Review brief: Pleasures of the Flesh #10 is a typical Euro porno, with one enormous exception the girls are not the usual drop-dead gorgeous. The girls are decent to look at but lack the distinctive Euro beauty of body and face. These are B Listers, at best, not stunners. Aside from the girls, though, this is archetypal Euro action, with plenty of (some would say too much of) hard sex that includes a lot of stopping for P2M, A2M, orifice fingering, and gaping. This style of fucking (and I use the term loosely) is difficult to get excited about because the action stops every 5-6 strokes. The guys do their moaning routine ad nauseum. I know Luc Wylder is highly admired in the industry, but I can do without his boring interviews before each scene. He wastes 6-7 minutes with the performers asking inane, unimaginative questions. He also has a tendency to start talking to the girls just after they get a creamy facial, which some consider the epitome of bad timing. There is also some terrible camerawork here. Shots of the back of a girls head while she sucks cock may be necessary for X-rated distribution (like on the Playboy Channel), but they should be avoided in the XXX-rated version. The same goes for long shots of the guys face and long-distance angles. The girls here are strictly B-Listers, with blond Heaven Taylor being arguably the best-looking one. Nicole Brazzle, Angela Stone, Mone Divine, Diamond Foxx, and Poppy Morgan round out the cast of forgettables. Only Heaven and Mone take facials, and there is no anal action at all.

That may seem a bit harsh when referring to Carmen Luvana and Holly Hollywood, who still are semi-appealing, but I just have seen too much of them to find them anything more than mildly attractive. The plot (as such) revolves around Gwenn, an unknown who won some Atlanta competition known as the Miss Swingers Date Club USA. She and her partner, Jay, come to L.A. to get it on with some real pros. What follows in some decent sex action interrupted by countless interviews. Theres lots of talking in this one. With crew members and voyeurs scattered throughout the set as the action takes place, there is little heat in the sex. Youll also probably view more of L.A.s skyline than youd care to see. All these problems could probably be overcome if the main star was the least bit appealing.

Review brief: Suze Randal has been directing porn since the 1980s, and most of her work can be categorized as couples flicks. Now Pure Play is boxing some of her earlier work into a Classics series called Suzes Centerfolds. Volumes One and Two are available in a single box set. Anything less than two discs in a set would be a ripoff of major proportions. There are only four scenes on each disc, which average about 40 total minutes playing time. If you can stomach 80s hairstyles, hairy snatches, outdated dialogue and music, poor acting, and zero credit identifications, this DVD might be for you. Out of the eight scenes, I could only positively identify Laurie Smith (Disc 1, Scene 2). Randy West and Kevin James were recognizable from the second disc, but who cares about them, right? This offering is strictly for fans of old porn. There are costumes galore (French maids, plumbers, etc.). The film is grainy (as expected for such old movies) and didnt transfer well to disc.

While it has some good moments, its hard to believe this series ever got to Volume #2. The girls range from attractive (Alice in Scene 3) to drop-dead gorgeous (Alissa and Alexa May in Scenes 2 and 5, respectively). The sex is standard Euro fare hard fucking, lots of anal, some A2M, a little DP, and facials galore. Of course, theres also the typical gaping, camera stare downs, and fake moaning that detracts from the heat. Also, three of the scenes are shot in outdoor locations (you decide if thats a plus or minus). The lezout between Jasmine Forever and Karina didnt do anything for me or Mrs. Groove. But if you really want boring, watch the 54-minute Behind the Scenes feature. Director Frank Thring (think Ed Powers with an English accent) hams for the camera and tries to explain to his multi-language crew how he wants things.

