Blu-Ray Vs. DVD: As usual the Blu-Ray release offers the same things as the DVD with a few minor changes. The chapter menu does not let you know the name of the girl in her first chapter, which is really odd here with them being nicely introduced with an artistic opening in the movie. There are also fourteen trailers instead of eight, and strangely, the pop shot recaps aren't included on the Blu-Ray version. The photo gallery is also changed slightly, as you only have the slide show option for the photo gallery and the Blu-Ray slide show is 37 seconds shorter than the DVD slide show. As usual, the technical aspects are nicely improved, just as one would hope going from DVD to Blu-Ray.

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very well done. The audio is clear and very well balanced for the most part, but there are a few areas where the performers are a bit hard to hear over the music. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. The camera work is smooth, the picture is clear, and the movie is very well lit.

The Movie: James thought he had it easy when he asked his friend Scott to rearrange an appointment he had with a massage client, but things quickly got complicated when Scott not only went to the appointment and screwed the girl, but brought Erik in on the fun. Things get a little more interesting when one of his appointments turns out to be adult Superstar Jesse Jane. I'm more than used to Digital Playground putting out a quality production that's aimed a bit more at couples, but this is quite possibly the most sensual release I've seen from them. There's plenty of attention put into the massage aspect, and I can fully understand some massage therapists being a little upset about the sexual thoughts so many have about their profession. That said, Kay Brandt's script does it with a fair amount of respect due to James Deen trying to do the right thing and be a legitimate massage therapist rather than just a prostitute. Erik Everhard and Scott Nails also do a great job bringing a little humor into the mix, with Erik really standing out in his scenes to the point I was laughing out loud at him. Throw in some great personality from Jesse Jane and you have a great basis for the story portion of the movie. Yes, the story is on the light side, but as part of what I hope to be a long running series there's some nice things building here from the first episode along with plenty of room to grow in future installments.

Sexually, The Masseuse 2 worked every bit as well as the story. I love how much the massage portion of each scene is drawn out, and you can almost feel the chemistry being drawn out between the performers as somebody's fingers and hands work across their partner. There isn't a single bad scene in the movie, but Jesse Jane's scenes really take the cake. Her scene with James is fantastic, and the final scene between Jesse, Brooke Lee Adams, and Dale DaBone is quite possibly the best threesome scene I've seen in years. Normally I want plenty of back and forth action and interaction between the girls, and it's fairly limited here. At the same time, you can see just how much Brooke is getting into watching Jesse pleasure her man that it completely works. It also makes this perhaps the best couples oriented threesome scene I've ever watched, and if it isn't at least nominated by every adult organization with a “Best Scene” category in their awards, that organization probably isn't worth paying attention to. The Masseuse 2 is nothing short of a fantastic couples movie, and definitely has me looking forward to more installments in the future.

The Extras: The DVD includes trailers for eight other Digital Playground releases. The photo gallery can be viewed either one still at a time or as a slide show lasting just under four minutes. There's also a behind the scenes featurette and company information.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about thirteen minutes. After a few shots around the set, Jesse talks with Jamal about the fun she has in store for her that day along with a few added words from Brooke. Gracie is next, who shoots her scene with Erik as well as talking with Jamal a bit about it. Erik talks about going into massage therapy before porn before James and Lea have a little fun with Robby making it all the more fun. There's also some great stories from Jesse before Yurizan talks about her time in the industry as well as a little other fun. Lea talks about her boobs and shows them off as well as showing plenty of personality. Although only thirteen minutes long, this is a great behind the scenes featurette. The girls all give off plenty of personality along with some fun stories, and really shine. Yes, there's some eye candy and sex too, but the girls (and Erik) really make it work showing off themselves. This is a great featurette that definitely adds to the overall release.

Final Thoughts: Don't worry about the price tag on this one. Just go pick it up. You're probably going to want to pick up the first installment as well with how good this one is.
