The Best of Joey Stefano is another compilation film running at 120 minutes and the scenes run from hot to mediocre. I wish production companies would list the credits before each scene as some of these were from the early 90s and it was hard to track down who was who in some of them. Fans of Joey will eat this one up! I am one of them. Joey brought new meaning to the word "bottom" and its unfortunate that he passed away in 1994. I've been very hesitant to overpraise anything I watch. For those of you who have read my other reviews, you know I can be extremely harsh. But I think it's important to ask myself, "Is this the best it can get?" Well, I asked that while watching this, and I have to honestly say, if it's not, this is pretty close. Features: This disc is pretty light on features, but the ones that are here are very well done. There are a generous 14 chapter stops, and the slide show has great photography. By far, the best feature, though, are the production notes. We get to read what is essentially a "virtual notebook" of the six day shoot. Though it's never mentioned who wrote it, I'm presuming it's co- director Robert Kirsch (Bruce Cam is the other one). There are photos to accompany the text, many of which are not in the slide show, and the writing here is pretty good. There are some very funny anecdotes about the difficulties of shooting without intrusions, some shocked train engineers, and trying to avoid prosecution. [read the full review]

It has been re-released as the Directors Expanded Edit which from what I could tell there is about 35-40 minutes of scenes that have been extended. For those of you who dont own this be sure to pick it up! For those of you who already own it, I really dont think its worth buying another copy, even for the commentary which is really the only extra to be worthwhile. This won an award from the Adam Gay Video Directory when it was released too! You can read my previous review for all the juicy details but here Id just like to add some new comments. This dvd is still first rate with great camera work, hot men and plenty of action and I cant believe 7 years have gone by since its release! Time flies when youre jerking off! Ha ha.
