Apocalypse X is one of Digital Playground's epic adult movies that a lot of care, thought, and money went into creating. Apocalypse X is visually appealing and the cast does a great job with their characters and with their sex scenes. The director, Jakodema, has done a great job of creating a post-apocalyptic world for the movie. The only shortcoming is the plot seems too rushed through. Despite this, Apocalypse X is still an excellent adult movie. Digital Playground has done a great job with their release with decent audio and beautiful video but has skimped on the extras. Robby D and Digital Playground stick to a winning formula, plots that are paper thin, but fun and unobtrusive, a contract star in two scenes with a hot supporting cast, and most importantly, great sex. Its formulaic perhaps, but having watched and reviewed three titles recently, most importantly its never dull as Robby is shrewd enough to mix the casting up and make every sex scene individual. This film is a classic case in point. The plot is not the best but the male and female talent is top notch. Kayden is close to her sexiest best in the opener, and I really enjoyed seeing the energetic coupling of cutie, Lia Lor and Manny. The phrase "break a leg" takes on a whole new meaning in "Faking It", a very good production from director Robby D and Digital Playground. Indeed, after contract hottie Selena Rose strikes Marcus London with her car in a parking lot--apparently breaking his leg--all manner of sexy chicanery follows. From the use, abuse, and emotional enslavement of London's friends (Erik Everhard and Charles Dera), to the seduction of unsuspecting female well-wishers unfortunate enough to pop up at the door (Kendall Karson and April O'Neal), to the spicy pounding of Selena herself--not once, but twice--the deceit and debauchery know no bounds in this film. Digital Playground girl Bibi Jones starts us off with a fantastic scene with Manuel and the action keeps going strong thereafter ending with Katie St. Ives. This is a nice little fuck flick that needed just a little more. The story is light and fun with Breanne Benson, Riley Steele, and Tommy Gunn doing a nice job leading the movie. While the sex is good, it often felt a little short and rushed as one would expect with a movie that doesn't even last an hour and a quarter. As usual with Digital Playground the technical aspects show some very nice care and there's also a nice little behind the scenes featurette. Jesse Jane plays the lead role in this one as a reckless-but-adroit Naval pilot who, along with her RIO (Riley Steele), is sent to a school for extraordinarily talented pilot/RIO teams. Of course, the plot thickens as both boy-vs.-girl and Jesse-vs.-Kayden (Kayden is Jesse's arch-nemesis) rivalries develop and take hold, but everything ends well when the ladies are able to fend off an aerial attack by the bad guys. You will recognize several nods to the Hollywood version but this movie will feature some sex to go along with the fantastic flying shots. On the extras disc you get a making of feature for the FX in this movie so watch that plus there are bloopers which we know can be quite funny especially on a porno set.
