Talk Dirty To Me 5 review summaries:
fu_q's
Despite a bad case of amnesia, pussy and sex still manage to gravitate toward John Leslie (reprising his role as the smooth-talking, hard-fucking "Jack"), even if it's in a hospital environment and it involves his nurse. Of course, along the way, his antics, demeanor, and the erotically-charged atmosphere that they invoke also wind up unwittingly saving everyone else from their own sexual problems and hang-ups, as well. Such is the case in "Talk Dirty to Me 5", an overall-good, 1987 release from Dreamland and director Henri Pachard. [read the full review]

Mixing science and sexuality to help its clients fulfill their most intimate and deepest of desires, "Sex World" is a resort that ushers in groups of hand-picked tourists who are looking for a bit more out of their getaway than the standard vacation has to offer. Indeed, they're seeking sexual liberation and fulfillment--in one form or another--and "Sex World" is just the place to give it to them. Such is the case in Anthony Spinelli's 1977 release of the same title, a landmark film in the history of adult fare. [read the full review]

Corey Thomas'
Anthony Spinelli's "Sex World" is a movie that I have been wanting to see for a very long time. I finally obtained a copy of this 1978 classic and the wait was well worth it. As an adult movie with a real plot and actors who could actually act, this film is effective on several levels: As erotica, a character study, and a psychological drama. There are many characters to keep track of here and the movie is practically a who's who of porn in 1978. The story revolves around a group of people taking a chartered bus to a resort known as "Sex World". The characters include Annette Haven as a lesbian left by her lover (Cris Cassidy), who comes to the resort looking for a heterosexual encounter; an adult movie enthusiast (Sharon Thorpe) who can't express her desires in real life; a racist (John Leslie) who is slowly seduced by black beauty Desiree West, and several couples having various sexual problems. The sex scenes themselves are pretty short, since they are so numerous in number, but they are all beautifully shot and uniquely erotic. [read the full review]

V the Hot One (Cal Vista Classics) review summaries:
fu_q's
Talk of a local whorehouse at a dinner party rekindles old memories and repressed desires buried surface-deep within Annette Haven, a seemingly proper housewife with an extremely sexual past, prompting her to explore and act out her innermost fantasies in real life. Almost uncontrollably, she goes about doing so, giving in to each and every erotic whim along the way...often driven simply by shear impulse. She blows her hubby's friend (Paul Thomas) early on in her progression, has sex with perverts in an X-rated theatre, prostitutes herself out to a sailor on the street, and eventually ends up working at the bordello itself...all unbeknownst to her husband at home, John Leslie. With the expression of her sexual proclivities magnifying and escalating at every turn, and nothing but a slight bit of subconscious remorse to put the brakes on, Annette finds herself quickly spinning into the depths of sexual deviation...and enjoying every minute of it. Such is the case in "V the Hot One". [read the full review]

Length 78:20 Year 1981 The VCX dvd of HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES is in fullscreen as are most of their dvd's and the picture quality is not too bad on this dvd. It's certainly a step up from their dvd of THE DEVIL IN MISS JONES. The audio is fine and everyone can be understood easily throughout the movie. This movie really deserved some extras and it includes none at all, not even the ones promised on the front cover. VCX should really get with the game and try to get some commentary tracks for their classic dvd releases as the other companies such as VCA and NuTech are doing. The story to this movie is that coach Salinas (Jamie Gillis) is coming back for a reunion with the some teachers he worked with, and a student he had on his football team 5 years earlier. He has changed a lot in the last 5 years, but first we get to see how he was 5 years earlier and it is quite an entertaining view of the trip on the bus of him and his football team to a football game. Cast: Veronica Hart, Juliet Anderson, Marlene Willoughby, Merle Michaels, Jody Maxwell, Samantha Fox, John Leslie, Richard Bolla, Bobby Astyr, Ron Hudd and Joey Silvera and in sex roles; Jolet Kodet, Candida Royalle, Erica Eaton, Elyse Alexander, Cami Graham, Josh Andrews, Al Greenbach, Henri Pachard and several others in nonsex roles. Director and writer: Henri Pachard Production date: ©1981 Length: 83 min. Extras: A slide show with 20 stills and a catalog list of classic VCA titles. Audio/visual quality: The quality of print is excellent, with a minimum of speckles and other defects. The lighting tends to be a bit low, but in a way that's flattering to the performers. The mix of camera angles is good. Shadows partially obscure some of the action, though not to the point that it bothers me. The penetration footage is briefer and generally less explicit than is common nowadays; it holds up well, however, when compared to other movies of the day. Two of the five scenes contain sex sounds only. [read the full review]

