Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and well balanced, but is dubbed in a few places. There are also a few seconds here and there where the audio and video appear to be a fraction of a second off from synching. The video is about VHS quality. It’s a little fuzzy throughout the entire feature, and rarely looks crystal clear. There are also fairly frequent shadow problems which hold back a couple of the scenes. Finally, the Quaze gets a little artistic with a few black and white sequences that work very well in the feature.

Music: The music is a little on the weird side, but so’s the movie. Although there are a few spots where it brings things down, overall it does a great job helping out the mood of the feature. It also rests very quietly in the background, which is almost always a big plus for me.

Menus: The menus are very basic, with the main menu having no animation and the chapter menu listing the chapters by a small clip and a chapter number.

The Feature: Joel Lawrence has been going to see psychiatrist Ryan Conner for quite a while. She’s fairly certain he’s nuts, and not just because of his theory that the government is putting special additives in diet soda to covert people to the Zionist agenda. She finally convinces him to tell her what else is bothering him, and, with all the surprises of the latest Winnie the Pooh cartoon, they’re sex dreams!

When Joel starts out describing his first sexual dream, I started to think I mistakenly got the movie Quasarman rather than just a movie by Quasarman. He prances around the house in a French Main outfit and canvas Converse shoes until he finds Keisha and Nacho Vidal spooning on his couch. Head Trip shows why the Quaze has a pretty dedicated following. The movie has some nice humor throughout it, much of which is provided by Joel Lawrence doing one of his better over the top psycho roles. He's nicely matched by Ryan Conner, who provides some great sexuality to what are normally non-sex scenes by her obvious arousal at Joel's stories. No, there’s nothing deep to the plot, but it was fun enough to watch that I didn’t really care. It was amusing and worked good to set up the sex scenes. Joel's two hands on sex scenes are easily the best in the feature, although the opener with Keisha and Nacho isn't very far behind. Perhaps the biggest problem with Head Trip is the camera angles. In almost every scene I felt restricted. Rather than having a view of the sex from a wide variety of angles, I felt like I was limited to one or two places, which did hold back some of the scenes. I think this might have been the biggest problem with Pat Myne and Tara's scene, although I felt it right from the start with Nacho and Keisha. Despite a couple problems, I really enjoyed Head Trip. It's a nice blend of hot, fun, and a little weird that works well and feels a little different from the average porno out there.

Extras: The photo gallery lasts two and a half minutes with about ten seconds per nice looking snapshot. Bios are done as interviews rather than the standard screen of information. Ryan Conner talks about dancing and her hobbies, as well as playing with herself a little. Keisha talks about her website, her background, and the changes she’s seen during her time in the adult industry. Although there are only two of them, it’s much nicer to see two nicely done interviews rather than several screens of borderline okay information.

There’s also multiple angles, which are advertised as “true multiple angles”. Although frequently true, quite a few spots looked to be off. Of course, when some of the audio appears to be dubbed, it’s hard to say if the angles are true or not. The biggest problem I saw with them was many of them appeared to be lit in a completely different manner, which made them really look different.

Finally, there’s a thirteen and a half minute behind the scenes featurette. Much of the featurette just shows the cameras rolling as the scenes are being filmed. There’s also a bit of extra footage with what else happened as the scenes were being filmed, such as while Joel was being spanked as he was locked in the stockade or on Ryan’s couch. Ryan Conner and Keisha also talk to the camera a bit while between scenes, which give a nice glimpse of them as people. Although not a great behind the scenes, it is a good one that’s well above average.

Overall: Currently, Head Trip can be found online for between $19 and $25 with most stores offering it for under $22. If you’re a fan of anybody in the cast or just looking for a fun and different diversion, this one’s well worth your time and money. The sex ranges from average to very hot, and the few plot sequences are nicely done. The transfer lacks a little, but there are a few nice extras to put the icing on the cake.

Note to Metro: A couple minor changes would have really helped out this DVD. First, please include a time stamp on the extra featurettes. Some of Keisha’s fans might like to keep going back to watch and listen to her interview without having to listen to Ryan (which I think is really sad!). Also, a little more work on the video quality would have been very nice and really helped things out.
