Private Man 5: Gay Culture

Review brief: I have been a devoted champion of Private Mans foray into gay porn, so I am greatly saddened to see that their fifth film in this line has deteriorated both in the production values and in the direction. Everything was here to make a fine film. But they screwed it up. The lighting is often garish, the camera often out of focus, and the director has employed a disastrous technique of switching in and out of to black & white during the sex scenes. Whether or not this is some perverse Brechtian nonsense of audience alienation or an attempt to cut costs by using up a stock of old black and white film, the result keeps us from getting involved in the action. As the film opens we see a young man seated behind a desk getting a blowjob from someone. All we see is long hair. Is this a female secretary taking dicktation? The buzzer rings and a female voice tells the blowjob-recipient that his grandson is outside. Grandson? This guy is barely twenty and he has a grandson? When the grandson enters we discover he is in the 18-23 year old range.

Review brief: I thought they wanted my money, but it turned out to be a whole lot better. They just wanted a piece of my ass. That above piece of dialogue and the mammoth cum shot of a performer known only as Jo are the only memorable things in what is seventy minutes of mundane sex. I didnt think gangbangs could be so boring. Despite the excruciating pain of a sprained toe, I had to struggle to stay awake. The extras are truly fine. There is an engrossing photo shoot with slender, sexy Ollie Kicks being a standout (pun intended). We can see the results in the photo gallery. There is also a cum track, trailers for other of the studios films including one called Bike Messengers: Peddling Ass that looked to be worth checking out, and a fun Pick the Dick game where we are asked to pin the prick on the porn star. Review brief: This Catalina story-driven DVD is far from a great sex romp. The story is a Strangers on a Train kind of a deal, and sort of movie about making movies. Nasty movie director Steve Rambo and his financial angel and lover Blake Harper have a relationship that is on the rocks, mainly because film star Jason Branch, who is film score composer Ray Harleys lover, is actually doodling director Steve on the side. Anyway, Ray finds out by looking at the daily rushes (seeing some extra footage of Steve and Jason doing dirt), so Ray arranges for Blake to strangle Jason and Blake has Ray shoot Steve. Confused? Never mind. Weve seen this plot before and of course much better done by Hitchcock, and the same can be said about the man-to-man sex (except for the Hitchcock part. I dont think he ever filmed man-to-man sex. Although, if Psycho had taken a different turn, I really wouldnt have ruled it out for Anthony Perkins.) Sorry if I confuse the issue further. Anyway, a major fault of this DVD for me is that the suck-to-fuck ratio is WAY too high.

Review brief: Jezebelle Bond, I wrote in my notes for the first scene of Wickeds Second Chance, smiles like a whore whose only thought is to get Steven St. Croix off; she never comes close on her own. Little did I know the reason for that when I watched the scene. Director Jim Enright cleared it up for me later as I perused this discs Behind the Scenes featurette. Turns out that Ms. Bond appears here in her first ever boy/girl scene on camera. And thats an interesting fact, I think, but it didnt make me like the scene any better. However, I will say in her defense that Jezebelles performance isnt the worst thing in this movie. Written by Melissa Monet, this is the story of John, an old man (he looks to be in his 50s) whos just buried his best buddy, Harry. Or thinks he has. What John doesnt know is that his friends death was a sham, cooked up to provide him a second chance at lifein a younger body, with a successful career and all the women he can handle.

Review brief: Feeling very patriotic on the Fourth of July, I decided to watch something with American in the title. I had probably watched it before but didnt remember it. Now I know why. It is almost totally forgettable. The film consists of interviewing the participants before each scene asking them what their ethnic background is. Who gives a fuck? An American is an American, isnt he? I suppose they are trying for the old America is a melting pot but I found it a stupid question; so did most of those being interviewed. Im just a mutt, one wisely said. First up are Ansley and Aaron, a southerner and a Jewish-Italian-American. Ansley, a pleasant blond, is the best-looking person to appear in the film. Thats not as complimentary as it sounds as he has little competition. Aaron is thin with a bit of hair in the middle of his chest. He has a big thick dick, but the Mohel appears to have botched the circumcision somewhat. These guys establish the pattern for the entire film. After being interviewed its kiss, suck one anothers dicks, fuck, jack off. In this case its Ansley who gives up his butt.

Review brief: Wicked at Heart is a rather disappointing film from Wicked, which I don't see too often. I felt that the sex scenes were lacking and the story needed some work. Fans of one of the stars might want to pick this title up if they can find it on sale cheaply, but beyond that, I'd recommend that you pass on this title and pick up another one with your favorite stars in it. If you are a fan of the film, the movie looks good here and you'll want to pick it up and add it to your collection.

Review brief: If you can get your mind around the idea that two of the Violation of series of films could win the award for best girl/girl, that the series itself could win as best seriestwicethen you probably have a higher regard for AVN than I do. While I dont disagree with everything AVN stands for, I think their credibility in the girl/girl arena is somewhere south of nil. Devinn Lanes credibility takes a substantial hit in The Devinn Lane Show 2: Less Talk More Action. Taking her cue from a top ten list devised by the editorial staff at AVN (the top ten things theyd like to see more of in porn), she builds a scene with T. J. Hart around double masturbation and camera babble (thats when a porn star talks to the camera, trying to coax a reaction out of the audience that the lousy sex isnt capable of producing on its own). The resultnot to put too fine a point on itis, of course, crap. But then Devinns sense of what constitutes good girl/girl is highly suspect anyway.