Vista Valley P.T.A. (NuTech) review summaries:
jayo's
Vaguely based on the popular song of the time, "Harper Valley PTA," this old-school movie-with-a-plot is about a new teacher (Jessie St. James) and the students and parents of Vista Valley High School. Forget the plot, because like most porn movies it's just a method of setting scenes and it's pretty worthless. The real attraction of this movie is its stars, which reads like a who's who of porn circa 1980. Jessie St. James, Dorothy LeMay (credited on screen as Lexmax), Juliett Anderson, Kay Parker (on screen as Kay Taylor) Jamie Gillis and John Leslie are all in their prime. By modern standards the scenes are often missing something--the camera doesn't get every little thing the way it does now, and a lot of scenes seem shorter than one might expect. Almost everyone gets only one sex-scene in the movie, including Kay and Juliett, who would become two of porn's biggest stars, and Jessie St. James, the star of the movie. The DVD itself is no-frills. It divides the movie into six chapters, so expect a lot of fast-forwarding if you want to see something in particular. [read the full review]

Old timers will recognize the reference to "Harper Valley P.T.A.," a story song written by Tom T. Hall and recorded by Jeannie C. Riley in 1968. The song went to number one on both the pop and country charts, and later became the concept of a 1978 movie starring Barbara Eden, as well as a short-lived TV series also starring Eden. This film was shot around 1979 or 1980, and it is hot!! Jessie St. James is the star, but there is a lot of good female talent including Dorothy LeMay, Kay parker, and Sharon Kane. This film is surprisingly mean spirited, and some people will be disturbed by depictions of incest (compare the Kane-Gillis coupling in this film with the duo's scene in Michael Ninn's New Wave Hookers, almost 20 years later). The film is plot driven and the sex scenes are typically much shorter than today, but they are very effective. The film was shot on film, and the DVD transfer is very good. The extras are the usual from Nu-Tech, nothing spectacular. [read the full review]

Starring: Jessie St. James, Dorothy LeMay, Sharon Kane, Kay Parker, Juliet Anderson, Brooke West, Jamie Gillis, John Leslie, John Seaman Directed By: Anthony Spinelli Inspired, of course, by Harper Valley PTA, Vista Valley PTA puts Jessie St. James in the Barbara Eden role of a new teacher at a troubled small town high school. The original movie was a comedy based on a popular song. This time, we know from where the inspiration comes, but it's not so easy to label this as comedy, melodrama, or anything else. I suppose the term "porn" will have to suffice. Shot in the early 80's, Vista Valley PTA is considered a classic if only for it's age, but God bless NuTech Digital for releasing it despite it's dated look. [read the full review]

Starring: Lisa DeLeeuw, Dorothy LeMay, Georgina Spelvin, Susan Nero, Chris Cassidy, Brooke West, John Leslie, Dewey Alexander, Hershel Savage Directed By: Robert McCallum The term "classic porn" is usually an oxymoron. After all, even the very best adult movies were cranked out over a week's shooting and shared little in common with their mainstream counterparts. Deep Throat, for all it's grandeur in the porn world is still a B-movie production. Yet, these "classics" are pretty damned entertaining, and nobody ever got off watching Citizen Kane. Garage Girls is one such classic "good time" kind of movie. It's silly, it's dated, and its jokes fall about as flat as a souffle in a thunderstorm. But, it's also sexy, fun to watch, and worth the discounted price most on-line retailers are charging for it. Garage Girls plays like one of those late night cable movies about a bunch of frat guys and their misadventures at spring break. You know the kind; you might find Danny Bonaduce making a cameo. This is no spring break movie, though. [read the full review]

Goin' Down Slow review summaries:
fu_q's
Absolutely smoking is probably the best way to describe John Leslie''s "Goin'' Down Slow", an exceptional 1988 release from the actor/director and VCA. Sure, it has a plot--a pretty good one, in fact, involving a nosey, peeping neighbor (Ona Zee), a letter to an adult magazine columnist (Robert Bullock), cheating all around, and even murder and betrayal--but the storyline just can''t help but seem secondary to the blazing hot sex that abounds. Indeed, rife with tension, intensely erotic setups, and stunning beauties, the action in this one truly hits the mark in just about every spot. [read the full review]

Indeed, rife with tension, intensely erotic setups, and stunning beauties, the action in this one truly hits the mark in just about every spot. [read the full review]