Review brief: Seven Year Itch had a chance to be a very good porn flick. Instead, thanks to some overly-ambitious camera angles and poor editing, it ends up being just middle of the road. Director Roy Karch apparently feels he might just win an Oscar if he continues using distracting, unflattering camera shots during the action. Case in point, fiery redhead Pason is giving a great blowjob to Steve Hatcher in the fourth scene. But Karch shoots the action through a beveled window, distracting this viewer completely. Earlier, brunette Felix Vicious is romping heatedly with Jack Spade on a couch. Karch elects to show much of the action through the bottom of a nearby mirrored table. This kind of cinematography adds nothing to the eroticism of the scenes. Theres actually a storyline in this feature, though its quite lame and worthy of FFing. Strangely, Karch chooses to close the show with a lezout (Mika Tan and Katie Morgan), not the usual climatic boy/girl action. That left me less than breathless.

Review brief: Pick and Fuck would be a better flick if it had decent-looking talent, better flow to the sex, and more interesting interviews. Other than that, this is a great DVD! Each of the five girls is interviewed before her scene. Unfortunately, the guy asking the questions sounds like hes just waking up from a weekend bender. It would be impossible to ask more inane, silly questions. The girls are all, at very best, B-listers. Haley Paige (batting leadoff) has had her moments of glory in the past, but when shes the best you can offer, you know this is problem porn. Roseanne Arquette look-alike Kelly Wells is next, and she looks like shed rather be at an IRS audit. Blond Jessica Popp has a terrific porn name, but she doesnt show much fire. Review brief: Can someone please explain to me why most Euro porn has such a difficult time identifying the performers? Review brief: Going Down With Love is a decent couples flick that could have been a lot better. This feature film has a marginal storyline (new platonic roommates will they or wont they end up playing Hide the Salami?), decent sets and lighting, pretty good camerawork, and some above average girls. What it lacks in real eroticism and heat. Aurora Snow and Jay Ashley have moved in together just as friends. Of course, all their friends start making book on whether or not theyll be sharing the same bedroom within a month. To assist you in fast forwarding through the boring dialogue, the answer isyes! Review brief: First Offense #6 really has nothing offensive about it. In fact, its pretty darn good porn! This is a Peter North feature, so you know its going to have great looking women and hard-pounding sex in nice settings with great camerawork. Peter does the honors in the first scene with blond Kaley Star and streaked brunette Haley Bangg, both attractive girls. His 20-minute session is a highly-charged affair ending with a shared facial. Review brief: You could do a heck of a lot worse than renting/buying Dearest Diary to take home to wifey for a primer before a night of passion. This is good, hard-driving porn without the garbage that we see in much of todays smut. I cant believe any woman would be turned off by this flick. The girls basically range from very attractive to beautiful. There is only one short anal scene (Sharon Wild), while all six girls take some sort of facial. If your woman can handle that, shell enjoy this flick and youll get lucky. Brown-haired Cherokee leads off, and, while she may be the least attractive of all the girls (and she aint all that bad!), she certainly knows how to turn up the temperature with Alex Sanders. Redhead Pason is next, and she is a dead ringer for 90s star Brittany OConnell (thats a good thing!). She romps with Dave Pounder in a very hot scene. Brunette Temptation needs to put a little more passion in her work, but shes darn fine to look at as she wrestles with muscleman Lee Stone. Blond Trinity James shows some spunk and energy in her coupling with Chris Cannon.

Review brief: Teen Sensations #9 is an average porn flick. Most of the girls look a bit older than 19, but thats nitpicking. The main problem is the sex is uninspiring. There is very little heat generated by any of the performers, most of who look like they are doing their tax returns in their heads while fucking. Since all the scenes are basically the same, heres a brief rundown: Dirty blonde Christie Lee takes on Reno (pussy popshot); plump brunette Shay Lamar engages Chris Slater (facial); cute blonde Jasmine Rouge gets double-teamed by K.K. and Titus Steel (interracial, anal, facial); plump brunette Anika Fox romps with heavily tattooed Joe Friday (facial); blond Nicole Brazzle and Sergio (facial); and blonde Harmony and brunette Shayna Knight tag-team Marcos Leon (double facial). Director Alex Ladd needs to get more heat and enthusiasm from his performers. This is by-the-numbers sex without anything remotely considered spontaneity.
