First, the good news... alec metro and serenity are great and perfectly cast in their leads as the conniving stepsiblings. (as you've already read, this film is a takeoff on "cruel intentions," where the steps are rich, beautiful and bored. alec is lusting after his stepsister serentity, and they make a bet where serenity will give him her goodies if he can bed kiki d'aire). each are self-absorbed, beautiful (except for alec's flaming red fake tan), and put down some seriously good acting. the set-up alone should have made the film hot. a couple of the sex scenes were fun, particularly the two g-g-b scenes, which i'm not even typically a fan of. the bad news... kiki d'aire as the prize? ohmygod, to watch her was painful. she was entirely miscast as a supposed stuck-up, yet virginal lawyer. she can't read a line to save her life and, hey, the quasi-bo derek cornrow thing ain't working. every time she was on the screen i ff'd. When exactly they were dubbed in English, I'm not sure, I assume sometime in the 1900's. This is volume 4 of several, but the only one I've seen. It consists of 10 cartoons of varying quality, but all had a washed-out, old look to them. The sound is terrible and you'll need to keep your remote handy to keep adjusting it. There was no main menu, no chapters, and no extras. I suppose if you're into cartoons more than I am, you might enjoy these. "A Gay Man's Take on Straight Porn" I've taken a bit of a break from porn for a while, and I thought, well, I might as well start things off with a good movie. Was I right to start with this one? The Movie: Raw works as a porn comedy. It's not as story heavy as Bliss and no where near as dark. Still, the script is tight and the acting is really strong. Joel Lawrence and Kylie Ireland are engaged. Kylie wants a wedding to top all weddings, but Joel, being a struggling actor, can't afford everything she wants. So, what does he do? He becomes a porn star, and a really famous one at that. Things hit the fan though when his star status goes to his head. The movie is pretty damn funny, and the acting from the leads is really strong. Joel Lawrence has always been a good feature guy, and he lets his comedic talents take over here. "Nightshift Nurses", the directorial debut of perhaps the best actor to ever work in adult, John Leslie, not only is a scorcher when it comes to the sex, but also makes great use of comedy, blues music, and filmmaking styles that Leslie would later use in the "Chameleon" and "Catwoman" movies. The film takes place during one night in a hospital. Lois Ayres plays the senior nurse who heads the other nurses, played by Bionca, Keisha, Sheena Horne, and Lynn Francis. John Leslie plays Dr. Grow, an insomniac who hates his job and would really like to be a professional harmonica player. Joey Silvera is an everyman who goes by the name of Idaho Moe and in his spare time pretends that he's a doctor. Peter North, Josey Duval, and D.J. Now, over a decade later, the video holds up only middlingly well despite it's "classic' status. I am not at all sure if today's "XXX-Generation" (those who maintain a steady diet of Max Hardcore and Sodomania) videos will have the patience for it. Shot on film, the DVD is much sharper and has better colors than its original VHS incarnation. For an old-timer like me, it was great to see actresses like Rachel Ryan, Victoria Paris, Tianna and Keisha back in action, although their best work has yet to hit DVD.The movie follows Keisha "on a quest for spritual enlightenment," but her encounters are more physical than anything else. Despite the fashion period of that time, Keisha looks great in just about every scene she's in.
