Fallen Angel 1 (Titan Media) Review

I feel it’s important to preface this review with the fact that I’m not really a big fan of leather. Some aspects intrigue me, but overall, it’s not my thing. I had heard a lot about this series, though, and the quality of other Titan titles prompted me to check it out. Some of it was simply too much for me, but I will review the overall quality of this disc and will hopefully give enough information to assist in determining whether this is something you may be interested in watching.

The features: Static menu; trailers for this title’s two sequels; chapters (16) and contact info. That’s it. Given the nice extras to be found on other Titan discs, this is very disappointing. The video for the most part is good, but somewhat grainy, and doesn’t match the quality of more current releases (this was produced in 1997). Sound was merely adequate. I’ve heard better music, but I’ve also heard worse. Scene dialogue and sound appears to be live, for the most part, but sometimes drops out to very low levels to the point of being inaudible, especially in scene five. The editing is sometimes problematic, with actors suddenly changing positions with no transition whatsoever.

The stars: Tony Zerega, Cole Tucker, Mark Hamilton, Daddy Kane, Eric Michaels, Tommy Strausser, Harold Creg, Tex Matson, Keith Reed, Gary English, Tarus, Will Burks, Chase Alters, Luc Torino, Roberto, Jim Buck, Steve Cannon, Kyle Brandon. The actors were not matched with their names during the credits, so I unfortunately don’t know all of them by name.

The movie: While there is some sort of story here, I wasn’t exactly sure what it was. There’s nearly no dialogue, and it’s mostly a series of sex scenes strung together by the appearance of a “fallen angel,” in the form of Steve Cannon with cheesy looking black wings strapped to his back like a book bag. Frequently, he’s seen at the beginning of a scene watching the action, which then continues without him. Is he a guardian for illicit sex? Does he approve? Does he cause it? Does he just like to watch? I have no idea. The setting is in Chicago, and we see a few nice landmarks between scenes.

Scene One: Angel Steve is watching Mark and Cole make out on some stairs. Cole invites Mark to his place, which is where we see Kyle strapped to a chair, hands over his head, nipple clamps on his chest. Kyle has quite a gift for overacting. He tries to act surly one minute, demanding to be untied and disgusted by what he’s being subjected to, then he switches moods and actively participates in it. I realize leather is a fantasy, but I personally feel that if you’re that into something, you should commit to it all the way. Anyway, the guys all suck one another a bit and untie Kyle. Kyle sucks Mark briefly, then goes to work on his hole, frequently spitting on it, which I find pretty disgusting, but so be it. These guys groan like animals, making some of the weirdest noises I’ve heard during sex, but they seem to be into it. Mark rims Kyle while Cole hovers around them, offering an extra hand or what have you where he can. Cole then invites Kyle into his hole, and suddenly (in one of those bad edits) we see that Cole is pounding into Kyle’s ass. In another choppy edit, we see Kyle shoving a fairly huge black dildo up Cole’s ass. He does an admirable job taking it all the way. His groans are difficult to distinguish from being pleasure, pain, or inhuman, but that’s the point here, I suppose. The dildo gets tossed aside, Kyle and Cole jack to rather anti-climatic orgasms, and we go to the next scene.

Scene Two: Steve’s hanging out in the el. He watches an anonymous man in a leather coat board a train. We don't see who it is, so it's not made clear what his role is at this point. We cut to a heavily tattooed bald man with a moustache working over a jockstrap-wearing slave in a dark room. We occasionally see a couple of men watching, but they’re not the focal point here. He scratches his body with sharp claws on his fingertips, beats him with a rubber bat, rubs his body while wearing soft gloves, spanks him with a leather paddle, swats him with a reed, uses the paddle once again, and then works him over with a cat o’ nine tails. He rubs him down, we see the men watching jacking off, and he then proceeds to put 10 piercing needles through the slave’s upper chest while the slave is blindfolded, then tapping on them with the reed. He then whips him some more as we see the men watching jerk each other in the foreground. There’s not really any sex here, and the slave’s cries seemed genuine as this got more intense. This was all way too much for me and I did not find it erotic, but rather disturbing. Much like the spitting, I understand some people are very into this, which is fine, but it just turned me off.

Scene Three: Steve wanders the city, and we next see a couple of guys in an elevator, one on his knees sucking the other one. Four men (two leather, two normal, one even with a dog!) get on and off, watching, but not joining. The sucker becomes suckee and we see he’s sporting not only a pierced septum, but a pierced cock, too. He spills a load and then finishes off the other guy, who demands that his balls be squeezed while he decorates his friend’s cheek and chest with his cum. He licks it off and we move to Steve standing on a building. While a demonic voice says something inaudible (What is this? "Stigmata?") and he jumps down to a lower ledge.

Scene Four: Leather coat man (Tony Zerega) walks through an alley and the scene cuts to an orgy. Pretty much the entire cast is here, and then some. There are some gross old guys wearing towels watching all of this, but thankfully not joining in. Pretty much all the standard orgy stuff happens here. Lots of oral and rimming, some fucking, spitting on asses...then it gets nasty. Really nasty. We are treated to some pretty skanky guys going the golden shower route. At least four of them pee on one another. Again, this was just way too much for me, and I have no desire to see this scene again. Up until the peeing, it wasn’t bad.

Scene Five: Tony finds Steve and whips his wings off. They then abduct a man (Jim Buck) walking down an alley and drag him down a stairwell. Watching them try to drag Jim (who’s wearing a hood) down the stairs is actually sort of funny, as they have to appear to be struggling without actually falling down. They tie up Jim, who initially struggles but submits, much like Kyle in the first scene. Tony yanks on Jim’s prince albert a bit while Jim swallows Steve’s equally pierced cock. Tony and Steve switch ends and then Jim and Steve both work on Tony, one in front, one in back. Jim pounds Steve from behind while Steve works on Tony’s hard-on. Tony straps Steve to a bondage wheel, gets fucked by Jim and blows a pretty significant wad. He then puts Jim into a leather mummifier and gaga him. He sets his sights on Steve, first shoving his fingers into his mouth and jacking him to a messy conclusion. He returns to finish off Jim. He finishes him off in a similar, extremely explosive climax. Hope all that cum didn’t ruin the leather! The only really distasteful thing here is Tony spitting into Jim’s mouth. As if that alone weren’t bad enough, the sound is out of sync, so we see it, then hear it. I did like that two of the three orgasms came about with the guys having no control of them. We see Steve walking through a plaza, where he reacquires his wings (How? I don’t know, he just bends down and they re- appear) and disappears to end the feature.

As I said in the beginning, I’m not really a big leather fan, so any comments I made should be taken with a grain of salt. The quality of this feature is good, but not outstanding. As it is, there are no real features to speak of, so-so quality video and sound. This has won some awards according to the package, but it doesn’t say who gave them out. I assume GayVN, but don’t know. If you like leather, this may be your thing. Me, I’ll stick with my vanilla, with maybe just a little bit of chocolate on it.