"Goin' Down Slow", John Leslie's second directorial effort after "Nightshift Nurses" is a very different kind of adult film. It has a huge emphasis on storyline and style, rather than sex, which at times makes some of the sexual scenarios seem pointless or uninteresting. The plot itself is amazing: Ironic, full of twists and turns, and unpredictable. It is the porn equivalent of a Hitchcock movie. Ona Z plays a lonely woman who likes to watch her neighbor Ellen's (Shanna McCullough) daily trysts with lover George Anton (John Leslie). Ona's in love with George and thinks that he should be hers. Ellen is married to Martin (Robert Bullock), an advice columnist who goes under the name "Madame Rona". George is Martin's boss. Kathleen Gentry plays Martin's secretary and Joey Silvera plays a photography. Later, when a murder is committed, all of these characters come into play. What happens, I will not say, but I will say that John Leslie makes no easy assumptions. There are a fair amount of sex scenes, but none of them are very long or memorable. [read the full review]

This 1984 release from Cal Vista is a couple of years too recent to be considered "Golden Age," but is definitely a classic. Produced by Sam Norvell and directed by Robert McCallum, it features 70s porn superstar Annette Haven, along with John Leslie, Harry Reems, R. Bolla, and Hershel Savage. It also features "Angel" who was breifly the rage during the mid-1980s. She does a scene with Leslie and another with R. Bolla. My favorite performer is the under-celebrated Janey Robbins. She had a great body and was a very enthusiastic sex performer. Robbins also has a cute Minnesota accent (like the female sheriff in "Fargo"). Here, she does two scenes, one with R. Bolla and one with Hershel Savage (a purported incest scene). Strangely, it appears that this movie was intended to have a sequel, but I've never seen it, and I don't think it was ever made. Nu-tech has done an acceptable job on the DVD transfer; it looks much better than the tape I had. Nu-tech also features Dolby surround sound, but I couldn't detect any improvement in the sound. classic connoisseur's
Year: 1985 Length: 86 minutes Even though this is part of the NuTech line of Classic dvd collecion series this is certainly no classic. You might think it is by looking at the cast involved (Harry Reems, Jamie Gillis, John Leslie, Amber Lynn) and directed by Robert McCallum, but unfortunately the sex and the storyline to this movie are severely lacking. The plot to this story is supposed to be something similar to that of a soap opera, but I didn't find it to be any more similar to a soap opera than any other porn film I've seen. Basically the problem is that there was no plot at all and this is a problem in a porn film that pretends to have a plot. This movie pretended to have a story line and it had just enough to get in the way but not enough to make any sense, so this is one problem. Either they should have just went wall to wall sex with this one or have developed the story line more fully and made a full feature sex film out of this movie. [read the full review]

All bets are off when a struggling actor who also happens to be a smooth-talking ladies' man, Jamie Gillis, signs on to be a part of a plot hatched by a wealthy, Hollywood mogul to cheat his relatives (a sister and four nieces) out of their inheritance from his dying (...and wealthier...) anti-sex crusader of a brother. Of course, this is a porno, so Jamie and his pals (John Leslie and Paul Thomas) are tasked with bedding all of the women in the family (with proof) to demonstrate their profound lack of morality and to get them kicked out of the will. The only thing that might get in the way of such an "easy", foolproof plan? Love. Such is the case in "The Ecstasy Girls", an exceptional, 1979 release from Caballero and director Robert McCallum. Here is a splendid little classic from 1979, produced by Harold Lime and directed by Robert McCallum. As is usual with "Golden Age" classics, the plot, acting, exterior shots and general production values are outstanding. This flick was shot on location in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. They dont make them like this anymore. Jamie Gillis plays a washed up B-movie star who is down on his luck. He has been reduced to escorting starlets to movie premieres, a service for which his agent pays him a few bucks plus expenses. He still makes the rounds of Hollywood parties, however, and at one such event, his host, J.C. Church, observes him seducing Desiree Cousteau. It is a hypnotic scene; Cousteau was a beautiful girl with wonderful, natural breasts. Georgina Spelvin secretly observes them, while being secretly observed herself by J.C. Church telephones Gillis that night with an interesting proposition. J.C. is the brother of Edgar Church, a rich industrialist from whom J.C. stands to inherit money. [read the full review]

"Nightshift Nurses", the directorial debut of perhaps the best actor to ever work in adult, John Leslie, not only is a scorcher when it comes to the sex, but also makes great use of comedy, blues music, and filmmaking styles that Leslie would later use in the "Chameleon" and "Catwoman" movies. The film takes place during one night in a hospital. Lois Ayres plays the senior nurse who heads the other nurses, played by Bionca, Keisha, Sheena Horne, and Lynn Francis. John Leslie plays Dr. Grow, an insomniac who hates his job and would really like to be a professional harmonica player. Joey Silvera is an everyman who goes by the name of Idaho Moe and in his spare time pretends that he's a doctor. Peter North, Josey Duval, and D.J. Cone play various patients and Siobhan Hunter is a "sister" who is waiting for her brother to come out of surgery. One more character worth mentioning would be the black janitor, played by Steve Hennessy. While mopping a hallway, he overhears moans and goes into the room to investigate. [read the full review]

