Review:
A reunion brings back unsettled (and raunchy) memories and offers up an opportunity to patch up the past in High School Memories, a very good, 1980 release from director Anthony Spinelli. Featuring Jamie Gillis as a crass, ex-football coach and Annette Haven as a former cheerleading squad mentor who were not only fired simultaneously but who also share a tumultuous history, it's no doubt that the emotions run high in this release. Of course, it doesn't help that both of them engaged in sexual activities with students, either, Annette having a moment with a football star, Steve Parks, and Jamie with the team trollop, Dorothy LeMay, for instance. Compounding things is that a former player of Jamie's, the super-cool John Leslie, is the new coach and also attending the reunion, as is the lovely Diana Holt, a newer addition to the staff. What results is an erotically-charged foray that spans both the past and the present and includes plenty of steamy sex between all of the participants along the way. All of this, to be sure, is nicely wrapped up in an entertaining storyline reminiscent of the features of its era, making it inherently watchable.
In terms of highlights, Dorothy LeMay's work is always scorching, and this holds true in this film, as well. She takes on John Leslie in the back of a packed school bus, then at the team's hotel...and she later gives it up to Gillis. In every sequence, she's a sexual firecracker and steals the show, and when Jamie unloads in her dropped panties out of doggy it's quite the sight to behold. Not to be outdone, the stunning (and classy) Annette Haven turns out strong performances in her pairings (with Parks and Gillis), and Diana Holt is a knockout in her own right with Gillis and, later, Leslie. The remainder of the couplings follow suit, and the result is raunchy, varied, erotic, and plays well with the plot. This one is definitely worth a look for fans of the Golden Age or any of the players involved...and who isn't?
