The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Skye Blue can do a decent job behind the camera, and I love the idea of a kinkier movie being made for couples.

Initial Reaction: It has some nice thoughts, but in the end doesn’t make it too far by trying to keep it inoffensive and by focusing more on being artistic than sexual.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting softer sex with a few kinks and a lot of artistic camera work

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who doesn’t like overly artistic sex

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a bit weak. Everything about the audio and video quality of the movie reminded me of watching a VHS tape. It has a slightly muffled sound, and although the video is well lit, it’s also slightly muddied. The movie looks and sounds more like it was made around 1995 than in 2002.

Music: The music is a bit cheesy, but it keeps with the couples feel. It varies from being nicely balanced with the rest of the audio to dominating the audio, and rarely adds anything to the movie.

Menus: The main menu does a decent job of working together a bit of the movie with a little animation. The chapter menu is very generic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number.

The Feature

Teri Weigel and Mark Davis work at a sexual help clinic. Here they talk about ways they might be able to help their patients spice up their sex lives as well as looking back at past patients.

Scene 1 - Shayla LaVeaux, Holly Hollywood, and Dillion Day

Shayla, wearing a black hood, gloves, and latex, leads blindfolded Dillion in to find his birthday cake in the form of Holly covered in chocolate, holding a pair of candles, and with a sucker down at her ‘sweet spot’. Dillion blows out the candles before they both start licking Holly clean. Dillion gives Holly’s honey hole plenty of tongue action while Shayla encourages him, kisses him, and even offers a little of her own help when Dillion moves up to let Holly sample his all day sucker. This is an okay scene that hovers around the average mark. I really like the setup for the scene, and the food play is nicely done as well. There’s nice energy and plenty of chemistry, but the scene still had trouble working for me. I think that’s mostly due to the camera work, which seemed uninspired. It also seems limited with things like Shayla screaming for Holly to squirt for her, and although it sounds like Holly does you never get to see it. There’s some nice touches to this scene, but I just couldn’t get that far into it.

Scene 2 - Dru Berrymore and Calli Cox

Brunette Sondra and blonde Dru start things out in hot pink dresses with black shoes. Calli worships Dru’s shoes as she kneels before her in a pool full of water before letting Dru suck her tits. Calli moves on to tongue and finger Dru’s twat before fucking her from behind with a vibe. Dru rewards her with a double dildo and a little tongue action before joining her on the other end of the toy. Finally, the girls end things with a bit of kissing.

This scene has a lot of potential, but in the end I didn’t think it made it much past the average mark. There’s plenty of chemistry between these two ladies, who almost always impress me, but the scene almost seems afraid of it. Instead it makes itself overly artistic, including the extremely overbearing and annoying music, and quickly seemed to crumble under its own artistic weight. This scene should have been much, much better than it ended up.

Scene 3 - Nicole Sheridan and Voodoo

Nicole starts things out in a black latex dress and gloves making hooded hubby Voodoo worship her boots while a camera blows them up in the background. She lets him tongue her twat before playing with and sucking his cock. Nicole moves up to ride Voodoo reverse cowgirl style before having him fuck her from behind. This is a slightly above average scene. The screen behind Nicole and Voodoo adds a nice look to the scene, but the camera work once again seemed lackluster. Nicole and Voodoo also had a slightly nasty feel that went unfulfilled and seemed wasted with only two positions and absolutely no anal (which I think would have fit the scene extremely well. This is yet another scene that seemed to have very good potential and didn’t go nearly far enough with it.

Scene 4 - Sondra Hall and Chris Cannon

Sondra, a nice looking brunette who looks like she had a fair amount of facial surgery, starts things out in a cream and black rubber outfit showering Chris, who’s in black gloves, pants, cap, gas mask, and blindfold, with flower petals before letting him find her as she calls out to him. When he gets close enough she removes his blindfold and they caress and play with each other as Sondra makes her way down to suck his cock. Chris reciprocates with a bit of oral action for Sondra’s snatch before fucking her missionary style. This is yet another okay at best scene that had a very hard time holding my attention. Sondra and Chris have okay at best chemistry, but at a length of nearly a half hour the scene was so long and drawn out that it made me appreciate my remote control more than any scene in recent memory. The scene also has an overly artistic feel and has a need to show the flowers as often as possible. This scene didn’t even make it to the average level.

Scene 5 - Teri Weigel and Mark Davis

Teri, who just doesn’t look nearly as good as a bleached blonde as she does as a brunette, and Mark decide that it’s time to play doctor to finish things up. Teri drops her lab coat to reveal some sexy fetishwear and long black gloves, and is matched by Mark dropping his to reveal a black shirt and pants. She starts screaming and squealing away when Mark’s mouth is almost to her neck, and barely slows down with her vocals as he works his mouth across her tits, her bald pierced pussy, and her asshole. Teri reciprocates by working Mark into her throat a few times, giving his cock a few bites as well, and giving him plenty of great eyes while she works him over orally. Teri hops up to ride Mark reverse cowgirl style before lying back for a little missionary work. They also get in a little cowgirl before Mark decorates Teri’s face.

This is probably the best scene in the movie. There isn’t anything overly kinky about it, but there’s nice chemistry and energy and it’s captured pretty straightforward. Teri thankfully tones down her extremely fake screaming after the first few moments, and has some nice vocals through the fucking. This scene actually inches its way past the average mark.

Kinky Couples Sex Games is a very nice idea that just doesn’t make it too far. The sexual clinic setting works great for setting up the scenes despite Teri’s poor acting, but the scenes themselves never really worked for me on their own and as a whole end up even more disappointing. They often have very good chemistry and nice energy, but that wasn’t enough to carry the scenes. They were overly drawn out for their length, have a feeling that’s overly artistic, and also feel like they’re being held back from reaching their full potential. Sadly, these problems show up all too often in “couples porn”, and it’s the main problem with the movie. My other problem with the movie was often the scenes themselves. I’ve often said that I think it’s the chemistry and the feeling of the scenes that turns off women rather than extreme sex acts, but here I think the scenes and their timing helped to hold the movie back from being a really good couples movie. I think more women than not can do without all the lesbian action in porn, but with the kinky focus of the movie having a threesome seems like a decent idea. Starting out with the theesome and then following it up with a lesbian scene, however, seems fairly idiotic and I think will lose most of the female viewers that this title should be half aimed at. Yes, the other three scenes lend themselves nicely to couples wanting something a little different, but they just don’t seem like enough here. Kinky Couples Sex Dames has a nice idea, but the execution of it leaves me thinking that most couples would do better elsewhere and that the ones who do pick it up will give their remote plenty of use.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Bizarre DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $28 with most stores offering them for over $20. Rent this one first. As usual, the technical aspects lack a bit and there’s virtually no effort put into the extras. The movie, however, lacked here as well, and often left me uninterested. This is a nice idea that barely uses its potential on a lackluster DVD.

Note to Bizarre Video: A little effort towards the technical aspects and extras could go a very long way.
