Blu-Ray Vs. DVD: As usual, the Blu-Ray disc is very similar to the DVD with a few small differences. The menus have a slightly different style, but are very effective. The photo gallery is only available to view as a slide show and there's fourteen trailers instead of eight. The movie still looks fantastic, but with the added resolution the Blu-Ray offers it's just a little crisper.

Audio /Video Quality: As usual with Digital Playground, the technical aspects are excellent. The audio is very clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. There's just a hint of softness to the picture that works very well for the movie, along with natural feeling lighting and smooth camera work.

The Movie: Eric met Kayden at eighteen and they got married at twenty two. Now several years later he's feeling the itch, and thinks they should open up their marriage to play around with other people to grow closer. Kayden isn't fond of the idea, thinking the risks far outweigh the rewards.

Betrayal is a very dark movie that I guess is kind of for couples. I'll admit that I was surprised at how dark this release was, with the movie not so much dealing with the aftermath and any rebuilding that might occur after Erik's betrayal as focusing on how rough things were for them leading up to him straying. Yes, it's done with Kayden's permission, but at the same time it's more than clear that while her mouth is giving Erik permission nothing else about her is and she's more giving up than giving permission. This gives the movie an odd feeling for something that seems like it's aimed at the couples market, and the main thing that saves it is how skilled the cast is and how well they deal with a very nice script from Kay Brandt. Although the cast is very limited, they deal with the script extremely well and give the movie some great emotional depth as well as five very well done sex scenes. Betrayed is far from happy couples porn, but it is an extremely well done release that lets everybody involved with it shine in their own way.

The Extras: Trailers are included for eight other Digital Playground releases. The photo gallery can be viewed either one still at a time or as a slide show lasting about three and a half minutes. There's also a behind the scenes featurette and commercials.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts a little over seven and a half minutes. Lela spends a little time talking with the camera about finally working with Evan after all the time in the industry and her back tattoo as well as showing off for the camera. Brooklyn also chats about bananas with the help of Evan. There's also plenty of shots around the shoot and set including a little fun with Evan. This is a surprisingly average behind the scenes featurette. It feels very short and a bit of a hodgepodge as it moves around very quickly without ever feeling like it's focusing on anything specific. This is an okay featurette, but it doesn't add that much to the overall release.

Final Thoughts: Rent this one before you shell out the big bucks. The movie's extremely well done and has all the care put into the technical aspects you'd expect from Digital Playground, but I'm not too sure how much replay value is here for this one.

Note to Digital Playground: Thank you for putting this much effort into your features and for taking risks on subject matters that might not be the most couples friendly. Also thank you for switching to DVD style double disc cases for your packaging instead of double disc Blu-Ray packaging as the discs seem to be much more secure this way.
