3/4 video masters. Getting Off has decent video quality but problematic audio quality, Pretty Peaches has poor video and audio quality, and Summer in Heat has decent video and audio quality.

Review brief: Hopefully, at some point, Vinegar Syndrome will release a DVD of their Leo Productions short adult films from the First International Erotic Film Festival since they seem to have several. It seems unlikely that they would ever be able to put back together the festival itself since Leo Productions was not able to secure distribution rights for any of the entries they didn't produce. However, even a release of all of the Leo Productions shorts would be nice, even though the short films are flawed, since the different directors were all trying to actually do something with their short films. Roses for Zingara is a flawed but interesting short film from director Preston Holmes that is a tale of unrequited love. Vinegar Syndrome has done a nice job with their streaming-only edition of Roses for Zingara on Exploitation.TV with good audio and video quality.

Review brief: A Taboo Identity is a great documentary for fans of the adult movie industry, especially fans of the golden age of adult films. Not only does A Taboo Identity chronicle what Kay Taylor Parker has done since she retired from acting in adult films, the movie also tackles the stigma of life after adult movie acting and the difference between how adult actors and actresses are perceived by the public versus how the actors and actresses view themselves. Soundview Media Partners and MVD Visual have done a nice job with their DVD release of A Taboo Identity with nice audio and video quality.

Review brief: Getting Off is a rather standard feature-style loop carrier from the 1970s. There is essentially no plot although some work has gone into creating the connective material for the film. The loops don't entirely fit within the narrative and the fact that they were originally shot as unconnected loops is rather obvious. The sex scenes aren't bad but this reviewer would recommend a rental of this title over a purchase. Golden Age Media has done a decent job with their DVD release of Getting Off with decent video, sourced from a 3/4 video master, and problematic audio.

Review brief: Pixie's Emporium has combined two films that were made in the same place on one disc which creates a much better value for the consumer as each of the films are under an hour in run time. The first film features the stunning Madonna Mason but is a let down due to Damien Fields inability to perform for the first half of the film. On it's own, it would have been hard to fully recommend due to this. The second film features Annett and Brie and two unknown men and there are no performance problems in this film. Coupled together I recommend this disc for viewers that like amateur films as there is a lot to enjoy here. Just don't expect anything that resembles a standard studio production.

Review brief: White Slaver is a rather poor and obviously thrown together feature-style roughie from the early 1970s that seems to want to impress the viewer with the fact they had a boat than with well-done sex scenes or any sort of attempted plot. Vinegar Syndrome has done a decent with White Slaver with their streaming-only edition available on Exploitation.TV with decent video and acceptable audio quality.