Reading the box back, I was excited to see it listed scenes with Tera Patrick and Jenna Haze, come to find out Jenna doesn't even appear. Clips: 1. Dirty Debutantes #211-Carmen Luvana. Review brief: I've been a fan of adult anime for a long time now with a fairly decent collection of VHS titles. This is my first DVD of such kind, and also the first title I've seen from Nu-Tech. If all of their titles are like Custom slave, I will have little interest in anything else from the company. The plot of the title is rather simple and typical of adult anime; a young girl named Sayako attends a private school that transforms her into a sex slave. The story of Sayako's transformation is highlighted, however, not with views of the girl herself, but from short scenes with her aged parents, which is not the desire I have when viewing an adult title. As most adult anime goes, Sayako is unwilling at first, but over time submits willingly. Unfortunately, the time is short. The animation is a bit bland at times; very simple structures without any details, and while Sayako is pretty, with enormous (for her figure at least) breasts, most of the movie's characters are not well done.

Review brief: I have been a devoted champion of Private Mans foray into gay porn, so I am greatly saddened to see that their fifth film in this line has deteriorated both in the production values and in the direction. Everything was here to make a fine film. But they screwed it up. The lighting is often garish, the camera often out of focus, and the director has employed a disastrous technique of switching in and out of to black & white during the sex scenes. Whether or not this is some perverse Brechtian nonsense of audience alienation or an attempt to cut costs by using up a stock of old black and white film, the result keeps us from getting involved in the action. As the film opens we see a young man seated behind a desk getting a blowjob from someone. All we see is long hair. Is this a female secretary taking dicktation? The buzzer rings and a female voice tells the blowjob-recipient that his grandson is outside. Grandson? This guy is barely twenty and he has a grandson? When the grandson enters we discover he is in the 18-23 year old range.

Review brief: I thought they wanted my money, but it turned out to be a whole lot better. They just wanted a piece of my ass. Review brief: This Catalina story-driven DVD is far from a great sex romp. The story is a Strangers on a Train kind of a deal, and sort of movie about making movies. Nasty movie director Steve Rambo and his financial angel and lover Blake Harper have a relationship that is on the rocks, mainly because film star Jason Branch, who is film score composer Ray Harleys lover, is actually doodling director Steve on the side. Anyway, Ray finds out by looking at the daily rushes (seeing some extra footage of Steve and Jason doing dirt), so Ray arranges for Blake to strangle Jason and Blake has Ray shoot Steve. Confused? Never mind. Weve seen this plot before and of course much better done by Hitchcock, and the same can be said about the man-to-man sex (except for the Hitchcock part. I dont think he ever filmed man-to-man sex. Although, if Psycho had taken a different turn, I really wouldnt have ruled it out for Anthony Perkins.) Sorry if I confuse the issue further. Anyway, a major fault of this DVD for me is that the suck-to-fuck ratio is WAY too high.

What John doesnt know is that his friends death was a sham, cooked up to provide him a second chance at lifein a younger body, with a successful career and all the women he can handle.

Review brief: Feeling very patriotic on the Fourth of July, I decided to watch something with American in the title. I had probably watched it before but didnt remember it. Now I know why. It is almost totally forgettable. The film consists of interviewing the participants before each scene asking them what their ethnic background is. Who gives a fuck? An American is an American, isnt he? I suppose they are trying for the old America is a melting pot but I found it a stupid question; so did most of those being interviewed. Im just a mutt, one wisely said. First up are Ansley and Aaron, a southerner and a Jewish-Italian-American. Ansley, a pleasant blond, is the best-looking person to appear in the film. Thats not as complimentary as it sounds as he has little competition. Aaron is thin with a bit of hair in the middle of his chest. He has a big thick dick, but the Mohel appears to have botched the circumcision somewhat. These guys establish the pattern for the entire film. After being interviewed its kiss, suck one anothers dicks, fuck, jack off. In this case its Ansley who gives up his butt.

Devinn Lanes credibility takes a substantial hit in The Devinn Lane Show 2: Less Talk More Action. Taking her cue from a top ten list devised by the editorial staff at AVN (the top ten things theyd like to see more of in porn), she builds a scene with T. J. Hart around double masturbation and camera babble (thats when a porn star talks to the camera, trying to coax a reaction out of the audience that the lousy sex isnt capable of producing on its own). The resultnot to put too fine a point on itis, of course, crap. But then Devinns sense of what constitutes good girl/girl is highly suspect anyway.

Review brief: I've been a fan of adult anime for a long time now with a fairly decent collection of VHS titles. This is my first DVD of such kind, and also the first title I've seen from Nu-Tech. If all of their titles are like Custom slave, I will have little interest in anything else from the company. The plot of the title is rather simple and typical of adult anime; a young girl named Sayako attends a private school that transforms her into a sex slave. The story of Sayako's transformation is highlighted, however, not with views of the girl herself, but from short scenes with her aged parents, which is not the desire I have when viewing an adult title. As most adult anime goes, Sayako is unwilling at first, but over time submits willingly. Unfortunately, the time is short. The animation is a bit bland at times; very simple structures without any details, and while Sayako is pretty, with enormous (for her figure at least) breasts, most of the movie's characters are not well done.

Review brief: As far as Ed Powers films go, this one falls about average. The usual technical inadequacies are present and the females are average to very good looking. If you are a huge fan of Ed's films you'll probably want to pick this one up. If you aren't you'll probably want to pass on this title or buy it on sale. If you dislike Ed's films, this one won't change your opinion of them.

Review brief: If you are not a fan of Ed Powers movies, this is not going to be the one that makes you into a fan. If you haven't seen an Ed Powers film yet, try Dirty Debutantes 164 as that is the best film by him that I have seen yet. If you are a fan of the series, you'll probably want to pick up this title as it is above average for him and the video quality is in good shape.
