Freshmen Recruits Review

Finally! A halfway decent inexpensive title! I picked this one up cheap, expecting it to be a compilation disc with a military theme (the site I ordered from had no information about it, aside from a low price). Since I can't resist said theme, I had slightly higher expectations than for a comparable compilation disc. As it turns out, this is not a compilation disc, but a feature written and directed by Paul Barresi. While the story is almost non-existent, there is an attempt at it, and we at least get some build- up to the sex acts.

The menu: A static menu, but there are a few features, which include: trailers for a compilation VIDEO cassette (ugh!), phone sex and web site. The images presented here are universally awful, which made me dread playing the actual movie. There is also a small slide show, which is manual, so you can take your time looking at pics you like and skip ones you don't. Lastly, there is a biography section. It's pretty much a joke, as it only profiles three of the stars and seems to have a few words missing here and there, but again, more than I expected.

The stars: Paul Morgan, J.T. Sloan, Paul Carrigan (the three featured in the biographies), Will Clark, Jeff Mitchell, Dino Dimarco, and Emilio Sands. Almost all of whom range in looks from shagadelic to at least do-able. Unfortunately, the credits don't match the actors to their names, so I'm not certain who's who except the Pauls, J.T. and Emilio.

The movie: Video quality is not bad, but it's not exceptional either. Miles above the previews, but not really beyond VHS quality. It does falter in the final scene, dropping into black and white for a few seconds, but it's not the worst thing I've seen, by any means. The only music in this feature is during the credits, so the sound is all live with nothing to detract from it. Unfortunately, some of the scenes (particularly numbers 2 and 4) might as well be silent, as there is almost a complete absence of moaning and the most noise you hear is from the furniture banging around and balls slapping asses. The acting's not as awful as some, but you're not going to mistake this for "A Few Good Men."

Prior to the credits, Carrigan and J.T. are throwing around a football and each other when they decide it would be a good idea to join the Marines. Credits roll, and the first scene starts.

Scene One: A sergeant (an older actor, probably in his 30's) is talking to three recruits (J.T., Carrigan, and Emilio) about loyalty in the Marines and gives them their assignments. He dismisses them, but asks J.T. to stay behind. They discuss the path J.T. wants to take and sarge offers to pull strings to help him, in exchange for J.T. pulling on his pud. Before you can hum a few bars of the "Gomer Pyle" theme, our studs have stripped and J.T. is polishing the sergeant's sword with his tongue. They go back and forth a time or two, and J.T. gives the sarge's ass a tongue bath. After neatly clearing off the desk (guess breaking props isn't in the budget), there is a nice 69, which I think goes on longer than it needs to. J.T. slips inside the sarge from behind. Sarge lays down on his back and J.T. jacks him to orgasm while fucking him. J.T. then decorates the soldier with honors and we fade to the next scene.

Scene Two: Recruit Carrigan has reported to the resident doc (another older actor in his 30's). Seems his previous hernia check wasn't thorough enough. The doc takes his time examining the patient and admires his equipment. After some jock strap modeling, the doc sees fits to offer Paul the chance to administer a throat culture. Where are these doctors? This is such a hot fantasy of mine, I truly enjoyed this scene, despite its sparse audio. After a good while, the doc whips out his human tongue depresser and uses it on Paul. This scene is a reversal of what I expected. In the first scene, the young recruit tops. In this case, Paul is the bottom. Considering that his physique is quite a bit larger than the doc's, it was unusual, but the doc did have the bigger dick and I guess that wins out overall. They fuck on the examining table before the doc blows his wad, and Paul blows a fairly messy one, most of which winds up in his armpit. Fade to next scene.

Scene Three: A drill sergeant (Paul Morgan) is putting recruits Carrigan and J.T. through their paces. He screams at them in a rather funny diatribe. The scene then cuts to the barracks, where Emilio is sleeping. Paul brings in a new recruit (an average-looking goateed redhead) to be his bunk mate. Paul screams some more before storming out. The recruits make small talk for all of about 10 seconds before Emilio is on his knees, sucking for all he's worth. Paul returns and watches the events unfold from the doorway, dick in hand. Emilio continues to blow and rim him until he comes, and then jerks himself off, at which point Paul (who has entered the room) polishes himself off. He drags Emilio out of the room and into scene four.

Scene Four: Emilio and Paul make out on Paul's bed for awhile, as Paul is interested in "some tender lovin'." Emilio drops some throat and then crawls over to ride Paul's face in a 69. Paul then focuses his attention on Emilio before impaling him on his stalk. They kiss quite a lot in this scene, which does seem to lend some chemistry to the proceedings. The dearth of audible moaning does detract from it, though. It's not necessary to moan with each thrust (as that is completely fake), but a little bit more would lend some real heat to it. At one point, Paul sings a couple of lines from the Marine Corps Anthem, which was just ridiculous. They both then spray Emilio's chest and kiss some more to conclude the movie.

Overall, much better than I expected from this disc, and if you find it for cheap, give it a shot. There is some hot sex to be found and no hideous blobs in sight, either. If you are into military themes, or doctor fantasies, this could be right up your alley. I thought the first two scenes were interesting in that they used actors who conceivably could be in the roles they played (officer and doctor), rather than slapping a costume on an 18 year old. It wasn't quite a "daddy" situation, but it did add some realism to the production (if you ignore the very ugly tattoo on the doctor's calf). A worthwhile feature.