Nothing To Hide (NuTech) review summaries:
SDC's
Although not the best movie of the era, Nothing To Hide may well be the quintessential Golden Age Classic. If youve ever wanted to know what separates the Golden Age movies from contemporary classics then look no further. The movie revolves around the relationship between Jack (John Leslie) and his slow witted/ retarded buddy, Lenny (Richard Pacheco). Jack is a smooth talking ladies man who effortlessly moves from one conquest to the next. Lenny, on the other hand, has no luck with the ladies - despite Jacks constant promises to set him up. However, when Lenny falls for a similarly awkward girl Jack has to face the prospect of life without his buddy. If your exposure to porn is limited to contemporary product either feature or gonzo this is going to be quite a change of pace. Even the narrative driven couples porn of today is a fair distance from movies such as this. For a start the sex scenes are far shorter than would be acceptable today (which, from a story telling perspective at least, is no bad thing). [read the full review]

The Top 25 Adult Stars of All Time Directed by Various Running time (approx): 240mins I think there is a very good reason why many hold the classic era of porn (70s, 80s) in such high regard. For me when I first saw films like this, they were normally passed to me on very low quality VHS, sometimes with no sound, or a picture so bad it was almost unwatchable. Porn back then was the holy grail. It was next to impossible to widely obtain (at least here in the UK) and just seeing real sex was amazing. Now it is different. Hardcore for one, is legal in the UK. Porn is now on DVD and the picture quality is never an issue (at least by no means the issue it was) and also, such beautiful women are ready and willing to shed their inhibitions for your viewing enjoyment. It is a different world now, and for me I have come to the realisation that yes, porn in the past was special because it was so forbidden and unobtainable but porn now is in a different league. Of course, there could be no official list; sex is much too subjective. [read the full review]

Catwoman, The (VCA) review summaries:
Corey Thomas'
John Leslie's "The Catwoman", which marks one of his last, if not the last, of his sex roles is a moody, charged, and very erotic masterpiece that helped establish his directorial style. Kathleen Gentry stars as Jennifer, a photographer who is having problems with her boyfriend Stefan (played by Joey Silvera). While she is walking home from work, she has the feeling that she is being followed. She literally bumps into a stranger (Leslie), who invites her for a drink. As they talk, hints of sexuality echo out of their conversation. He offers to call her a cab, but instead she offers to walk him home. When they get inside Leslie's home, they get it on as soon as you can say "Bingo". This sex scene is especially charged and ranks as one of the all-time best, in my opinion. He rips off her clothes and passionately starts licking her body as she gives him an equally ferocious blowjob. They then start to fuck, with the two of them getting so much into it, that you can see Gentry's scratchmarks on his back. [read the full review]

Insatiable (I-Candy) review summaries:

I actually purchased "Insatiable" more for the content of the extras (the commentary tracks, although unfortunately it turned out the one with Marilyn Chambers is not featured on this DVD release) than the feature itself although it was certainly an acceptable film with plot, acting, technically well done (like most films of the Golden Age), although I was a bit disappointed with the sole commentary tracks by Gloria Leonard (who does not appear in the film). Plot Synopsis: Sandra Chase (Marilyn Chambers) is a famous actress and model who lives a glamorous lifestyle thanks to her stardom and the fortune she inherited from her parents when they were killed in an accident. She has it all: fame, money, and a leading role in a new movie. [read the full review]

Wow. Insatiable is the first classic porno Ive seen and it truly is classic. After watching this movie beginning to end (a porno rarity) I felt compelled to tell all of you how phenomenal it is. The increasing intensity portrayed so well by Marilyn Chambers mirrors the increasing intensity of a fist gripping, teeth clenching, heart pounding roll in the hay. The plot and the sex intermingle like a sensual story rather than a series of action sequences. Insatiable is more than a porno -its a finely constructed, very erotic movie (not to mention the groovin soundtrack.)The initial sex scenes arent even really sex scenes -lots pleasing and teasing, no cum shots. Marilyn does a lot of masturbating while fantasizing which grows increasingly passionate as the film progresses (culminating in an unbelievable scene with John Holmes -seeing him in action gives porn a whole new meaning.)The DVD quality is excellent. You can tell it is an old film by speckles here and there. But the image and the sound are both crisp. The audio commentary is interesting as are the bio and stills of Marilyn. [read the full review]
